  1. Changing culture is something that everyone claims has happened, after having won. Can a team's culture be changed? Sure. Does it ever follow a complete house-cleaning? Never.
  2. But you know DURR DURR Bortles girlfriend I wouldn't kick her out of bed know what I mean (HT to Deadspin). Yes, this staff deserves all the blame for what happened under Donahoe, Greggo, Levy, Mularkey, Jauron, etc. Change for change's sake never fails.
  3. I hope the staff is using more than one preseason game to grade Pears at RG.
  4. I don't know how anyone can listen to the level of detail that Kelso put into his analysis and surmise that he's just a paid mouthpiece for the Bills whose opinions don't matter. Of course, this is coming from the kinds of people who say that EJ doesn't pass the eye test, who say that he doesn't have "it," and look for every piece of intangible nonsense under the sun to validate their opinions. I have far more respect for someone who looks at Kelso's analysis and argues that it's going to be very difficult for him to correct what he isn't doing right, or that he doesn't unleash his athleticism enough.
  5. I have no idea why on a team with dwindling cap space, you'd invest vet minimum money PLUS, on a problem-child who thinks he's never done anything wrong, when you have Cyril Richardson in the fold being groomed as a long-term starter, and other serviceable options. I think moving Pears inside could really work out, Henderson should be able to hold it down at RT, and this is while seeing nothing from Kouandijo, Urbik struggling but probably OK depth, Hairston in the fold, etc. Wheeling in a powder-keg on the eve of opening day, to play as part of a unit where continuity is key? Sign us up, sounds like another classic, stupid Bills move!
  6. Watkins > Patterson Bortles is still an unknown quantity and we'll see what happens when the real bullets are flying. I am happy with where we are, but I am not surprised that a guy who thought the Bills should trade a HOF-caliber player for John fricking Skelton disagrees. Still on the Landry Jones train, btw?
  7. Perhaps a message board where each of us spends half the day is the wrong place for this criticism, but if any of us were as lousy at our jobs as Mike Rodak or his predecessor, I can't imagine we'd last in them for very long. That is, unless Rodak's real job is just to generate the clicks. In terms of presenting useful information, he's a hack.
  8. If by "right," you mean "talking out of their a$$," yeah, they were "right."
  9. I hope we claim every team's qb cuts prior to the next week's game. Inside info from disaster quarterbacks is the new market inefficiency.
  10. If Tim Wright is as good at murdering people as advertised, the Pats will finally have a replacement for Hernandez.
  11. "Look at me, guys, I'm dissatisfied with my entertainment!"
  12. It's a better strategy if the Bills are destined for Rob Ford's Toronto.
  13. So basically we're going to ignore evidence in favor of BS like "the eye test." The honesty is refreshing, at least.
  14. Remind me of how many years of success Bill Belicheck or Chip Kelly had as players.
  15. I'd still take Kellen Moore, who might get cut if Detroit only keeps 2 QBs (possible -- this is a Jim Caldwell trend). I know he is not a big arm but he's a smart and hard-working QB who has had big-time college success.
  16. No, Primus sucks.
  17. Ever the ray of sunshine.
  18. More like Championship!1!!1
  19. Be cool or be cast out, mfers. See, I think you don't have to have a perfect or smooth voice to have something musical going on. I know we differ on this, but Tom Waits sounds like's gargled a basket of nails and I still would rather listen to him sing than Donald Fagen. Hell, I mean, Josh Groban has a heck of a voice but is his music something you return to? To each one's own.
  20. Like, terribler than Tuel terrible, or Craig Nall terrible?
  21. Hell, when Favre had his painkiller addiction, same thing. I hesitate to open this can of worms but... y'know. So fresh and so clean, clean!
  22. You pronounced the W's incorrectly.
  23. Most likely, Whaley is in dialogue with Marrone constantly. Maybe Marrone thought Lewis and Tuel looked like they could improve enough (this is the only way you could really hang the situation on him). Maybe they had 2-3 guys ID'd and available that they really thought qualified as upgrades, and lost out on them. I think the draft is the one place that they could have gotten someone. I like KC's stable of QBs, but one notable aspect of them is that Bray doesn't really match with the others, IMO - he is a big-arm guy. If he is the one they cut out of the 4, I pass because I am just not sure he'd fit in. If Aaron Murray ends up cut, I jump all over that. I think they are going to try to sneak him thru somehow. The Rams' situation is far more like ours, and Shaun Hill is serviceable but a terrifying new plan A. It does go to show you just how much hinges on the QB.
  24. I wish it were more amazing. Too many posters are children of Madden, and perhaps too many making the conclusion that because the HC does the camp cutdown, that he supplies the roster with players. Andy Reid had final say on football matters before they hired John Dorsey. My guess is that Reid's opinion holds a lot of sway but that Dorsey must give blessing.
  25. The first step toward success is to admit that you don't know WTF you are doing, and throw a lot of darts at the problem.
