Belichick touching the official after the game
Matt in KC replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the ref would have thrown him out, only he was already on his way out of the standium.... He definitely came off as a sore loser... again. -
Great knowledgeable fans here, but also a range of alarmist, overly optomistic, and "realistic" (pessimistic) fans here. And those categories are not mutually exclusive. Don't get pulled into name-calling. Your mention of idiots in your post is a red flag. Take the high road and/or walk away if someone pushes your buttons. Stay civil, support your positions with facts or observations, and enjoy. Treat people here like you were talking about the Bills at a tailgate. Perhaps one day you will. I'm conviced this is the best Bills site available on the interwebs.

I thought of your post when I saw Charles had a 91 yard TD. It's clear from the stats he got luck today....
-
Well hearing everyone's comments, I don't know how I didn't know this, or came to a different conclusion. I guess I just haven't been playing close enough attention....
-
Yeah, reading a bit more it certainly doesn't sound like a sprain: http://www.cbssports...left-leg-sundayReally, some people walk on a blown ACL? I didn't know that. I'd heard the opposite and that was really the reason it didn't sound likely to me.
-
He walked off, so I don't think ACL. LCL...? Sprain?
-
So who's active this week that was inactive last week?
-
That sounds like Truthiness. Maybe change to "Voice of Truthiness?"

I'd play Morris at home against Cincinatti. They've allowed a lot of yards rushing this year (180/game), but have gone against Baltimore and Cleveland, where the small two-game sample size, Ray Rice and Richardson make you wonder just how bad they are. The tie-breaker is Charles's knee. Who knows if he is really 100% or they're limiting his repetitions. Will he have soreness again and will they pull him out of the game again? Morris might even be a better play than Sproles. Too bad you're not in a ppr league w Sproles.... ----------------------- It looks like Dwyer is going to play, even though it sounded like he had turf toe. If he's active, I keep my line up like it is including Redman on the bench. If they announce ahead of time Dwyer is out, I stare at my line up some more. Everyone else plays in an early Sunday game.

Joe Buscaglia "upon further review"
Matt in KC replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't mean to be as high up on a soap box as I likely sound. I just really appreciate these articles. They are what I'd like to do myself if I had the time. I don't agree with everything (i.e. Fitz's grade this week should have been higher), but really appreciate the time and energy that goes into the analysis and write-up. I'm reacting to people seeming to attack Joe because they don't understand or agree with the guidelines he's following. They are just methodology decisions, and pretty reasonable ones I think. Disagreeing with the content is the great discussion this can spark, but TT's grade is not fertile ground for this. So TT got a B- for five lame plays, so what? The more interesting discussion is what RF should have gotten. After further review, I'd say B+. After my initial view I would have said B-: he looked poor, but somehow managed good results. I'm just surprised after review Joe came back to a B-. -

I think these Buscaglia articles are great and applaud him for taking the time to rate all of the players and keep a running average for the full season. In order to do this he has to give him some grade for his limited snaps. Again, B- is his average, and I think that makes sense for these few plays. There was nothing good or bad there. Yes, I would give RF a higer grade for the Chiefs game. You twice have come back to this instead of indicating why there's something wrong with the B- given to TT. Again, did he do something wrong to deserve worse than average on his limited plays? Is the "grade" throwing you? This isn't like they both earned the same grade at the end of a semester. It's more like you don't think 5 homework assignments at the begining of the year should have been graded at all or he should have somehow... I don't know, really really handed off the ball better, or super-knelt the ball on those plays in order to earn his completely neutral B- rating. Actually, the whole school analogy is screwed up since that sounds like all players are asked to do roughly the same work like coursework. -

You're right, there's plenty of room to argue the grade given to Fitzpatrick. Why don't you think since a B- is average that TT deserved that grade for his limited snaps? Do you think he did anything particularly well or poorly? -

I can hear the LBs and DBs trying to bust through his run blocks now:"Dont murder me, I beg of you, dont murder me. Pleeease, dont murder me!" -

So he gave a grade to Thigpens few snaps, so what? He needs to give a grade to later provide aweighted average. That means he's getting 5 or 6 plays worth of "doing as expected". He explains that B- is average. Did you see anything particularly good or bad in TT's play? -
Consistencalf finials calling of plays

I definicicle drink he should calf them the same wayter. -
I'm in a league with 1/2 point per reception RB Michael Bush - It looks very likely Forte will sit at least another week. Adrian Peterson - Against the very strong SF defense WR Calvin Johnson - Tenessee has been okay versus the pass (played NE and SD), but I'm not sitting Johnson. Dez Bryant - He's not playing great, but goes against the 32nd ranked (pass defense) Buccaneers. Flex Stevie Johnson - Against the 30th ranked Browns pass D (earned against PHI and CIN) IR Fred Jackson - In case you were wondering how I got here... Bench Isaac Redman - Mendenhall is practicing, but likely out until week 5 after their bye. Dwyer has a case of turf toe and has not been practicing this week. This seems to have Redman in line for the vast majority of runs against the 29th ranked OAK defense, in a game where I expect the Steelers to stomp the Raiders. The Steelers have not been running well this year so far. Redman had a groin injury to start the year, but seems to be back to full speed. So, what do you think, am I crazy thinking of sitting Bryant or Stevie in place or Redman? I can't sit Peterson, but the more I look, the tougher his job appears this week. My Fantasy Football site (Fleaflicker) projects Redman with 14 points to 7 for Peterson.

I think the stats can look just as good. We just might need to read a much shorter list some weeks....
-
I like the stat smack. Do it every week!

I definitely agree with the Chandler throw. Chandler was open, what, 8 yards away (diagonally)? To not get the ball to his feet even before hitting the ground is a big problem. That wasn't some complex mental mapping at that point, he just missed the throw, badly. I forgive a QB one, or a few of those in a game. In this case it looked like the worst example of what was happening all game. RF looked unable to lead a WR on any throw. His timing was definitely off, perhaps because of his mechanics work. You can argue his decision-making was off. It certainly was a bad idea to throw to many of those spots late....
-
I haven't heard anything about Freddy, just saw a quote from him saying something like after seeing the film he'll definitely be back in four weeks. George Wilson, Stephon Gilmore pass concussion tests
-
Firing Lee is extreme, but messing with his mechanics is what I thought of when I saw the bounce pass to Chandler....

Kyle Williams was AMAZING today!
Matt in KC replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone hear a stupid comment from the announcer, something like: "Kyle Williams had a great game. When was the last time he had two sacks in a game? I don't think that's happened before!"? This is at least his fourth game with two sacks, including against the Chiefs Halloween 2010. That's what happens when you single block him! -
Sorry, I've been tied up and haven't seen any of the after-game press interviews, and don't see anything posted on TBD/TSW. Did Wilson suffer a concussion? I heard Byrd and Martin were getting x-rays. Any news?

Much better than I'd expect from any rookie, much less a second round guard! He has been great! it was so nice seeing him mow guys down 10+ yards downfield.
