  1. I wish we could all pool in for that, only corporations can own teams now (exception Green Bay). Go for it, but hurry, Ralph isnt staying on terra firma forever, I love him, but he is getting up there.
  2. Great news Cindy,
  3. Looks like 2002 was the first year. I'd love to try the traditional recipe competition, but Im not crazy about giving away my recipe.
  4. Required reading, Well written,
  5. Great news, congrats to you and the new family. They look great!
  6. I was watching the game at home on Long Island with my wife and a few friends. When it got to halftime, I got off the couch and announced that I was going to go pick up some suits for work. I headed to Syms and heard the interception to open the second half, I got the suits and as I was driving home, I heard the first TD, getting closer I heard the second. I was afraid to break the Karma that was created, so I sat on the front porch, while they turned the TV so I could see it, they passed beers through the window to me and I watched the remainder of the game, freezing my butt off on the porch. The lady across the street (RKFAsts Mother in law) is from Batavia, after every score she would open her door and scream, she knew why I was on the porch and wanted to make sure I stayed put.
  7. I agree with John in Minn, leave it alone, its a reasonable post. I agree, it wasn't that much doom and gloom as we usually see with Rudy. It's a reasonable query with possible outcomes for EM with reation to cap strategy and player value.
  8. Mary is in our prayers
  9. Johnny Cochran? Johnny Carson?
  10. Frank Perdue Passing Services to be held on abed of rice, with a tangy lemon sauce and fresh greens. RIP Mr Perdue
  11. Fantastic!!! Great news!!
  12. Do you currently have a pair of gloves in the glove compartment of your car, and if not, why is it called that? Shouldnt it be called the insurance and registration compartment?
  13. Why do we call mellow music "Elevator music" yet I haven't heard music in an elevator in my life. Where does this saying come from?
  14. They are also adding the dreaded PSLs to the mix for season tickets. Now you have to pay a steep premium just for the right to own the damn seats. The seats will be owned by corporations and the regular guys won't have a chance to get seats.
  15. Umm, is it really possible to have a "Hall of Fame" for a message board? According to the dictionary: n : a building containing trophies honoring famous people [syn: Hall of Fame] Source: WordNet ® 2.0, © 2003 Princeton University Would the proper location or repository be the "Server" or "Disk" of Fame? SDS Mark IV #89 Rosen Lamb Lori JSP (if he isnt bitchy) AIO (always bitchy) LA and probably ten more I can't think of right now...
  16. Are the cows part of the alternative lifestyle thing?
  17. Without a doubt
  18. I'll get back to you after work
  19. I would have to guess this is from AIO, but just a guess.
  20. What about Henry's Hamburgers, That place was my all time favorite, once McDonalds and Burger king set up shop theyy were history. I also used to work at Your Host, spent most of my money there too during the winter months after freezing to death in the cold, we'd go in and get a burger and hot chocolate, they are all gone now too.....
  21. We used to go to Kenmore day every year, they still sell the suckers (Halls) in and around the area. We still have a cottage up there near Crystal Beach (ours is in Ridgeway) but its a mile from the beach. There are plenty of rentals on the beach in Crystal beach, just hit some of the real estate websites for the area. most rentals are about 600-700 for a week on the beach, a little cheaper if you go off the beach. I'd offer ours, but the family takes turns and I have no idea what the availability is, plus my sisters will immediately say the week you wanted is the week they were thinking of going, happens to me all the time.
  22. Utah (Alta) was awesome, great snow great runs, We went last year and did Park City (great food, atmosphere), Deer Valley (Ok, but pricey), The Canyons (horrible trail layouts) Overall, I would take Alta if you are going to Utah. We went to Jackson Hole not too long ago (5 years) Massive mountain, good runs, nice area great cruisers and steeps, but for the 5 days we skiied, 3 of them went to Grand Targhee on the opposite side of the mountain from Jackson. We had to drive an hour through mountain roads to get there, but when we got back to the hotel at the end of the day and compared notes with those who skiied Jackson, we had 2 feet of fresh powder, they had slush and crud. Good luck wherever you end up!
  23. My wife bought me the Time-Life books when we got married, every other month a new one came in, they were a godsend. Helped me with a lot of simple and more complex issues. I gave my set away to a freind, but they could probably be found in a bookstore or ebay. Great series of books.
  24. We are now on our 3rd home in the area, and we always took the fixer upper. In the long run, you put it together the way you like it, not the way the previous owners did. We now live nearby (Wantagh), I know there is some values in the Seaford area if you take a look. Some are fixer uppers and others are new builds. I like the Hicksville area, but some of Levitown is nice too. Many/Most of the Levitown homes are built on slabs with hot water heat elements built into the concrete. Make sure your plumber/home inspector gets a good look at that part of the house. All of Long Island is booming right now, and spring is bringing out a lot of new homes to the market, keep your eyes open but be reasonable, some of the fixer uppers will go close to the asking price, since there are many young couples who are willing to put in the sweat equity.
