  1. Yeah, right. Strong safety, free safety... what's the third one?
  2. Or is it an overstatement?
  3. As I checked out the picture I realised it was the first time I ever knowingly clicked on a link to the Peter Pan "guy". What is this site doing to me?
  4. What has bothered me is the number of times I've seen QBs get out of the pocket and throw the ball away, but not as far as the line of scrimmage. In that circumstance I've often heard the announcers say it's not grounding because the QB was out of the pocket. You have to be out of the pocket AND get the ball back to the LOS!
  5. My five year old daughter came up to me at the beginning of the game and very sincerely said "Daddy, I really really hope Buffalo wins the game today." I didn't have the heart to correct her, even though we had discussed it before and she knows the Bills season has been over awhile.
  6. "The Giants ruined everything!" (waaah!) http://www.draftpacks.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/tom-brady-crying.jpg
  7. Thanks for the breakdown. I wondering the same thing, but just decided I was too lazy to check it out over my coffee when I saw your post. Based on the records you posted, the combined record against the AFC East is 42-54 (.438). Playing the AFC East appears to be a disadvantage... or the NFC division was weaker than the AFC East, making it easier for the Champ to win the division. Anyone know how many of those times the NFC Champs had a bye? Again, I'm too tired/lazy/uncoffeed to dive in now.
  8. I thought the same thing. This one says: http://atlanta.sbnation.com/georgia-bulldogs/2012/1/25/2733112/2012-senior-bowl-cordy-glenn-continues-to-shine-in-wednesdays-practice CCN / SI Blog: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/tony_pauline/01/25/senior.bowl.practice.wednesday/
  9. There are a couple decent long snappers that should still be there at the top of the second round. I'm tired of the Bills reaching in the draft. They should just sit tight and take the best remaining long-snapper in the second. I wouldn't even be opposed to them taking a chance on a high-risk high-reward type LS prospect in the late rounds as well. Let them compete in training camp and keep the best one. You build a strong team through competition!
  10. Victor Cruz / Stevie Johnson = 1.2 If Cruz, like other WRs, gets significantly better in years 2-3, he'll be a terror.
  11. Hey, thanks for sharing. I didn't mean to come off as insulting in any way. I was just answering Kenny's questions about why you'd risk your lucrative estate planning business, pointing out you may have many clients, not a few large famous clients as Kenny (and others perhaps) assumed. I have no problems with rumors so long as they carry the necessary and appropriate disclaimers, which yours did.
  12. He just said he provides "estate services." Perhaps his team cuts the grass and installs sprinkler systems....
  13. I'll just echo this.^ I've bet stevestojan twice I believe, and he's paid promptly each time. So kudos to stevestojan and anyone else who honors their bets.
  14. Would you trade Fred Jackson for Andrew Luck? Of course. Would you trade him for a 4th round pick? I wouldn't. We get much more out of him than most late picks. The question is: where in that range do you value FJ? Age and the injury are significant considerations, and salary a lesser consideration.... I'd trade FJ for anything higher than a mid-second. If I knew Jackson was 100% healthy and would renegotiate his contract for another 4 years in Buffalo at a reasonable salary with playing-time incentives, you'd need to offer around a top 5 pick to get me to give him up. I really think he's a special RB, both in attitude and skills. I don't like considering trading proven talent, and wouldn't for instance trade Kyle Williams for anything short of the overall pick (Luck).
  15. Winners: Texans over Ravens Saints over 49ers Packers over Giants Brady over Broncos (but I'd love love love to see Tom get harassed throughout the game and lose it himself with INTs and fumbles.) I think a Saints / Packers NFC Championship game would be very entertaining, likely moreso than whoever meets in the Super Bowl.
  16. I don't think Strength of schedule is considered as high on the tie-break list as you think. http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures If it's just breaking a tie for the Bills and Dolphins it looks like it's this: If the Bills, Dolphins and others: I don't think they follow the "TO BREAK A TIE WITHIN A DIVISION" rules since I think that's just looking for a division winner.
  17. I like Bell a lot too, but he's on the Saints real roster, not just their practice squad, so that will slow the Bills down from signign him....
  18. Wood confirms out for the year
  19. 27-20 Bills And since we're just pulling random guesses from the air: I'll guess the Bills outplay the Jets most of the game, but the Jets pull close in the 4th with a defensive touchdown. The Bill however show discipline and ball control to close out the game with a very late field goal.
  20. I'd say it is a marketing move, not necessarily to sell more jerseys, but to have more white uniform shots foirr the marketing material. It just never resonates as well if the pics have opponent colors or fans in the background (unless they are crying...).
  21. You know your team is turning it around when other teams start picking up your cast offs!
  22. Rock on! Thanks for the breakdown. I haven't been able to see the Skins yet this year, so I really appreciate the intell.
  23. Wikipedia entry with more info on the free kick including every time it has been used in the NFL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_catch_kick And more here: http://www.aolnews.com/2008/11/23/what-in-the-world-is-a-free-kick/ And video of Rackers trying it in 2008: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCBBUMnRqbo
  24. Wow. Shocked to see this news.... Nice piece from Jerry Sullivan: http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/bills-nfl/article599109.ece
  25. Bills 20 Giants 34 Our pass rush struggles and Nicks and Cruz eat us alive. I'd love to be wrong, of course. I just think the injury reports and past play are pointing to a down week. Now if they were playing at home.... I just hope to go into the bye week without any more significant injuries.
