  1. As in, "more prepared to freeze up and take the sack"?
  2. I was pretty blown away by Sunday night's episodes. Tonight's were a little more tempered. The robbery plotline definitely had its weaknesses.
  3. Well, we don't know their cap situation for this year, but if they trade Rivers, my understanding is they take a big hit. They could also load up on draft picks for next year, which might be wise as this is not exactly shaping up to be a world-beater draft, anyway. It doesn't seem to me that they'll be hurting as much as you think, though they do have some funny money situations to deal with. Either way, they have the QB they believe in. I think a franchise-trade of Brees might not be such a bad idea. Remember they were thinking about dumping him last year, for a third, maybe a second-rounder. Now they are sitting on a pot of gold in comparison.
  4. I think the Broncs did it with Jason Elam before. I don't see Vinatieri having any reason to leave the Pats. We would have to give him ridiculous money to come to the Ralph.
  5. If Losman brings us one Super Bowl ring and the playoffs every year beyond that the way Favre has for the Packers, I don't care how he does it.
  6. And they're going to try and keep Rudi.
  7. How about those starting pitchers? How about a yawner of a world series performance?
  8. I think it's a brilliant move. They are going to up their revenue significantly by making themselves attractive to a Hispanic fanbase. Besides, these moves look shrewd next to signing Mo Vaughn.
  9. Caught it. I've never watched the show before and I was completely on edge for the whole 2 hours. I needed to switch to football highlights and Animal House during commercial breaks to put my mind at ease. Compelling and terrifying. Tomorrow night? Is it a new one?
  10. a thousand times, no. What an a--hole.
  11. I think it was the deadly hit in that Jets game. I believe Drew hasn't been the same, and has been more tentative, ever since. I think he ran on adrenaline, with something to prove, and the sheer energy of playing again when he began his Bills career. But later on the psychological elements caught up with him.
  12. Wow, George Pataki's a douchebag. Who would have thought?
  13. USMCBillsFan, I definitely respect the sacrifice you and your family are making for your country. I don't agree with the way your lives and work are necessarily being used by the government, but know that you have the support of your countrymen, who want you and your fellow men and women to return home safe.
  14. Well, the Blue Jays just re-signed Greg Zaun. So look out. Ahh, to root for a team that can't compete blows.
  15. I predict it will take me 2 hours and five beers to fall asleep watching the playoffs.
  16. Aiken is pretty similar in terms of his positives and his lapses. He can make a good catch, but then he runs for the extra two yards instead of out of bounds when clock time is critical. As for Porter, Burress, TJ, I think they all want at least #2, maybe #1 spots on a roster. I don't see us getting them.
  17. You can tell it's important, because this one has an article with the graph.
  18. Do you know what Belicheck's record was before the 2001 season? I think maybe we'll see an end to the worshipping of this guy after this year's playoffs. And maybe he'll wash his damned hooded sweatshirt.
  19. True enough, they are idiots. I guess it just doesn't make me feel any better.
  20. Yeah, it gets old doing the ol' "---" When I'm writing it, I feel like I'm one of those people doing the "quote with my fingers" thing, which I can't stand. !@#$, I'm doing it again.
  21. You know, there was a team that was 5-11 in 2000. In 2001 they had to plug in a guy at QB who hadn't seen any time at all and had to learn on the job. They went 11-5, made the playoffs, won the Super Bowl. Nothing is impossible, especially not in this league.
  22. Bill, taking potshots at PETA is like shooting fish in a barrel. Doesn't it get tiring? Or is this a potshot at a President who virtually invented the term post-Presidency with his humanitarian efforts? I don't get it.
  23. Aww c'mon, nodnarb. Stealing my line? For shame
  24. Neither of those guys impress me much as writers. I think Allen Wilson and Mark Gaughan are much better, IMO. Wish they would do more columns. Those guys know football.
