Basic Foreign Policy Philosophy

I'd answer, but Mom and Dad have called me to dinner. -
Americans knowledge of 1st Amendment

Who's they? Do you live in Denmark? -
This one teacher in one classroom in Colorado is whacked and sounds like a bad educator. His student is a good little spy. Are there larger projections to be made here from one case outside of any context? In any case, all education is part of one or another sort of political agenda, IMO. Even math class. It's indicative of social values and the selection and framing of one topic vs another sets up a heirarchy.

Throw Bush to the rabid flesh-eating liberals
RuntheDamnBall replied to ASCI's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I stole BiB's weather machine and used taxpayer dollars to build a time machine. The combination has been marvelous. If we make it look like we have 3% power, we can control everything! -
Throw Bush to the rabid flesh-eating liberals
RuntheDamnBall replied to ASCI's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Referring here to the original poster, you've got the courts, the executive branch, the congress, control of the entire bureaucracy of this nation, and you still look to blame liberals or the left or whatever bogeyman for the fact that things aren't going swimmingly. How's about the people who seem to have all the power do something with it and start solving problems? It's unfortunate that that's impossible because the task of remaining in power seems to be job one. -
anyone out there interested in being our 16th and final contestant? This will be the last time I bug the main board about this one. PM me, please! First-come, first-serve basis, obviously.

I agree with Marv: real plan for playoffs in

If you're at RWS and you watch Coy Wire sub in for an injured Milloy, you'll understand the addition by subtraction in this case is effing frightening. -

I wasn't trying to be funny. I was trying to point out that Newbie appears to be a brainwashed character straight out of "1984." -

Dude should change his name to Newspeak. -
Would you pull the trigger...
RuntheDamnBall replied to Stussy109's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, and when your QB is the next one T.O. throws under the bus, and you have a further divided locker room, and he's suspended for another half season, what is he worth to you then? I'd rather this team paid ten million dollars not to have T.O. here. This is a ridiculous argument that shouldn't need to be refuted so many times. BTW, the NE Patriots have done just fine without T.O. and with a bunch of scrubs like Givens. -

I have the feeling I've just waltzed into a black hole of stupidity. -
This the inherent problem in adding any other QB to compete, isn't it? Two is probably more than enough. I'm not saying Losman needs to be coddled, and I'm not saying he shouldn't have competition, but there should be at most a 1A and 1B, then a distant third guy who knows his place (woodbury, perhaps?).

Mayor Brown's Vision for City
RuntheDamnBall replied to BILLS02138's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Naaaah. Could you imagine never having the possibility of snow at a Bills game? I'll never trade our character for a little physical comfort. -
That's all I need to hear. Losman can actually help this team out for the time being in that he can run for his life while our (hopefully) developing line makes its mistakes. This team hasn't been built for good pass protection since... God, I don't know when.

Think before talk? Does not compute at TSW. -
I'm more actually quibbling with the notion we should keep Holcomb, if Ramsey is indeed in the picture. I'd rather draft a young, raw-but-talented hungry buck in the fourth and pay him peanuts. No need to have both Bledsoe II and Noodle Arm on the roster.
-
sure, but you don't usually have three 1 million dollar qbs on the roster, at least, I don't think. Plus, Ramsey's contract expires end of this next season. What was Matthews costing us?

Mayor Brown's Vision for City
RuntheDamnBall replied to BILLS02138's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not usually one to think that football stadiums are instant revitalizing factors for cities, but if it were part of a revamped harbor in the same way that Baltimore has done it, it could be pretty sick. Who knows? I'd be happy if it keeps the team in town for a really long time. -
J Jones on the side of the Little Guy?
RuntheDamnBall replied to NavyBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm down using that as a model, especially if the Sabes win the Cup this year. I could almost use a break from football. -
Vernon Davis vs Kevin Everett
RuntheDamnBall replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure we should shorten Davis down to his initials when discussing him. It conjures up some Ron Mexico-like impressions. -
Yup. SD has done A-OK with a stud TE and no verifiable No. 1 receivers. I'll HATE to see Moulds go and do well with another contender, but that's probably what he deserves at this stage of the game. And our other guys deserve to grow and not to let impatient veterans derail the growth process. I'd like to see them get a vet who's been there a la McCardell or Jurevicius. It would go a long way for this team in providing leadership and level-headed patience. Right now Eric's the kind of leader you have to appease because he's meant so much to the team, rather than the kind of leader you look to follow because he's got the ring and just plays his heart out. This team needs the presence of a tested hunger for more, not merely the impatient, desperate hunger for just something, anything resembling success.

So who are the top wide receivers in free agency
RuntheDamnBall replied to BobbyC81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why not Jimmy Smith, really? He'd be good practice for Clements. -

I wouldn't forget no-huddle in the Carolina game. Looked really good till our "conditioning program" victimized Willis and co. -
A 7 Round mock I could live with
RuntheDamnBall replied to The Jokeman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's time we stop looking at what Mel Kiper and co. are going to judge us for and look at what's truly going to make this football team better. As I recall we've gotten some straight A's on draft day in the past and we've got plenty o' nuthin' to show for it. Case in point: by all accounts Dwight Freeney was not a defensive end worth taking at No. 4 in the '02 draft. But he was a football player that made his defense, and his team, a lot more formidable. Levi Jones is the best OT from that same (McKinnie, MWilliams) draft, and he was a reach at 10 or 11 as I recall. If there is an offensive lineman who will make this team considerably better, and he's supposed to go at 22 but we get him at No. 8, I couldn't care less about getting a B-minus from the pundits. I'm all for getting good value and trading down, but sometimes these things just don't or can't happen. That said, if Michael Huff makes this defense way better and the O-line comes together in other ways, I'll be just as happy. -
Anybody see the Vince Young Press Confrence?

If your object is to make BlueFire's head explode, you've likely succeeded. He's usually around for these 4am Vince Young posts.
