I was actually wondering if there might be some trouble involved once the higher-ups find out that Tony is working with Jack, seeing as how they still don't know.

I'm getting tired of this "Backup QB" stuff...
RuntheDamnBall replied to stuckincincy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, stuckincincy's Uncle was AWESOME back in the day. A little respect, PLEASE! -
Sounds like a lot of stupid haranguing on both sides. Can't they just say to honor the birthday or the 40th president and leave it at that? Obviously people disagree on his record and that of his successors, why get into the specifics? As for Fox News, good to see they're covering all the important topics of the day.

Here you go. And it was all from hard work

Nutter. -
Now that the two insiders on the plot (Powell, Marianne) have been taken out in one way or another, does anyone think that we will ever find out what their motives for involvement were? Were these people really evil enough to just do this for money?!

[OT]George H. Bush was deep throat?

I don't know, sounds more like something Clarence Thomas might be interested in... -
How about the Stooges for next year's halftime show? There's got to be a "No Fun" League joke in there somewhere.

You had to figure not since with Heller's son it still potentially served the plot as a possibility he knew SOMETHING, awful as it was. We all knew at home that Sara was innocent, and that made it worse IMO. In re: your statement about the witness getting killed, I haven't seen the other seasons but I kept wondering what they were waiting for to get him in the car. Also it was a weird finish to have Tony's "I'm unemployed" line for some humor and then an sniper shot in a matter of seconds.

Quite a hole blown in the plot with the two star connections to the attacks either incapacitated or killed. But it looks like they catch up with Barooz and the mother anyway -- via the defense contractor's cell records or thru the police wire? Looks like some disaster is going to be unavoidable. Did anyone else feel sick inside for Sara when they were torturing her? That was unbearable...

Bills sign Owen Pochman (K)
RuntheDamnBall replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This was one of the guys in the Niners' revolving door a couple years ago, when they couldn't make a kick to save their lives. I guess they are just signing Pochman as if to let Lindell know he could be worse. -
I thought I had the worst virus ever last weekend. I threw up 6 times.

The Sad State of the Left

I don't buy it. You can hold morals and religious values (not always the same thing, mind you) without legislating them, but rather acting in good faith to promote them with a politics of inclusion -- I think Mrs. Clinton is offering that sort of olive branch/example right now. You don't need to make new laws against everything you don't like, and set up and tear down ethics barriers when it's convenient, as the Republicans are doing right now. Real conservatives should have called for Tom Delay's head by now, but he pulls in too much bread for the party. As regards the example with Hillary, nobody likes abortions but they will always happen, and she has the good sense to know that making it criminal will only make things more dangerous and spring up a new criminal element in our society (kinda like the drug war, though with obvious differences). She knows that eliminating the word "condom" from our society won't eliminate the chances of unwanted pregnancies -- but nor will threatening peoples' religious values. As KRC and others have said before this is a real chance for her (and I don't know that I'd call her left) and the Democrats to stake some moral and rational high ground. -
Yes indeed. I loved seeing how Kim Deal was beaming throughout the whole thing. Very cute.

The Sad State of the Left
RuntheDamnBall replied to ubhockey's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
One person representing this country's values, or even this country having one distinct set of values, goes against the very nature of what this country is about, IMO. Yet, the Republicans pretty much have carte blanche to legislate the values of the religious right now. Are their values the only American values? I think some of the less religious libertarians who are in or supported the Republican party are going to be in for a shock once this happens. My hope is that they'll look for an alternative in the coming elections (and that someone, for God's sake, will offer one). Others and especially AD will tell me, I'm sure, that that's wishful thinking, but what do we live for if not to make things better? I think this goes hand in hand with what Mick was saying before in re: to Democrats' need to court the fiscally responsible, tax-cutting, socially moderate/liberal element of the Republican party and its supporters. The Democrats have been played like fools and have happily ceded any of the territory that they owned. I hope they figure out what the hell they're doing -- soon -- for the country's sake. And if the original post of this thread is not what PPP has become about recently, I'm not sure what is. More self-congratulation, which I guess is what's going to happen until someone figures out the secret. -
Lord knows football games need to be less affordable and more about opportunities to close deals in the comfort of the indoors. I understand the idea, sort of, for a party or for those who can't handle the cold, but it seems the essence of the game is just lost in the luxury box.

You can sign Kurt Warner to your fantasy team if you want to, but keep him away from the Bills, please. Warner wants to be a starter and he's not going to go somewhere with some kid looking over his shoulder again if he doesn't have to. He'd be better served taking a backup position behind a tenuous starter. And yes, I would take Drew over him. There's a reason Warner was stocking shelves for awhile.

If you're not proud of our Country RIGHT NOW
RuntheDamnBall replied to AKC's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The last time that was tried that they were called flip-floppers, if you recall correctly. The Democrats will find it hard to win as long as the American people are easily motivated by fear, soundbites and vitriol, and repetition of an idea until it becomes truth. The Republicans are more refined and experienced at each of these. -
Fox to screw with the camera angles
RuntheDamnBall replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, Fox makes a ballgame on the radio sound much more appealing. Too bad all the good announcers have seen their days and the medium has been corporatized to death.
