  1. Welcome! I agree with the first part, but not the second.
  2. The year we let Fletcher go we signed Langston Walker to a 5 year $25 Million contract, the same length and money Fletcher got with the Redskins. It's not that the Bills haven't been willing to pay, they just haven't identified and paid the right people.
  3. Huh? He's looked great and says he feels great so far this year. I'm mostly interested to see if he can maintain that through a whole game... two and a half weeks from now. Did they give any examples or explanation why they think that?
  4. So you're really YoloNotInTheBlo...?
  5. I think there is a lot of good discussion in the thread, and it has been pretty disciplined, considering the topic. It's just below the threshold I'd give the main board during the season. It's a great of-season topic, but seems to belong more in OTW. Also, I do read it all the time. I was just getting frustrated and annoyed by the back and forth between uncle flap and Mr. baggadoughnuts. For what it's worth, uncle flap seems more right to me. I just don't see the discussion adding anything that hasn't already been beat to death. I do like it when people link new articles that reflect public sentiment or new actions.
  6. Sheeesh... slacker!
  7. For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow.. which nobody can deny! Thanks! ...and Byrd trade? huh?
  8. That was how many were dressing on game day.
  9. Easley isn't PS eligible any more.
  10. not to be a broken record, but thanks for the reports! Ranks rastro! (Props to eball)
  11. Maybe we set Preseason game 3 as the deadline to close down this thread or move it off the main board...?
  12. My top concerns are: O-Line depth - The starters all look good to me, but I'm not comfortable with ANY of the backups, and it's likely one will need to play at some point. TE - I'd feel a lot better if it looked like Chandler was back to 100% CB - I think it's going to be a feast or famine kind of year.... QB depth - I think Kolb is a good short-term backup, but don't believe he can lead the team to success over an extended period or in the playoffs. Amazingly, I can't list LB. Moats is great depth, but he's the only one ready for playing time IMO. Maybe I should have listed LB Depth.
  13. I have been watching the left side of the o-line closely in the PS games. Colin Brown has made me a believer. I'm really think he's a legitimate starter, and worlds ahead of Legurski. In the Vikings game, Brown performed better than Glenn, who seems to be slowly warming up for the year. But I'm not really worried about him either.
  14. The quick answer is there is no reason, unless something changed. If teams lost a WR or gave up on one or more developmental players, they might want to give him a shot if they had some reason to think he had promise. (I don't really think so.) I think a lot of teams wanted to see for themselves, if there wasn't much risk. That's a far cry from wanting to sign him to the 53 man roster and guarantee his pay for the year sight-unseen. If a team was deparate during the year, I could maybe see them taking a shot signing him off of a PS.
  15. Regardless of Manuel's condition, I hope and expect the Bills will wait until shortly before the Pats game to announce who is starting.
  16. Sorry man, I didn't mean to really give you a hard time. I do the same thing when I'm tired.
  17. So to clarify, because you don't think Rogers will make not make the team, does not mean I don't think he won't be an NFL WR failure?
  18. I haven't seen any of the practices, just the 2 preseason games. In those I've seen more from Summers than Dickerson. If we cut Summers and Lee Smith or Gragg, maybe they'd keep Dickerson to provide backup both of those positions. Can DD block well enough?
  19. Why format that way, and why create your own thread? http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/160457-rogers-after-two-practice-games/
  20. How many games did you son's buddy get suspended?
  21. My take is Summers is playing well as a FB and even better on special teams. He gives the Bills a dimension they don't get from other players. If they don't keep a FB, then we've learned the coaches are fully embracing subterfuge. Why spend time on plays with a FB if they aren't going to be in the playbook (or is it just for our defenses benefit)? Or perhaps he'll be the final cut, and we just abandon the position to make those last tough roster decisions. I'm just saying I think having a FB gives us more choices than keeping 7 WRs and no FB. And no way would I keep Summers over Easley. But Hogan, Kaufman and Rogers? Yes, I like them all, but I think Summers helps us more now. I'd love to have any of the other guys on the PS (or of course the final 53, if we can fit them).
  22. TaskersGhost, I notes at least 3 times in the Vikings game Goodwin looked really good (blocking) on running plays in the first quarter. Seriously, look for it. He and Woods are blocking as aggressively as I've ever seen for rookie receivers, and more than most receivers ever do, regardless of experience. 5th WR? Behind who? And why do our games so far strike you as an over-emphasis on the (straight-line) speed game? We've been playing a short passing game so far.
  23. Crud. I just found the Goodwin thread. My post really belong over there.... copying!
  24. I've seen both Goodwin and Woods be very aggressive about blocking, especially on running plays. Kudos to our coaching staff! I would have just credited the players, but both of them are off-the-charts for effort for rookies, the best I've seen. With the talk of TJ blocking more it sounds like it's coaching point of emphasis, not just the players we happened to land.
  25. I don't see an active (first page) generic WR thread, so this is probably the place to post. I'll make it sounds like it's about Rogers. ---- I've seen both Goodwin and Woods very aggressive about blocking, especially on running plays. Kudos to our coaching staff! I would have just credited the player, but both of them are off-the-charts for effort for rookies, the best I've seen. Because of this, I suspect it's coaching, not just the players we happened to land. Da'Rick doesn't seem to be "there" yet in blocking or ST play. Goodwin and Woods are two great models for him, and any young player.
