Muffed punt recovery rule clarification
Matt in KC replied to Drreef2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So stupid question: can it not be advanced from where it was muffed, er... touched, or from where it is recovered? If the Bills had only first controlled that muffed punt in the endzone, would it have been a touchdown? -
Glad to hear it. I felt bad for pushing you toward Brown. He was free today when no one claimed him off waivers and I just couldn't get myself to pick him up. I did land Knile Davis, so I'm happy.

Jeremy White: All-22 Review - Bills/Dolphins

I completely agree; that deserved a flag. My point is if he's a bit smarter about it, it might not draw a flag eventually, at least not against us. -
Jeremy White: All-22 Review - Bills/Dolphins

It's a fine line. If Chandler looks back to the QB like he's expecting a pass at the last second, he can pretty much run over any defenseman, and might even draw a defensive penalty. -
Any update on Dareus injury?

I think Davis is the better short-term answer, I just don't trust the Chiefs to give him a lot of carries when Charles returns. It's a tough call, but I'd feel better with Brown if I needed a RB2 for the rest of the season, Davis if you're focused the next 3 weeks.

In order of preference, see below. I think you have to consider playing time as the starter/main RB above other considerations. That said, after Pierce they are all similar prospects. Bernard Pierce - crazy to dump him unless you're in a 6 or less team league Donald Brown - Playing well and Matthews is not a super-star he needs to quickly yield to Knile Davis - clear starter with Charles out, likely contributor when he returns. With a high ankle sprain I guess he'll be out 4 weeks. If he returns earlier, he's likely to miss more time later. Rainey - may keep the RB1 role or at least get significant carries - - he's playing better than a healthy Doug Martin. I just don't trust the TB offense. Ahmad Bradshaw - Seems better than Trent in Indy and I expect his time to increase

Yes, the Bills have struggled a bit in the red zone. But there are only 4 teams who have scored more than the Bills' 52 points so far: 58 - New Orleans 57 - Seattle 55 - Denver 53 - Cleveland! Only 6 teams have allowed fewer points against them than the Bills' 30 so far: 29 - Baltimore 26 - Cincinnati 27 - Washington 21 - Carolina 20 - Houston 17 - Philidelphia *playing tonight

I agree the garbage time stats add to the "noise" in the data. But unless you have other stats with the noise removed, what does the revised data really tell you? Did we do as well as other top teams?

Should we stick with the all-white unis at this point?

When you've done that, have the Bills won? -

It looks like an elephant eating a giant white dove to me. I have no idea what this means! -
Very nice!

I think Charles will be fine. The Chiefs' offensive live is struggling, but moreso with pass protection than run-blocking. I think he will get much stronger as the year goes on and the team gels. But, that said, I don't think Charles is going to have a probowl year. The blows the Chiefs have taken on defense are going to cut into his rushing yardage as they feel pressure to throw to catch up up in many games. Fortunately, Charles was pretty involved in the passing game, catching 70 passes last year, by far the most in his career. My trade joke was my way of saying don't panic. This is a great time of year for FF owners to offer trades for strong players who start slowly for what ever reason. There's no reason at all to "sell low" to dump Charles.

I have a few decisions where I'd like your opinion for my .5 PPR league this week. At RB I feel like Fred Jackson is going to have a better week than Reggie Bush, though no ranking I can find agrees. Miami is struggling at LB, and I think Fred's work load is likely a bit higher than last week, especially catching passes. Bush has a knee issue, but practiced fully, though he's going against a tough Carolina defense on the road. Flex options: Odd man out from above T.Y Hilton (vs. PHI) Kelvin Benjamin (vs. DET) Anquan Boldin (vs. SF) At TE I have Charles Clay (MIA, against Bills) and Dwayne Allen (Ind, at home against Phili) I'd appreciate any opinions, and I'm happy to weigh in on any choices you're facing.

I'll trade you Reggie Bush and T.Y Hilton for him!

There were 2 plays Kyle couls have been given a half sack. I was surprised to seen none awarded when I checked the box score.
-
I noticed many less twists and stunts by our D-Line. I think that really helped our run defense, but seemed to slow down the pass rush significantly.
-
I think he's just looking at the wrong column. Forte's 8 catches for 87 yards is 10.9, or "almost 11" yards per rush.
