  1. Couldn't you have written that in logarithm form to make it more understandable?
  2. It's the little, short one to your left. All aboard!
  3. I'm interested in your theories and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  4. I traded for Green at the beginning of the season because I had too many prime wideouts. I lost my #1 pick, McAllister, and now Green. Oof. Oh, and I drafted Culpepper third.
  5. Yes, they do have Favre, and that buys them a lot, but at least we haven't lost our #1 and #2 running backs for the season to injury. And it looks like Green could be done for good with a quad tear. Not sure many RBs with his mileage on them are the same after an injury like that. Their new RB depth chart: 1: Tony Fisher 2: old favorite, Rashard Lee Betcha they wouldn't mind having Lionel Gates right about now...
  6. Remember how people were saying after those first two weeks, "well, if JP didn't suck so bad and the defense wasn't on the field all game blah blah blah..." Well, the D didn't have old JP to kick around last weekend, so what was the excuse? Every game they've lost, the Bills have lost as a team. To answer your current situation, in the current situation, I don't give him that long before this line gets him killed, and the defense doesn't give him much of a shot to win -- partly due to injuries, partly to age, partly to lack of discipline. They are not the dominating D for whom he just needs to be an offensive caretaker -- that's OK, doesn't play to Losman's gunslinging strengths anyway. But I think he deserves a shot. Truthfully, as long as I sense an effort from the front office to give him the tools to succeed (and to be fair, Kevin Everett might have been part of that this year), I'd say give Losman two years with the expectation of some serious progress, possibly playoffs if we get a favorable schedule next year.
  7. Hey, adds up. They spent time getting paid to come up with this idea, probably went through a few people's desks for approval.
  8. If for some reason we can't lift them, we could always send a few D-linemen their way so they'll back right off.
  9. Perhaps TD should trade all his picks to get the entire fourth round so we can get 32 gems like Preston and McGee.
  10. But do you realize how awesome and hopeful you'd feel at the start of every cycle? [/sarcasm] Keep thinking it's the QB that's the problem, guys! (good post)
  11. Your tax dollars used to stop Onion from using Presidential seal...
  12. I recall a lot of conjecture that Marty had lost it at that point. I'd have to scour some articles. The point was that Brees magically became a better QB 3-4 years into his career. There is some context there. People here don't have that kind of patience.
  13. And Brees was benched for a 40-year-old midget. He was BAD too. Had a BAD line. BAD coaching. Sound familiar?
  14. Good post. Was Rusty Jones perhaps our biggest loss this offseason?
  15. Question, Talonz, how many years was it before Brees looked like an NFL QB? How much has Phillip Rivers proven?
  16. If I'm Mularkey, and am I glad I'm not, assuming we don't win at NE, I put in not only Losman at QB but Preston and Peters on the line as starters. Get 'em the reps. They will make mistakes, huge mistakes, but we need to see if these guys are the future. Then we at least know what we DON'T have to address in the offseason. Don't think it will happen because for some reason they are pretty enamored of Gandy and Anderson, even though Bennie esp has sucked hard. I also think a glaring need is for Mike Williams to get himself 100% committed to strength and conditioning in the offseason so he doesn't get the nagging injuries. Obviously, having someone roll over your ankle never helps, but maybe if he was just a little healthier these things would heal faster or be less prone to happen. Other needs: I agree with VA, something needs to be shaken up with the playcalling/coaching, esp on offense, and maybe Jerry Gray needs to move on. Things can obviously change this season, but I would recommend Wyche for OC (if he wants it), and bring in a tough DC who preaches discipline and will put these guys through the wringer. I hope Spikes can return to form, all I can say. A quality gap-plugging DT would be great. I've said before, if releasing Moulds doesn't hurt us financially, pick up an eager veteran WR with some skills left a la McCardell who won't cost a ton but will be more mission- than self-driven.
  17. No, I know that. See that I went on to agree with you. I've been citing Manning and Palmer and Manning all along, not as players of equal talent or qualities, but as players in similar situations. Favre too. Hence the quotes. Sorry if it looked like I was rippin' ya.
  18. Dude, we killed Houston. And you can't play the Pats the way you play an 0-6 team.
  19. Risk/reward. That's the folly this defense is built upon. We get 5 turnovers and we look like world-beaters. The other team plays a safe ballgame and we are f---ed.
  20. "But, JP will never be the quarterback Manning is, because, uh, he's JP Losman." News flash, folks, he's never going to be the QB anybody wants him to be until he gets the chance to prove it. And four games doesn't cut it. Let's take our lumps. I really don't care if this team SOMEHOW ekes into the playoffs with Holcomb by being just slightly better than a division full of chumps, and gets summarily destroyed in the first round. It will be meaningless to me. I know the whole world around here will buy into Bills fever if it somehow miraculously happens, but I want nothing less than a Super Bowl. Time to see if the kid can begin to point us in that direction. Perhaps we lose, hell, perhaps we get better draft position -- ain't the worst thing in the world, I think we have a few needs. All I forsee with Holcomb, especially with this line, is this team treading water (at best) or nose-diving.
  21. Pat Williams and the stout Minnesota run D are ranked 30th, one spot ahead of us. In 6 games, they've given up 4.6 ypc (5th worst in the league), 9 runs of 20+ (second only to you-know-who), and 142 rushing yards a game (3rd worst). Either the Minnesota D is missing Sam Adams, or we just needed an upgrade at DT, period.
  22. Started this in another thread, but thought I'd leave it out in the open. I'm going to say it right now: Eric Moulds, dedicated career Bill that he is, has definitely seen his best days in a Bills uniform. The guy has far underperformed for his salary, and I think we can do better with the young crew we have and perhaps a reasonable veteran FA pickup a la Keenan McCardell -- a guy hungry to prove something. I don't know what we lose by letting him go next year (both in the locker room and in salary cap space) but I think it's time to cut ties, with Moulds, and with the era he's represented in Bills history. Moulds has been here for an entire era of Bills mediocrity, and I'm beginning to think he's emblematic of it. Think about it. Solid play, but coming up short when he's needed most. I'd like to think we could get back to the playoffs again for him, but if he's a real team leader, he has as much say as anybody. I don't like to see much disrespect for coaches, but an offensive player knows when playcalling is the problem. I wouldn't mind seeing Moulds publicly get in the face of Clements or Mularkey to ask WTF is going on. I'm obviously not laying the problems of the defense on his shoulders, but at the same time his salary has the subtractive effect on personnel that might buy us the O- or D- lineman we need. Thoughts? I know this is a bit of an open-ended rant...
  23. Too bad we had to let him go for nobody.
