Sorry had to vent We leave Long Island at 10:30, cruise traffic free upstate, getting over the bridges in record time, we are travelling in my conversion van and my wife's 2000 Taurus. My 16 year old son is coming to see his first NFL game live (more importantly his first Bills tailgate) The Taurus was bought from her Mom with 28K on it. As we pass through the EZpass lane on 87 North at Woddbury, the transmission completely revolted. Car is now dead. We get towed to the nearest Ford dealer, they inform us after an hour wait, that yes the patient has died, and no, our warranty doesn't cover it. cost $2850. The people were very nice and said we could wait till maybe today, maybe monday for the car. I told them we were headed up for the game , so they said ok, get a rental and we will help. The girl was great she located an Enterprise in the town, and we waited about 2 hoursfor a car, nothing doing (small town, 3 cars in the fleet it seemed). The woman at the dealer located another enterprise in Goshen and we picked it up and resumed the trip. After 11 1/2 hours I am in Buffalo, hoping that I can have a Visa experiance Taurus Transmission - $2850.89 Rental Car - $ 267.35 Tickets to game - $80.00 Hats/Cowbell - $73.72 Bills win and get in -Priceless

I know the group sales were high from early in the season, Pittsburgh fans always to travel to the Buffalo games, and since they are in full blown playoff mode, they will be in full force. I would guess at least 20K will be Steeler fans, since early season projections had the Bills out of it, Mid October I was seeing Pitt tix for sale by Bills fans going under face value since we looked pretty bad at that point, and the thought of spending a hangover in the freezing cold was not appealing to anyone at the time. If they would allow us access to cowbells, then perhaps we can drown em out......

Actually, all of my PC purchases were done at Microcenter this year, they employ a good mix of geeks that also speak english for normal people. They were asking who is using it, what is the general and potential uses, what price range, then he started showing me the options (It was for my son who is going away to college) He was able to guide me to one that had great functionality with a Pentium 4 Hyper threaded processor, huge memory, free printer, He knew the SUNY system would probably employ a wireless network, so he made sure it was all set to plug and play with a wireless card, within 15 minutes I had the PC and he also was able to get me the rebates that will bring the total cost down to around 800 for the whole thing. This is the second year I've been to Microcenter, and I just love the place.

Are we talking about three ring binders that are refillable, or the marble one? I know my kids prefer the spiral bound ones, but the teachers don't like them since the papers get dog eared when you rip out a page, also they have a tendency to snag sweaters when the wire gets twisted. I like the marble covered bound notebooks myself. They now come in more colors than the standard black and white, Jack has the link to Staples and I think you will be surprised, they should be considerably less than 1500 bucks

But what about stuff he already has, instead of purchgasing new music, we are trying to convert all of his current cd's that he bought to be used, I am hoping that will keep him busy before we start ppaying for new stuff...

Ok, So I went out and bought my kid an iPod, now he is trying to load the music he already has on CD to his iPod. We have been able to load some music, but in some cases we have found that CDA files don't show up in the ITunes library. Is there a conversion process that we need?, Am I screwed with 58 CDs that we can't load? Help!!!!

I was able to get 1 copy of Marvs book here in Manhattan/Long Island, Someone I know was looking for a copy for her husband, so I let her have it, now I have been to 6 different stores and have not been able to find it anywhere.
