  1. I actually haven't folowed the Chiefs closely, but this is what I have picked up: Perception (What's being said") KC hoped to finally have a "real" WR across from Bowe: Breaston, who played for Todd Haley in Arzona. But he's come out flat in the preseason so far, tempering expectations. I personally think he'll be a real contributer once he settles in. Starting TE moeaki is out for the year, IR KC has really strugggled on offense and defense all preseason, not getting into any kind of rhythm KC has injuries along it's o-line As you know, Cassel has hurt ribs I have't watched the games, but think the above threepoints are related Despite this, the fans believe they are a playoff team and will likely win the division again. They believe that the Bills have the worst O-tackles in the NFL, as many in the media have said, and that Tamba Hali is an elite pass rusher. They are expecting 5+ sacks Many fans seem to have a mental block on how well the Bills played the last 3 years (lost by 3, won by 6, won by... 21?) Their heads will explode if the Bills beat them at home this year. Bottom line, they don't have any idea what has changed on the Bills and are not taking them seriously Good AP overview: http://online.wsj.com/article/AP744e5b414c4a4944a0d8129ae05d1a8c.html Some key quotes from it: Note: these are all starters. What the article doesn't mention and the fans don't know or care is that last year the Chiefs only played 3 games against clubs with a winning record all year, and only won one of them, against the Chargers 14-21, opening day. (The Chargers killed them 31-0 in the rematch.) The Chiefs didn't choose their opponenets, so I can't really hold this against them. I just don't think they're as good as people might think looking at their 10-6 record. My prediction for them this year: 6-7 wins.
  2. I think the key is to contain the KC run game and get some pressure on Cassel. For Bills offense I'd like to see disciplined ball control (>60% completion, no more than one tunover). And, I think we need to take at least two shots downfield. Whether successful or not, we need to keep the defenses we'll face honest. Running some successful screen/bubble plays will also help. Edit: Oh, and if we can keep Tamba Hali off of Fitspatrick, that will help!
  3. Sorry. Yes, I agree. the line: "You can’t rebuild something that wasn’t constructed in the first place." is from the Sullivan article. I'm just pointing out how stupid it is. I agree with Sullivan that our drafting has not been good for quite awhile, but like you think that has nothing to do with the current rebuild. If anything, the lack of past draftees shows that we are rebuilding aggressively. I like the direction we're headed, but think we're still thin on talent, and our promising "kids" are still inexperienced.
  4. You can’t rebuild something that wasn’t constructed in the first place. If there were more players from our past drafts, now that would really be a rebuild. Like, Duh!
  5. wasn’t constructed well in the first place? Whatever that means. So, the Bills can't be rebuilt because the original players weren't good enough, and you can tell they weren't good enough because they're not with the team any more. And many are not with the team any more because they were let go, but it can't be that they were let go because we're rebuilding. I'm getting dizzy with this logic. I've been on TSW long enough to know that most of you can bring more analysis to our situation than this gem from Jerry.
  6. ICanSleepWhenI'mDead, I applaud your passion and all the time you've spent on your hobbie, and the satisfaction it's given you. And you've clearly spent significant time and energy on this. Unfortunately, when I see this thread pop up again, I always say to myself "Wow, this again!?" I can't think of any reason you shouldn't post this here, on the Bills message board. The content is appropriately Bills-related, and how you've handled yourself and others has been admirable. I just wish that you'd give us quarterly updates, not weekly or monthly. If you find a smoking gun, by all means bring it here and let's talk about it. I just feel like one or two more pieces of coincidental or circumstantial "evidence" doesn't really change anything, and I've read it (this) before. Actually I've read this thread almost every time it's popped back to the top. I can't help feeling like this is spam from a company I've told to email me. I don't think you're doing anything wrong, but I hate when I see this thread pop up again. Sincerely, Matt
  7. Next: Antonio Coleman
  8. I'm making the pilgramage from O. Park! (That's Overland Park, KS, not Orchard Park!)
  9. If the Bills were down by 3 points with say 25 seconds left in the game, I'd want Terrence McGee to return the kick if he's healthy. But, for your average mid-game KR, I wouldn't expose him to the wear and risk. I feel similarly about Brad Smith, but with less concern for his health.
  10. Love them!
  11. Me too. Anyone know if you have to be healthy to sign to the PS, or if Roosevelt is healthy yet?
  12. He was only cut by the Bills after last preseason to be put on the practice squad, then was signed less than a month later to the Eagles active roster. Actually he's never been a week off of a roster without getting picked up for the active roster by a good team (Eagles, Colts, Saints). It looks like he was active for 8 games for the Saints last year, which means he is not PS-eligible. 2010 Game Log on NFL.com Wiki
  13. Then he can be our Johnny White if Johnny White can't get it done. He's good catching the Ball, and seems like he'd be a real good change-of-pace back stylistically. Don't get me wrong, I hope Johnny blossoms, but Bell looks farther around. I;d rather have White on the PS and /bell active for this year.
  14. I hate to say it, but me too. I don't think Aiken is quite as ready to contribute as Bell was, but he's close. I could definitely see him playing with the big boys on Sunday by next year. I swear I saw him do more in preseason than I ever saaw from Hardy. He's what I kept wanting to see Hardy become and is an example of a player I think they never would have cut based on his performance if they had drafted.
  15. Andre Gurode
  16. Martin is definitely my biggest surprise. Roosevelt of Aiken both looked like better choices to me, though I've seen a lot less than the people making the decisions.....
  17. Roosevelt is still practice Squad eligible. That and how little he played in preseason add up to him being a good choice for the PS. I think he definitely earned as spot on the roster with a great camp myself, and will be happy to see him come back.
  18. Now undefeated... the Bills return to first place and so it begins! ----------------------- The Chiefs think "party!" Bills underestimated make Arrowhead cry ----------------------- Sleeping Buffalo awakens anew the Bills surprise everyone -----------------------
  19. I'd be shocked by a McGee cut! Here's hoping it's just a rumor started by some internet moran.
  20. Wow, so you think the Bills are going to cut 5 of their last 6 draft picks from this year?
  21. Fantastic! I hope he makes the team!
  22. Like a couple of other posters, you only list 9 DBs, but have it labeled 10. Add Corto?
  23. Now if Roscoe can just get off the line of scrimmage cleanly... That has been his greatest weakness since he joined the team, beating the jam. He looked a bit better last year in this regard. I liked Lee Evans a lot, so I'll defend these things he did better than Roscoe, even while acknowledging that Parrish has his own skills, some where he's better than Lee: Getting off of the LOS cleanly Downfield blocking Fly pattern and catching over-the-shoulder I'm fine with a reasonable extension for Parrish, so long as it's not too big or for too long. We seem to havea few other promising WRs coming up, though most in another mold (bigger and stronger, though isn't everyone?! ).
  24. I think McIntyre is a good player, who could get cut, depending on the playbook. I'll have to rewatch those plays. I wonder if CM was filling in for Johnny White while he was out. I expect White to get quite a few touches ths year.
