  1. Don't you think there's also the possibility that a guy like Sapp got the BOD that he was going to be ready to play when the games started? There's also an easy solution to this if you want to give the guy chances on a new contract - the workout bonus.
  2. He's ahead of schedule and many people who were against drafting him said he would not be ready this year. The hyperbole is unnecessary. Murray will sit and learn behind a pretty efficient QB and a pretty dependable offensive coach. If you think Lewis, Tuel or Dixon have more upside than Murray, please make the case. I am not excoriating the front office for going in a different direction, but it has drafted a lot of secondary talent - and even found some growing on trees like Robey. The QB prospects are fewer and farther between and I wouldn't mind having a guy like Murray in the fold because injuries and struggles happen.
  3. You know when this King of Conditioning talks, the world stops and listens.
  4. Dixon and Lewis have not been thru a full Bills camp, just for the record.
  5. Aaron Murray is healthy and practicing for the Chiefs way ahead of schedule. I would bank on Andy Reid over a lot of HC's in the league. I think he would have been the ideal (and actually, not all that threatening) understudy.
  6. Maybe he tweeted that out as a joke, after practice was over? Maybe SAL MAIORANA IS FROM THE FUTURE AND HE WAS TWEETING FROM TOMORROW'S PRACTICE, WHICH IS CRAZY BECAUSE THEY AREN'T PRACTICING TOMORROW.
  7. How hot has it been in Rochester? Just curious. They have to take this stuff super-seriously after Korey Stringer. Hopefully conditioning will not be a major issue for these guys.
  8. Maybe Sal forgot that the ball needs to be on the ground before it is snapped.
  9. I'm just trying to cover all bases on this very important breaking body language story. DUN DUN DUN
  10. I heard he's getting too excited after throwing for too many touchdowns to Sammy. Act like you've been there before, EJ. That is, unless he is being too calm.
  11. I'm sure your thoughts aren't coming out of nowhere, JW. I do think there I'd something to the notion that a team learns how to win, though, and there are plenty of examples of the QB growing with the team. I think any rational observer thinks that the guy has a lot to prove, even if they are excited for him.
  12. And that's all good, JW. I really don't mean to pick a fight. I do, however, think that it's easy for those of us here who aren't seeing a whole lot to form a narrative based on very little besides the headlines. Those narratives usually dovetail pretty well with wherever the team is at. I guarantee you that if the team becomes a winner, you're going to see more than one lazily written article about how EJ is even keeled and refreshingly positive. If they keep losing, it'll be reasonable to say that he is too easily satisfied with mediocrity. And that'll be even if he keeps a team in the game a la Atlanta last year and the team gives it away.
  13. I presume you're not referring to the body language the Bickering Bills leader Jim Kelly exhibited now and then, or Tom Bradys whining, or Philip Rivers' awesome body language, or Drew Brees' body language while he was still figuring out how to play in this league. You know, because leadership and "having 'it'" and all, right?
  14. this is all fine, JW, but it bothers me when because of a headline or whatever it gets twisted into "Marrone and EJ disagreed." I don't think that's fair to say unless one party has been asked if they disagree with the other.
  15. No doubt we can all recall those things that Jim Kelly said on the third day of camp back in 1987. Those awful, or maybe great, things.
  16. Hard to say exactly - even a fact in football has a lot of moving parts. "EJ missed a wide-open so-and-so" could be EJ's fault, the receiver could have missed a break, it could have been a timing issue, EJ could have had hands in his face... I appreciate the reporters who can provide the most facts and context. They get the BOD if they are going to provide some commentary and critique now and then. JoeB is a big winner in this department. Let's say he gives the "factual answer." Headlines: - Manuel frustrated with offense on Day 3 - Manuel criticizes offense - Manuel not on same page with receivers - Manuel admits he was "bad"
  17. Come on, four is a great sample size compared to two.
  18. Looks, sounds and smells like shilling.
  19. I watch football for fun. We can leave anytime we want. If it makes you miserable, I'm sure that the door isn't that hard to walk through. And oh, yes, everything I've ever posted indicates that I'm satisfied with the state of affairs. If you can't read.
  20. JoeB actually provides some rational and fairly objective reporting. I'm so glad he's joined the fold.
  21. Even after the first 300 times? Sounds to me like we are looking for reasons to be upset, which is nothing new.
  22. Again, I'm truly surprised that EJ haters have found another opportunity to share their heretofore unheard viewpoints in this thread. Truly surprised.
  23. Maybe Bills fans are convinced that there is no news, and just a lot of speculation and reports?
