I was wondering who you started. Like you, I thought it would take awhile with the new QB and benched Cameron for Finley (and lost by 10 points)!
-
I think anyone would be crazy to not want Charles in that trade. That said, I wouldn't veto it if two players agreed to the trade unless it was a pattern of collusion.

Kyle Williams did not practice...achilles
Matt in KC replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of well established players take Wednesday practice off to recover/recharge/heal. Calvin Johnson also didn't practice today. I think this is just the R part of RICE, or NICER, and not anything to be worried about. If Kyle starts losing games again due to his achilles, then color me concerned. -
I agree here, but offer this slight modification: Edelman>>>Eddie Royal>Woods>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Robert Royal

I think I would make the trade. Who would you cut to make room?

One reason why the Bills OLine are injury prone
Matt in KC replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, let me see if I follow.... Patriots o-line wears knee braces Bills o-line does not wear knee braces Kraig Urbik hurt his knee And you're wondering if the above is a coincidence? Well, it's certainly not a pattern! -
Yikes! (to the details below)

Game On! What were you're greatest victories or tragedies?

Sitting Russell Wilson and Jordan Cameron (for Finley) Week 3 turned out to now be the best moves..... -
I don't care if McGee is 50 years old, has turf toe and planter fascitis. I'll take him over Rogers as a stop-gap solution!

I agree. Those had, and deserved, their own speial enshrinement at TBD. The board definitely lost a great poster when Lori left.

Who should the next member of the Wall of Fame be?
Matt in KC replied to Breakdance's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cookie Gilchrist -
I thought the Chiefs' defense looked good (all except deep pass coverage, which was just okay). On offense, their inside runs, especially toward the end of the game, looked really good. There was very very little I liked about Alex Smith in that game. He regularly abandoned the pocket and stopped looking down field way too soon. I think Bowe is a non-factor because Smith won't throw the ball into coverage, and Bowe's bread-and-butter is out-muscling defenders.

Chip Kelly and Andy Reed seem like opposites to me, as they should I guess. One is a seasoned NFL coach, and the other a young upstart wannabe. That Andy Reid can have the Chiefs playing so well and winning these games, despite Smith being his best QB, is impressive. Talk about a fast culture change! I predict 9-10 wins. Chip Kelly is losing games with a lot of talent on his team. I predict 6 wins. Alex Smith is awful. His pocket presence is the worst I've seen in awhile, and he won't throw >5 yards down the field unless he thinks the reciever is wide open. That kind of reminds me of someone that was on the Bills, but I think I'm blocking it out. . . . -------------------------------------- So the Chiefs have more wins than the AFC north or NFC East?

I think we want to make sure the Pats* don't have any film on him before surprise them week 17!

Who tops your list of "he's just not cuttn' it?" Who d
Matt in KC replied to Armchair GM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking again, I'm sure you mean the Olsen TD for the Panthers. You're right, it was good coverage and just a great throw/catch, something I don't expect from Cam. I don't hold that against Jim Leonard. I don't know what I was looking at. I was remembering the other TD, but that was clearly Justin Rogers who got beat by Ginn. -

On the first Edelman TD he looks to have blown his coverage, but maybe it was someone else's job (a very deep LB?). He stayed over with the CB and WR in the right corner of the endzone while the Edelman broke out of the bunch formation to the deep center right past him, uncovered for an easy TD. On the second Edelman TD in the second quarter Leonard got spun around and was out of arms-reach from Edelman. I don't know how you call that perfect coverage. Kiko was oh-so-close to tipping that ball and made the throw that much harder for Brady. -

Jim Leonard isn't cutting it. I have no doubt he's better than everyone else at home watching the games, but he looks slow and out of place to me, giving up a TD in each game so far. -

Chandler has been lumbering out there. I don't think he's 100%, and shouldn't be playing, at least not yet. Hopefully he's week/s away and this isn't his new normal. Grag - I'm thrilled at the thought of a pass-catching TE who is fast, but he really hasn't looked good at all. I'm fine giving the rookie time to develop, but I don't think he's ready. Can anyone comment on his blocking? The couple plays I've seen him block (literally 2 I think) have been underwhelming. Lee Smith I think is our best option right now. And we need to add another solid TE to this team. Why can the Bill not land a proper TE? ------------------- I'm willing to give Graham more time and chances. I've been disappointed with his hands, but am not sure if that's a streak, or just how he is. I need more data. From what I've heard, he's getting separation in games, just not being target most of the time. I'd like to see more of Easley too. I don't know if he's ready to be a regular reciever, but I'd like to see 5-10 plays a game, with a couple targets (assuming he gets open etc.). -
Why didn't we tag Levitre instead of Byrd?
Matt in KC replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was in favor of re-signing Levitre. I saw how we struggled for years and years with crappy o-line play (Trey Teague, Mike Pucillo etc.) and thought we needed to overpay Levitre because we didn't want to jeopardize the development of our young new QB. Knowing what I know now, that he had issues with his knee, and Manuel is coming along fine, not getting killed, I think we did the right thing. We still need a better LG, but I'm fine with Brown as a backup. -

Congratulations to the Jackson Family - baby #4 for Fred
Matt in KC replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BB.com says the following: "Fred Jackson became a dad for the fourth time in the last 24 hours, but he’s at practice this morning" Holy cow! 4 kids in 24 hours? It's strange they didn't say quadruplets. . . . Congrats to Fred. I have very vey very little to go on, but I bet he's a great dad. -
Mario Williams - AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Matt in KC replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's there now, along with Aaron Williams tied for 3rd in tackles. I also saw these scrolling on NFL Network yesterday.
