Ah. With the new CBA, is the June 1st cap amortization "back in play?" -
100 MOST OFTEN MISPELLED... er, MISSPELLED WORDS IN ENGLISH

So you are the Bills marketing director....
Matt in KC replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd focus on the young Bills without highlighting any one of them too much (in case Losman doesn't make it, or McGahee isn't with us long term etc.). Especially if Eric leaves, I'd invite the fans to come watch new stars earn recognition. Also, I'd focus on the atmosphere around the game (maybe promote tailgating?) more, instead of the game itself. -
Has Josh Reed Met With any Other Teams?
Matt in KC replied to 2003Contenders's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There were several reports of Reed talking to Miami. Dolphins interested in Josh Reed Josh Reed to Miami? The fish have interest. Teague & Reed allowed to leave via FA, Per KFFL I for one think we would could have and should have tried to retain him at the right price. -
Or... what Pyrate and daninator said! I think Peters perfomed as well last year as you can reasonably expect any draft pick to perform in their first year. I think Peters is as talented as a first round pick.
-
Peters is not well known. There will likely be more competition for him later in FA. Or maybe his agent won't talk to teams (or make public talks) that aren't likely to offer near what they (agent/Peters) thinks he's worth? If they accept an offer, then that's it, that is all the Bills need to match. I would guess that he'll get a decent offer, but that it will be later in free agency.

All right, I have to ask then: is this 1 gap or 2 gap typing in this thread?
-
So I guess this means Matt Schoebel probably won't be coming to Buffalo, huh?
-
So if you could have voted on that, would you have approved it?

I need a team name for my beer pong team

It sounds like the train may have already left the station, but how about The Forespins? -
At least he lived a full life, and made it to 93. What a great photographer and wonderful man. Good quote from the article:

Anyone else think FA gets pushed back

Form deep inside, no doubt... -
I think a large part of what I (and others) enjoy is trying to "connect the dots." I tend to be rather left-brained and enjoy looking for best-fit explanations that tie together as many mysteries as possible. So, without thinking too much, what do you think is going on? Or are you saying (your "chips fall where they may" comment) you are content just taking in all the pretty colors coming from the TV without attempting to understand what they mean? I have to admit that was my mindset with the beach scene...
-
I really hope we sign him. I would much more excited to start the year with Everette and Schoebel than I have been the last few years with Campbell and Neufeld|Euhus. And, we're strapped for cash and don't have draft picks to waste. This seems like it would be a solid value updagrade.

Okay, I'll try to whip up a bnit more conversation: I watched, and rewatched a bit last night, especially Kate, Libby and Claire on the beach, and Claire's fast-cut flashbacks. In the flashbacks, most of the shots are straightforward: Alex(?) telling her to get out, Ethan giving her a shot, the ultrasound screen... but there are also shots of a silver container (canteen?) pouring out a very dark liquid. I don't know what this is, but I think we'll see it again. My thoughts on the Others: they all have day jobs as Others where they are caretakers; primarily medical caretakers. I would not doubt that they come into the hatches from another world to do their job. If I had to guess given the info available, I'd say that they live in the future on an Earth where people do not age, at least as fast as now, but whatever has given them this "gift" has also taken away their ability to reproduce. My guess is that much of the Earth's population died from illness when this breakthrough came out, though the illness takes a long time to show itself (thus the need for quarantine). I think because it's the future, they have some new discoveries tht allow them to: 1) be invisible if they cover themselves with a gel-like substance (that Walt wipes off to be seen) 2) observe the crash surivors 3) open a wormhole to the past to collect more people ..or do they just care about the babies and fertile women, or maybe the men are needed to risk getting that close to them to provide more babies? Other notes: it does not seems like everyone has hallucinated (or manifested stuff from their past) on the island: Jack and Kate have, but Sawyer and Hurley have not ever, right? Crud, the more I think about it, the more questions I have.

How will Bills be capwise if there is no CBA deal?
Matt in KC replied to Pyrite Gal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's a good run-down of each team's current cap stading: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...=42370&hl=teams -
For all the grief SDS gets for letting big-name posters go, it doesn't seems like many make a big splash on other message boards. In retrospect, SDS seems to know when to make the tough decisions to keep us a contender year after year.

Wow! 200 Players could be released today???

Matt in KC replied to apuszczalowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anyone know why the article says "Duke Preston is ready to take over at center in his second season..."? I've been watching carefully and haven't seen Duke take any snaps at center since last preseason when he played the end of a few fourth quarters at the position and looked worse than Jasen Espositio (who was cut then later signed to the PS). I really hope Duke comes on strong and just needed a year with a real strength/conditioning coach (or at least an NFL s/c coach).... I like the guy, but does anyone have anything more solid to suggest he might be ready to start at center? -
He may be slowing a bit, but Molds is respected and is a fungi. I don't think we should underestimate the value of his leekership.

I think Lee is doing great for his tenure in the NFL. He is flirting with becoming a top reciever, but hasn't proven himself yet. I went into last season concerned about his blocking. I saw continued improvement throughout the year in this aspect of his game. Lee seems to have a solid work ethic, and upstanding character. I hope he can establish himself as our #1, then start showing some leadship once he earns respect from his teammates. In order to do this, he is going to needs quality players around him. Simply removing Moulds and hoping everyone can step up, or at minimum Lee's numbers won't go down, is not realistic.
