  1. How was the show, Pooj? Saw them open for Sharon van Etten in 2010. They were friggin' great.
  2. CJ at his best is worth more to this team than it can get for him in trade. Now, you may have a legitimate point that this team cannot help him be his best -- or that there is some other "block" in his growth/development in the game that is keeping him from doing so. I hate, hate, hate the idea of turning another one of these first round picks, AGAIN at RB, into something less. I'd much rather see if it can work for him here, and risk the chance that he has a great season and goes elsewhere. I don't see getting more than a third for him with his contract coming up, and off a down season with both injury and inconsistent play. Ask yourself, if you're another team trading for him: what would you offer? If you're being honest, the answer is "not much." This isn't Richardson, a top 5 pick coming off of one year where a team could bet he was just being misused by a bad team in a different system. This is a player with 4 seasons of data provided, and only one of them with full time success.
  3. No mention of "Grand Budapest Hotel"? Biggest opening weekend for a limited release film ever. I really enjoyed it - great cast, awesome sets and creative direction as usual.
  4. I don't know how anyone can look at that list and think this team has anything close to an upper echelon TE group. How does that group compete with the likes of Gronkowski, Cameron, Julius Thomas, Jimmy Graham, etc? This team has needed talent at the position for literally decades now. Chandler can be a great safety valve but can't do anything at the second level. Ebron is among the group that I would take at #9, because we have seen time and again what kind of difference a receiving threat at that position can make.
  5. I haven't seen much to suggest that Duke or Meeks are going to be good - or that they'll be bad. We have so little information. I think if CBs are a strength, and DEs are a strength, these two may be able to cut it. I still get worried against the TEs of the AFCE, so I'd like to make sure their LBs can stick with these guys.
  6. For real? This guy was the most milquetoast, wishy-washiest, Charlie Browniest coach of all time. If he were more of a jerk, he might still be here.
  7. 6 or 7, Astro? That's hard to swallow. I'd gladly take the kid in the 4th and if they were worried about it, the third. Can't think of a better thing to have than a talented backup with a skill-set similar to your (possibly injury-prone) starter. If they have a good relationship, all the better.
  8. Conrad Dobler? I guess he's had a rough go of it so it's tough to pile on. Still. #Jerkball. Your 2014 Buffalo Bills.
  9. Cool. Sign me up. I'll bring my Spikes jersey back out of the mothballs, then.
  10. I'm both glad that they are finally addressing the run defense, and grossed out that they got a genuine dirtbag like this on the team. I guess he is our dirtbag.
  11. If you're signing them to anchor your team, that's one thing. If you're picking them up to be effective situational role players a la Lawson, Branch, Hughes, then it can actually end up working out. Putting talent in a good position to succeed is never a bad thing.
  12. Nobody wants him as a starter. He's a perfect backup. If you lose your starting QB for the year, you are pretty much sunk anyway, with the exception of a handful of teams. To start a few games in a pinch, Fitz is an ideal candidate. Tennessee's problem was not Fitz, it was Locker's health.
  13. Why not? His starting days are over and he can hold things together and run the offense if needed.
  14. The only people talking about this have no involvement with the team. If the second coming of Walter Jones shows up via the draft or cheap free agency, sure, move Cordy. Otherwise, it ain't happening.
  15. Most acid freaks are at least more fun or interesting.
  16. Jonesin' Brian Jonestown Massacre
  17. The tackles indicated a lot of gains -- and several first downs, but I can't recall all the particulars of the game. Wish we had PD stats as well. Regardless, it seems like he takes his responsibilities in the run game seriously.
  18. Steve Smith is a bad man but that's a lot of tread on those tires. If it were only dropping ten picks I might entertain it. Even with the addition of a third, and even if the value chart matches up, I think that is too far of a drop for the Bills in the first round.
  19. I still think it sets them up to draft the player they feel is the most talented at an impact position. Someone good is going to drop to 9. If that's Evans, Ebron, or even Watkins, or a QB they really really like, then great. I don't care who it is as long as he is a year one starter and a positive contributor.
  20. Given that the season starts tomorrow, I'm just as dismayed as you are that the Bills picked up three players in areas of need, one of whom has played CB at a Pro Bowl level for a team that regularly victimizes Tom Brady.
  21. I don't mind this. Quietly productive and miscast guys are a market inefficiency that Whaley can exploit, and they can do it with players that aren't getting heavy traction elsewhere. They showed this last year by turning Sheppard into Hughes, and by picking up Branch and Lawson. A lot of times these guys just need two things - the right system and to be needed by somebody. NE does this all the time - and of course it is easier for them to attract players now, but the fact remains that they pick up a mix of a few flashy players who have been cast to the curb, and a bunch of effective role players.
  22. Are you really going to turn this into a negative? Jesus. Go volunteer and help some kids or something. Grow your heart and stop looking for every cloud in a silver lining.
  23. I can't believe we're going to ask Nickell Robey to play dime back.
  24. Their dogsh-- QBs have had great protection?
  25. See, I kind of think some classic Stevie immaturity is warranted in this case. Can he tweet Revis an instagram shot of his groin?
