  1. Anyone know what top 5 money is for DTs? Not that I think Pat really merits it at this stage of his career (definitely top 15), but is it a lot? It seems like we would only franchise a guy if we wanted to (and reasonably thought we could, a la Peerless) trade him. The tag is more of an insult these days than a reward. Not happening. ATL is in a cap crisis.
  2. I think a better example would be a Matrix-esque situation where Wyche is loading the playbook and every possible defensive scheme into his brain, so he just knows what to do like that.
  3. Fender Tele Fender London Reverb Amp that combo works pretty good for some Neil Young tone My acoustic is a Seagull. Nothing special but it plays really nicely. Wish I could afford more in terms of guitars but most of my "music money" goes into recording gear.
  4. Man, I almost get as much joy seeing Flutie get sacked as I did Marino. I almost wish he was starting so it would happen more often. Agreed, Henry Jones deserves much respect.
  5. Steve, you realize you are close to 13,000 posts? I feel dirty with over 900.
  6. Yeah, I guess I should have said "other than Dallas." I knew that much, but was wondering if there were any other rumors.
  7. Someone didn't get his medicine this morning. Cranky, cranky. And my whole point was, I think that pursuing the Losman direction is the right move, I just think the minute Drew has any success at his next locale, people will complain. It's the nature of this board.
  8. I just looked at the 2005 schedule. Doesn't look like many teams we face would be interested in Drew's services: These teams have firmly entrenched starting QBs: Falcons Panthers Broncos Texans Chiefs Pats Jets Bengals Chargers That leaves possibly the Bucs, Raiders, Dolphins and Saints though none of those are sure things as to whether the guys there are in jeopardy. Drew doesn't seem like a Gruden guy, Raiders doesn't seem like it either (why take him over Collins), Dolphins have Saban, he's friends with Belicheck and he'd still have to take on NE twice a year, and the Saints probably aren't quite yet ready to give up on Brooks. Looks like it would have to be in the playoffs, if at all, that we'd face Drew. Anyone know the early line on where else he could go? I could see him being interested in Seattle if Hasselbeck flies the coop.
  9. Great press conference. Again, I'm sad to see him go, he's a good person, and this is a loss, for sure. I don't think he was the right guy for this team, right now, but he was a class act all the way. Write this one down. I have a sneaking suspicion he will succeed in a system that suits him this season. By extension, a lot of the idiots around here who can't take the longview will be insufferable for that period of time.
  10. Super Bowl. Car's a B word in the city.
  11. You mean 10-6 and playoffs, right?
  12. "You guys blew it." is pretty much all that is necessary.
  13. I'll bite. In your scenario, today we are talking about how RJ = JK.
  14. Hadn't thought about Couch. Is his arm healthy? There is a guy who could be looking to resurrect a career, and has been out of football too long to be a real threat to Losman, but he could be an experienced guy who challenges him (and understands the pitfalls of expectation).
  15. Most of the militant vegans I've ever met associate with a Left outside of the Democratic party. I really can't understand the argument that the Far Left is taking over the party. On the contrary, I think it has become so milquetoast and unsure of what it's fighting for that it has lost its way (and by extension, its votes and constituents). Say what you will about the Right (and if you don't, I will) -- they know what they want.
  16. It is indeed MSG. Good for us New Yorkers.
  17. A sarcasm detector, that's a wonderful idea. If you look at Pittsburgh, they have been pretty consistently successful from the early 90s on. Not that they have been perfect, and a lot of their success can be attributed to Cowher, but I think this is where Donahoe wants to take us. GW did set us back, but I think we are on the right track with Mike. 9-7, flirting with the playoffs to start has to mean good things.
  18. I am sad to see that it never worked out better (and never will) for Bledsoe and the Bills. I hope better things are ahead for all involved. Perhaps he will find the team with a system that uses his talents best and masks his deficiencies. In the meantime, I hope this becomes the great opportunity Losman and the city of Buffalo (and its denizens) have been waiting for.
  19. I liked him a few years back but it seems once he had his starting job taken from him with the Bucs he never progressed. It would seem to me a situation like that would have given him the hunger.
  20. How's about we level Mount Rushmore and build it up again, as Mount Reagan? This is the kind of stuff that's going to have me sending letters and postcards FedEx, never mind that Reagan himself didn't want his gourd emblemized all over, Stalin style.
  21. Pioli must have his reasons. And if Holmgren doesn't improve on last year's showing, I say he's gone and the job is still available to Pioli after his contract is up. Plus, it's a mess there with tons of players ready to leave. That said, I think Pioli is bonkers for not taking it. His stock will take a bit of a hit after next year's 3-13 season in NE.
  22. I think we're talking less about cheating and more about black magic here.
  23. A lot of other people argue here that because they can make 30% more for a loser, it's totally reasonable to expect them to leave. I agree, why leave when you're winning? Apparently because you have no perspective and you feed your family with Escalades.
  24. Yeah, it was great all those playoff games he won for us. Double-barf.
