  1. The guard or center kind of swung at him with his left arm and left the fullback to try to block Kyle on his own after he had a 3 yard run at him untouched. I know the mentality fullbacks should have, but what a nightmare for him!
  2. Do you think it was a mistake by the Chiefs to have the fullback try to block Kyle on his own?
  3. I own Johnson as well. I would definitely play him, no doubt. Don't overthink a day of rest. I like Rivers at home (vs TEN) better than Flacco (@PHI) this week. I had Rivers last year and he drove me crazy. Good luck.
  4. I think Smith and Brown are better options this week than Dwyer. A foot injury kept Dwyer out of practice Wednesday (returned Thurs). I certainly wouldn't play Dwyer if Mendenhall plays; there are just too many RBs getting snaps on the team. I own Fred Jackson, Redman and Mendenhall so I've been paying close attn to this as well.
  5. I think we should let him play and not remind him of this tragedy in any way around game time. Sometimes work is a welcome distraction for people who are grieving. That said, something from the team and/or fans away from game time would be nice. Does anyone know: In situations like this, can players get permission from the league to wear a small patch on their uniform? I've only seen these that the whole team wears like when Sean Taylor was killed.
  6. I went through rosters of 14 teams, those with cities starting with A-H. The Bills were the only one with two kicers on the roster. Someone else can pick up the search startingwith Indianapolis....
  7. Last year in preseason Lindell regularly kicked into the end zone on kickofffs until the third game when he again started placing them at the 0-2 yard line about five yards from the sideline. This is where he was trying to put them, apparently, not that he was unable to kick it farther. What I don't know is if Lindell couldn't kick deep consistently and keep his leg fresh for accurate FGs and if that was a reason he kicked shorter (in which case he really couldn't kick is far enough, at least long term. This year I think it's likely that either Lindell is still not 100% healthy (perhaps he can't tackle?) and/or Potter is being groomed to be our next full-time kicker. I don't mind kicking into the end zone consistently, but don't think it's worth an extra roster spot without extenuating circumstances. I was a bit disappointed in week 1 seeing how many other teams kicked touchbacks without an additional player on their team.
  8. Namaan is the obvious answer. We can let the other WRs continue to get experience on the PS. Hagan signed with OAK. I'd also look at Parrish as a second choice, honestly. Durability and his fitness to cosume a roster spot was our main criticism of him, and is a non-issue at this point. I have no doubt he'd be better than Martin in the slot.
  9. Thanks for posting. I appreciated your anectdote and the details helped me understand the level at which you performed. Can you say anything else about your injury like how torn the LCL was? Obviously all injuries and cases are different, but it gives me something to consider.
  10. Or maybe the survivor pool is closed given that a game has already been played. For the pick 'em there's not an advantage to joining late, it's just one game you didn't pick right, but for survivor, the game is already underway and some people have already been eliminated.
  11. Automate? You mean simulate, or to host a draft where you're not going to play on that site? Or one where you can plug in who is drafted in your real draft and get recommendations?
  12. Thanks for the feedback, BuffOrange. Yeah, I was impulsive on Peterson. If I'd read more, I would have waited longer to take him. I saw he was running strong and fully confident about being ready to play. Why no Hernandez, besides the obvious loathing of the Patriots? I've taken a couple in the past and have been unable to root for them. I was following the crowd on the Packers. There was a run on the defenses and I didn't really like the players still on the board (Robert Meachem, Greg Little, Roy Helu etc.). For defense, kicker, even TE, I wanted picks with late byes so I could use as many slots as possible on picking up hot WRs or surprise/situational RBs which seem to emerge the first few weeks each year. I have no idea what to expect from Bush in Chicago this year. I'm as worried about seeing his role as Peterson's.
  13. That would get me really pumped up... if I were a Bengals fan! I assume this is trying to be the opposite of being quiet around here...?
