  1. Didn't you just say this? I'm going to forget this. It stands for itself. How many sets of rules does Wal Mart get to play by? Is Wal Mart right because the regs are unjust (so they can break the law)? Or should they obey the law unless/until it's changed like the rest of us?
  2. Then if the public agrees with you, it should be legislated by the government -- not by Wal Mart.
  3. If last night's game was any indication, even if they get there they're not going to be treated very well. Unless they see some kind of "win one for Marv, HoF coach-turned genius GM" story in there.
  4. Some nice thoughts and obvious issues, but one missing element for me is some kind of upgrade at the TE position. And I mean someone to replace either Neufeld or Euhus. I'd LOVE to think Kevin Everett is that guy, but if we keep Campbell, that means all three of our TEs have suffered ACL injuries in the past three years. If we keep Neufeld, it means we have to carry his dead weight around for yet another inexplicable season. Bring in a quality vet to take that #1 or 2 spot -- if Everett is really the man, pleasant surprise for us. But let's not bank on it yet. Kid still was only a third rounder, knee injury makes things more uncertain.
  5. Absolutely. Clark Haggans was getting a head start 3 times in that drive by my count -- and definitely on THAT play. But, you know, you only call 'em close when you have to. I seriously questioned why I even watch the NFL last night with such bull sh-- officiating. That red, white and blue is about the only reason these days. It's a damn good thing hockey's going so well and baseball is around the corner.
  6. You thought losing Pat Williams was rough on this defense? Imagine the demoralizing effect of that loss and multiply it by 100 and you'd get a rough idea of what losing Spikes and Fletcher would mean to the Bills' D. Particularly without reasonable replacements in line. If we ditch everyone over 30, we've got dead cap space up the wazoo. Last year would look like a parade compared to next.
  7. Naaah, the real thing would be better.
  8. I tried to take a doctor's prescription for Ayinger Hefeweizen into the bar and they wouldn't just give it to me. Bastards.
  9. See Plummer's vaunted offensive line crumbling under the Pittsburgh defense. See his run game disappear. See him force throws to try and save the day. Sound familiar? Pittsburgh has been airing it out lately, but make no mistake that their success is predicated on great defense and then a great running game, ushered through by a line that can do it all.
  10. Coming soon to TSW: Polls, posts and crusades from Cutlers_Arm.
  11. Even more reason for Jim Kelly fans to like him.
  12. Well, I truly think that Mularkey is a decent OC, who can function when his job is only to shepherd the offense under a strong HC. He was not able to take care of the big picture, just like GW. But I think he would come up with some really creative uses of Young, esp in a backfield with Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown.
  13. How many times do we have to hear, then, that this kid isn't going to make it? He's either going to prove it on the field or he isn't. Period. Let's at least give him that chance. Hell, let's give him at least one whole season. The people forecasting his doom, the people advocating trading for Damon freaking Huard for crying out loud, all of this stuff is preposterous. If my reaction was harsh, it's just that it's getting tough to even bother to read this stuff anymore.
  14. I think White is going to make a bigger impact than Bush. For one, he is likely going to go to a team with less problems, and I think his style is just a little more punishing. Give this guy a lane and he's going to kill you. Another guy I hope doesn't get drafted in-division (likely he won't as it would be tough to see him dropping to the Pats, Miami is already stocked and the Jets draft too early).
  15. AD was right. The offseason SUCKS.
  16. If his Bills career ends before he finds success here, it will be in no small part due to idiot fans and the knee-jerk reactions they tend to provoke. And yes, you should be reading something into that.
  17. What I'd really like to see is everyone spelling Jauron correctly. We've left the era of infinite variations on "Malarky" [sic]. "Jauron" isn't that tough.
  18. On a purely superficial level, as these things often are, there are definitely some serious problems with that list. Hilary Duff looks like a McDonald's waitress compared to a real woman like Scarlett Johansson. They aren't even in the same league.
  19. I just really doubt it. It's like trading in a '92 Chevy in for a '94, when you really want a Jaguar. Frerotte's is pretty much the same smart, efficient, low reward percentage game that Holcomb runs. Or at least it was before Frerotte lost his battle with a wall.
  20. True on all counts. Saints, help us out here.
  21. I'm pretty firmly convinced that in the hands of someone like Mularkey, Vince Young would be a player we would NOT want to face twice a year.
  22. Perhaps we could also see if Mularkey would be interested in those rock solid guards of ours. It all begins with the offensive line. We could send them a sixth and a seventh to draft their eventual replacements, just to be fair.
  23. with express-written consent of KTFABD.
  24. Sure. But why would Saban suddenly see the light now and trade a third to have Holcomb on board for one year when he could have signed him with no draft pick compensation last year? This scenario doesn't add up for Miami, IMO. But I'd love it if they'd like to be ripped off. Besideswhich, Mularkey has already seen firsthand how Sage Rosenfels can pick apart a (certain) defense. Perhaps he'll go with the younger hand. Or maybe they get Vince Young (shudder).
