  1. Yes, highly touted, as in he was in most people's top 3 of QBs. Casserly, he of the vaunted David Carr and Heath Shuler picks, doesn't hold much weight with me. And most everyone thought DCarr mach one was a franchise pick at the time. I've been wrong on QBs but I would not take this draft's leftovers at the position. That's how you end up with JP Losman. If the top guys aren't there you look for the one that others are overlooking irrationally. For me that is Aaron Murray and I don't mind waiting for him to heal.
  2. Bout to find out, I presume. It'd be nice, if so. Players can come from any place - FJax is plenty of proof, and there are many others.
  3. And plenty of people thought it would be the best thing in the world for EJ to sit and learn behind Kolb, before KK met his nemesis the rubber mat. I always wrap my hopes in a nice balsam poultice before bedtime.
  4. I'd love to see him tried out at TE, but he'd have to be able to destroy dudes at the LOS as well as catch the ball to find a role.
  5. Seriously, the fourth best QB in this draft, David Carr Jr. is better than a highly touted player with a year in our system? Keep smoking drugs, man.
  6. I wonder if Fred's "AM Coffee" includes some Bailey's.
  7. This is all true, but don't you think Goodell wields some "soft power" whereby he could make it really ugly for specific owners who don't stick with his program? I would imagine that if Goodell really doesn't want something to happen, it won't. There is too much $ involved to rock the boat significantly.
  8. That's fine, but i don't think you can fault people for equating the man with his persona when he has pretty much relied upon said persona to advance his position in the world. His conduct makes what he has said regarding the Bills less trustworthy. Now, some people will be swayed by his friendship with JK. And perhaps that's genuine. We shall see, if DT even gets close enough to be in the bidding.
  9. Thurman's politics are way closer to those of the Donald than they are to those of the Prez, FWIW.
  10. That's an unfounded fear. No new stadium is getting built without a decades (emphasis on the plural)-long lease.
  11. and yet with a difference of 372 million dollars and the fact that anything could happen in the next 6 years as regards LA, etc, it is really the only possible scenario that I see for relocation. I think it's incredibly bad form, and unlikely. it would also be a horrible business decision to sabotage the brand for 6 years, no matter how excited the new city is about eventually getting the team. I should add that I think this is great news for Buffalo Bills fans.
  12. Wow, color me unusual. Bar bathrooms are about as gross of a place I could think of to get busy.
  13. I was hoping that this was going to be a full on nutjob post advocating a trade of TJ Graham for Jimmy Graham.
  14. Check the 2-minute drill stats posted earlier in the thread for a reminder of what he has done well. No one is arguing his production has been solid gold.
  15. Normal people in their 20s have sex in bar bathrooms?
  16. Having learned nothing from his years behind Favre, isn't it amazing how well Rodgers did? HE MUST HAVE HAD "IT" ALL ALONG. http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/32579374.html
  17. I don't see why anyone would think this is such a reach. I also think we need to remind ourselves of what a guy like Casserly might have said about Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers after year one, compared to the upcoming crop of draft picks. The NFL network is selling a product, and part of that product is the promise of something new and exciting for fans. The draft is the pinnacle of that. So, EJ Manuel's incomplete grade is not as exciting as a forecast slam dunk for a guy who hasn't played a down of NFL football. Hell, maybe Johnny Football meets his "rubber mat" and never plays a down. I'm not wishing for it at all, but there are precedents. "We just don't know," or "we need more time" to see if a guy is good does not suit the narrative. It's far easier for people to be dismissive. I think we also all need some reminding that being less than confident -- maybe 30% -- isn't being a hater. On the contrary, IMO, saying that we are sunk unless we draft a 1st round QB is a pretty thinly veiled hater statement...
  18. I prefer the term "No talent assclown," to cite the immortal Michael Bolton. Seriously, the guy was constructed in a lab with equal parts Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, and a box of romance novels.
  19. Think Montreal Expos circa 2000 with more animosity than indifference.