  14. I'd say Ronnie Brown is the clear favorite, then... Stewart then Denarious Moore?
  15. Hi guys. I'd love any feedback about my team, and have a few week 1 questions below. League: 12 teams Pretty typical scoring, with the following notes: 6 points for passing TD, .5 PPR, 2 point bonus for yards: 300 passing or 100 rushing or receiving Team Name: Walking Wounded 4.8 QB - Michael Vick 3.5 RB - Fred Jackson 2.8 RB - Adrian Peterson 1.5 WR - Calvin Johnson 6.8 WR - Dez Bryant 7.5 WR - Stevie Johnson (RB/WR/TE Flex) 5.5 TE - Aaron Hernandez 14.8 K - Rob Bironas 10.8 DEF - Green Bay Packers Bench 12.8 QB - Christian Ponder 9.5 RB - Michael Bush 11.5 RB - Rashard Mendenhall 8.8 RB - Isaac Redman 13.5 WR - Austin Collie 15.5 DEF - NY Giants So, this year I when with several players that I just think are "gamers". My questions are likely obvious: Who was a reach where I picked them? Sit Peterson? ...for? (Did I screw myself?) Sit Stevie? ...for Collie? I wasn't too concerned until the groin articles came out yesterday, hopefully just PR fluff.
  16. Adding to what others have said, it's not just that we've hashed and rehashed every imaginable topic, it's that we've already discussed them to death. I'd love it if someone posted some new analysis that makes me feel optimistic, but don't expect it to happen. The recent articles on the o-line and Steve's groin are successfully lowering my expectations. They are likely just prudent PR moves and don't mean we're worse off than we knew already. But, I'm expecting a bit less on Sunday than I was before. I'm so exceited to see a real game it's going to be hard to get through the next couple days doing justice to the activities I take on.
  17. Hey, what gives? Where did you see or hear something like that? Post a source or retract your statement before you get a whole bunch of other people worked up like me!
  18. undefeated Bills unlimited potential hope springs eternal
  19. Thanks for posting, and... bump. It's great to read some real analysis! There's questing in the comments if Fitzpatrick is poor at play action. I tend to think he is; it seems to be a bit slow and awkward, below average. It seems like this is another mechanical aspect of his game he could work on.
  20. When you click the link you get prompted for a group ID and password? And when you enter (ID) 23727 and (password) 2012 it doesn't take it? It worked for me and I saw a lot of other people signed up.
  21. From what I've seen, Revis is very good at being physical, right up to what the refs will tolerate, it's one way he really excels. I think having an open question on the refs/enforcement in week 1 could help us as Revis will need to hold back a bit, or potentially draw a flag. If I were on the Bills, I'd be vocal with Revis and the refs, making sure they see the contact. (Yeah, I know this is whining, but I think it could help with the winning.)
  22. I agree. It may very well be on that play he outperformed and almost covred for the safety (Searcy, I think) who wasn't close enough to make a play on the ball. That wasn't bad coverage for a CB, especially one still coming back from injury. While I acknowledge this may be the end of the road for McGee, I dispute that he had lost a step or was not good in coverage except because of injury. If he's let go, I think it's only because of his inability to get (and stay) healthy fast enough. Check out the highlights from game 6 against the Giants last year. I'd love to have that McGee back on the roster. Note: the long pass breakup he has in the endzone is very very similar to the TD score this last PS game. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2011101600/2011/REG6/bills@giants#menu=highlights&tab=recap Check out the 1:20 mark and the TD breakup at 2:15
  23. Good catch. I agree.
  24. I don't think Asper, Sanders or Carrington are "for sure" on the team. I also think Traveris Jackson definitely makes the final cutdown. (Why sign him only to cut him less than a week later?) I think Rogers and McGee make the team as well, though they're the next players you have listed I'm least sure about due to their injuries. Not listed: Add Pears. And I'd be shocked if Spenser Johnson is cut, and think it's very likely Dwan Edwards makes the team, unless he's a salary cut, which I doubt. I'm also pretty sure McIntyre will make the cut.
  25. Thank you very much for bringing stats and facts to TBD. I know you're a new poster and want to make sure you know I appreciate the time and energy you put into your post. FleaMoulds80 is right that stats aren't everything, but baseless opinion is abundant on the board. Especially where opinion varies considerably (like the T Jackson hiring) it's great to look at the data and be open to interpretations of it.
