  1. I've mentioned this before, too. I like Evans as our Branch (and I actually rate him better than Branch) and if we have a lot of #2's duking it out for touches I like our chances, assuming they can catch the ball. Of course, if they can't, they should be on the first train out of here.
  2. That should be fun. Last night's show was indeed better. My wife and I were discussing whether Henderson killed Evelyn and daughter and they just didn't show it (too emotional, disturbing and not central enough to plot anymore) or if he let them off. My guess is the former as they did, after all, know the truth.
  3. It all begins to change with our first Stanley Cup this year, Kelly. Believe it!
  4. I hadn't seen the direct quotes about Willis and the run game. Whatever.
  5. I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed this. And I'm REALLY glad somebody on the Bills realizes how Willis was misused last year. Hopefully upgrades on the inside will help when they do want to run it up the gut, too. And, well, I think it's clear from my moniker I favor a great running game Could be Fairchild just saying the right things, but this says to me that they believe Losman has every chance of really winning this starting gig. I'm not saying they don't think the same of Nall, or even Holcomb (though I'm pretty sure they are aware of what they do and don't have with him). Mostly, I'm just happy they want to give Losman the opportunity, especially in the wake of all these stupid 'rumors.'
  6. Is that an airplane? I thought it was a winged Johnson.
  7. I'll be very excited if we can acquire the next Anthony Midget.
  8. Nor was Takeo Spikes. I expect a return to form from both.
  9. That's our problem, isn't it? If we didn't care so much about this team (not RW, mind you, I'm talking about the helmets and the jersey and all the meaning these carry for the area and those who've been a part of it), we wouldn't be forced into rooting for Ralph as a bittersweet means to the end of keeping the Bills we love. The way most sports franchises make municipalities and states bend over to keep them sickens me, but given the choice of no Bills or an overly demanding Bills that stay in Buffalo, I'd choose the latter every time. It's irrational and loathesome, but it's inextricably linked with fandom and that's the way it is. Perhaps there'll come a point when we just don't care enough. Certainly, more losing won't help. Who knows.
  10. I know a lot of posters here reserve some barbs for Chuck Schumer. He's not my favorite guy in the world, either, but I think as a senator he has his pluses and minuses. What do all of you think about his apparent going-to-bat for Wilson and the Bills politically? Do you appreciate it? Do you feel as though it's merely posturing? Do you like his effort, regardless of your feelings about the man? I'm not looking to provoke here, I am somewhere in the middle on it.
  11. I bought the center ice package for the rest of the season. The Connolly goal was worth the price of admission!
  12. One thing I'd really love to see at RWS is auto-flushing toilets and automatic sinks in the bathrooms. It'd definitely make things a lot nicer and it would probably conserve water use. People are slobs enough as it is at football games and this would go a ways toward cleaning it up and making the experience more enjoyable. I'd be willing to pay the extra few bucks this would probably add in ticket prices.
  13. We'd be in DAMN good shape if the above considerations are met. I'm talking smelling the playoffs. #1, #2, and #5 are big 'ifs,' but I'm not counting 'em out until we've seen the games.

Possible playoffs if Miami or NE blow it more than us. Why? Because it would make us all look really stupid for bitching about his hiring. If I'm wrong, what the hell. I'm willing to take it. If I'm right, I'm ecstatic. Hoping JP can prove me right.
  15. I'm still trying to figure out what this all has to do with Barack Obama.
  16. Players get injured, that's why. Security over bonanza payday.
  17. My first thoughts: I don't think Holcomb would take us on much of a playoff 'run.' It would be one and done and it would be no more satisfying than the loss in Tennessee or any of our other first round exits. I don't know why people think otherwise. The goal is to build a team that can win the Super Bowl, and no matter how long that takes, that ultimate goal is worth it. I would be somewhat more pleased before committing hari-kari if the Bills made another 4-time SB run and lost 'em all, but it would be as bitter as it is now. I want to see them build and win it all. Nothing less. Holcomb will not take us higher, maybe JP can, maybe Nall can. That Holcomb did just a bit better than Losman last year is not a shining achievement. On the contrary, that Losman improved to be just a step below Holcomb in an embattled year one says to me he is the guy this year, esp with less vets like Moulds tearing the team apart. On the others: Mularkey so horribly mis-used his weapons and this offense in general that it's tough to judge who truly sucked and where the play-calling just sucked. I think we could have a good NE style receiver corps if the QB can build a rapport with them. OG and C concern me, and I hope Fowler, Preston and/or a potential draft pick can shore things up. I can deal with Gandy and I'm excited to see where Peters goes this year. For some reason I expect McGahee to light a fire this year. Jauron likes the running game and as a defensive mind would like to control things using it and keep his D fresh. It would be really, really nice to see Gates used as a change-up. We heard a lot about this guy's talent and he needs to step up, IMO. Shaud Williams was just one of those dudes Mularkey liked to go to in really weird situations last year. He has some skills, but he's also really slight. Roscoe is also slight, but hell, so is Steve Smith. I'm not comparing the two, but there is reason to think we could make him a threat. FB is a hidden need for us. Shelton was not the Shelton of '04, and that hurt esp on anything where he was needed as lead blocker. His receiving sucks, and I wouldn't be angry to see them develop Goldsberry into the role or draft a guy in the 4th/5th. TE I'm anxious to see about. Everett is a major question mark and they brought in Royal for a reason. I'm hoping Neufeld's out the door, and Euhus hangs on as third TE in the Neufeld role. Perhaps one of these guys can get their heads and/or health together and be a needed safety valve. JMO.
  18. Was that before or after he breathed in all the alien particles?
  19. I'd like to see them drop some money on Vince Manuwai, RFA guard from Jacksonville.
  20. You do, but this thing won't be built in a day and in the meantime you need playmakers to build on. If Huff makes our secondary scary-good instead of a slight liability, you do it. Vincent, Huff, McGee and Clements would terrorize defenses. You're talking four guys with corner smarts and ability hawking the ball. The more I think about it, the more sold I am on Huff if we don't get a trade down. If Marv and co. see something differently and find the next Levi Jones or Dwight Freeney or something (a so-called reach that works), I'm fine with it.
  21. So what do y'all think we do with them? I'm thinking, not with names (though some in mind) it goes like this: 1. S 2. OG/C 3A. DT 3B. OT 4. LB 5A. OG 5B. WR 6. CB 7A. DE 7B. RB
  22. That ain't drinkin'. Genny Cream Ale pounders, now that's drinkin'. Drinkin' you'll feel tomorrow.
