Props to JP, haters...
Matt in KC replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do think JP is "turning the corner." While these stats show he's improving, the fact that he is "4th best" (in yards) if anything just shows there are more doubts about him than other starters, and just shows he's played more. JP is 36th is passer rating. That said, he is going to be fun to watch this year, even with the expected boneheaded plays sprinkled in.... -
The "REAL" Lions Game thread.....
Matt in KC replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why, do you have a problem with complainers? -
I usually get a lot of good info here. Like all sites, sometimes they're off the mark, but they're a good site for Bills-related news and opinions.
-
Well, I don't have much time now, but I'll throw some numbers out there for us to look back on when someone digs out this thread after the season. If JP starts all 16 games: 3450 passing yards 19 TDs 15 INTs 61% completion rate 250 rushing yards 4 rushing TDs 46 sacks, 6 lost fumbles (4-5 from the sacks) Not all on him: 8 delay of game penalties
-
He is either going to sneak onto the teeam, or be one of our hardest cuts. I like th eguy and would like to see him improve for another year, but the competition at safety is pretty tight. Vincent Whitner Simpson Baker Bowen All of these guys have played better than Leonard. With Bowen hurt, it may be Leonard who limps onto the team.

Another roster prediction thread
Matt in KC replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see Leonard as either a safety or a cut.... **Never mind - - I just saw this addressed above** Nice list. It's hard to believe given the cuts we face that the following could earn a spot: Jerman, Goldsberry, Powell, Pennington (Merz has looked just a bit better to me) none of them look good enough to play with the "big boys" (yet) -
Thoughts on last nights game
Matt in KC replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
*No touches for A Thomas or Shaud Williams *McGee sounded picked on in the zone coverage again (I haven't watched game, only saw play-by-play) *Price is alive and well, it seems *Wilson looks like he moved in front of Davis for 6th WR spot *4th DE spot still contested *Moorman, Schobel and Fletcher seem to be picking up where they left off *K Williams was made starting RDT and seems solid *I was wowwed by Clements who seems like he is well worth the big bucks.... *The new DBs were quiet -
What is the biggest question mark
Matt in KC replied to BoondckCL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I forgot: 5) Will our pass rush be able to get pressure on the oposing QB when rushing 4? 5b) When we rush more than 4, will we get better results? -
What is the biggest question mark
Matt in KC replied to BoondckCL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Can our defense stop the run? Specifically, are we going to get pushed off of the line of scrimmage? 2) Will our QB(s) have a reasonable amount of time to throw? 3) When they have time, will our QB(s) perform well? 4) Regardless of the wins / loses, will our team play with enough heart that they are respectable? -
He was an inspiration to me when I played trumpet. Maybe somewil play taps up three octaves?

Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Matt in KC replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Much better. I get it, and strongly agree. I'm so glad you didn't really want to talk about Peters' smelly folds or whatever.... -
I'd say at this late point in the competition there is no way Nall starts unless A) Losman gets hurt AND B) Nall gets some reps with the first team in the next two PS games and looks good AND C) Nall lead the Bills to 4+ more TDs than turnovers in the next two games combined.

Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Matt in KC replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Pardon me? I don't usually like to post grammar-police type comments, but I cannot understand this "sentence." Peters is a shiny toy, or smelly toy? ...or shiny toy tha may turn smelly? I really don't know if this is what you're saying, but we found a starter we signed to a long term contract without giving up a draft pick or getting into a FA bidding-war. Good job front office! Find us some more shiny, stink-resistent toys. -
Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
Matt in KC replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Peters has a good chance at being our best lineman this year. That being said, I've seen more bad plays from him in the first two PS games than the entire second half of last season. He may be getting off to a slow start this year, but if he continues to improve anywhere near the speed he did last year, he'll be great. -
Being better than Nance, Wilson or Fast Freddie, I'm glad to keep Reed on the roster. He had some great plays last year and I'm hopeful it continues into the regular season this year. Besides downfield blocking, I think he's the best on the team at coming back to JP when he is in trouble. I must have seen JP throw to Reed at least 5 times on the right sideline after a scramble last year. (Does he ever scramble to the left?)
-
So, are you agreeing we'd be foolish to cut him? Does that mean we have above average WRs if we're considering him our 4th or 5th WR?
-
Yes, Reed has pissed off several fans with untimely drops since he joined the team. But, last year he was really an asset to the Bills. Of his 32 catches, 21 went for a first down, and a quarter of them were over 20 yards (14 ypc avg overall). Also, I can't remember what site tracks "drops" but he did not have many last year, and earned a lot of his yards with solid runs after the catch. Not bad for a receiver who came into last year "in the doghouse" (with Lindell).... http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302219/gamelogs/2005 Short of something like drugs or insubordination, I can't imaingine we'd cut Reed this year.

Peerless hasn't just been missing from the offense
Matt in KC replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm in DC so I haven't hada chance to see the Bengal's game. Price played a lot against the Panthers. He looked like he was running well, but I was not impressed with his blocking or hustle on running plays, or when other receivers had the ball. He was listed as a starter in the Cinci game. I assume it was just like the Panther's game (wish I could have watched the game). Maybe Price's contract was largely salary and incentives this year and he freaked out over having no catches.... Whatever's going on, I hope he comes back and gets with the program. -

So when are the cut dates this year? Didn't this change a bit for this year, or was there just a proposed change (w the rules committee? I can't remember...)? ----------------------- Edit Got it: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...=0entry748097 I just saw the other thread where someone answered (thanks, bills#21Iowa). -

So, add Eric King to this list too? ...or is it pretty clear he really has a medical condition? -
Setta as kickoff specialist

Wow, we're already filling the roster spot vacated by Price? -
Fantastic. I look forward to reading your comments! And tomorrow evening actually I'll be able to reply once I watch the game (TiVo).

Honestly, that was my first thought too. Depression really hit me when I turned 30, but I realized I had suffered from it on and off for years. I was never really blue... more "blah" than blue. Do you take on many new activities? I think in my Psych classes they said "initiate autonomous activities." In other words, if you're depressed, you're likely to go with the flow, and maybe take on new things only if someone pushes you that direction. http://www.nimh.nih.gov/publicat/depression.cfm#ptdep1

Bills Daily says Aiken play puts PP on hotsear
Matt in KC replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally think that if Price does not block, that may be the deciding factor that gets him cut. Josh Reed, OTOH may well be our best blocking WR. Evens seems try almost as hard, but gets worse results with his smaller body. In the only PS game so far, Davis looked like the second-worst blocker after Price, but wasn't on the feild as much. The playing time difference either means Price is in front of Davis, or the coaches feel a greater need to evaluate Price. My guess is Davis is at greater risk of getting cut than Price. -
Seau to unretire and join Pats?
