  1. Why stop there? I say, he's not even good enough to be in the bottom 25 of bottomest QBs!
  2. Maybe not his collage play alone, but when you take in the full spectrum of his work - the sculpture, the murals, the multimedia work, the performance art - Watkins really has the makings of an emerging American master. I expect a Whitney Museum retrospective in 2016.
  3. Yes, many professional talent evaluators believe that Watkins was the best player in a strong draft. If you don't like EJ, fine, there's an Orton train that passes thru town. Lusting after a guy who had a decent preseason seems premature though.
  4. Doesn't it imply that a reporter would have to be attacking EJ's play, or asking the player to defend it? The whole premise is ridiculous. I'm done contributing to it, personally.
  5. Just use our #1 on QBs two years in a row instead of drafting a generational talent at WR. COOL. He got drafted at 36. The only way to get Carr would have been at #9, or by finding a trade partner and perhaps shedding value on that pick. Also, he and EJ are winless in 2014.
  6. You forgot, "while chewing gum." The gum is critical. And what brand? Dentyne is probably an indicator that the praise is disingenuous.
  7. But take away the good year, and he's schitty. Take away the worst year, and he's less schitty.
  8. OK, well done, then. I was taking you seriously.
  9. But it's all about the QB.
  10. It's amazing how much better Orton and his team were with 4 fewer percentage points of completion %, fewer YPA, more turnovers than TDs, and less effective scrambling ability.
  11. For serious, why would anyone "defend" his play? Their job is to practice plays and get better at them. If asked this question by a reporter, their job is to be a good teammate, however they want to interpret that. My first guess is that every guy in the locker room knows they have things to improve on, and my hope is that they are too singularly focused on that to volunteer "defenses" to placate fans who are in search of a new problem to B word about.
  12. [/thread] Except I want to add: FFS, you people would have complained if he HAD BEEN NAMED CAPTAIN anyway, based on his not having earned it. Same wavelength...
  13. I'm sure they were afraid EJ was going to eff up the coin toss, and I imagine that they will have Eric Wood telling them what play to run, because EJ is such a girly man undeserving of the all-important captaincy.
  14. I'll settle for good body language in the press conferences.
  15. Even from the opponent's 35. So Bills.
  16. Well, that, and the situation in Ukraine.
  17. I hated the way Marrone threw the challenge flags this preseason, too. He was staring down the line judge the whole time, and then he just threw it at the guy's feet. Arm slot? Just dreadful. Hasn't he had a whole offseason of preparation and film study for this?
  18. He wasn't, he responded to Tucker on Twitter. I believe he is a player union rep, but I could be incorrect on that.
  19. There are sane people here. Seek 'em out, they keep the place fun. And it's more fun after wins. The negative suckholes are just that.
  20. Except the estimates have been proven to be off, and TPegs just sold land for about half that "highest estimate" -- land that he holds more of. I have it on good authority that this minor setback was part of the process of preparing this knee for 10,000 years of durability. Take heart.
  21. Is there some kind of point you are trying to make, here? Enlighten us.
