  1. Keep us clear of Jersey, please. I don't think this team is ready for them.... at least not yet.
  2. Yes! Let's hope he is indeed clutch.
  3. Number 2 OG Max Jean-Gilles and a number of good DEs including Anderson and Adeyanju are there for the taking in round 4. Move up and do it, Marv.
  4. I'm not sure. McFarland thus far seems like nothing special, but so far he's pretty much been practice squad fodder, which scares me far less than Jerman starting as a fill-in. Not much word about Geisinger either. We'll have to see what these dudes do in camp.
  5. Now that is funny.
  6. The better news might be that even if this guy turns out to be tackle depth instead of OG starting material for us, we can get rid of the dreadful Greg Jerman.
  7. Merril Hoge also had a serious head injury.
  8. Jimmy also got the gift of Minnesota's stupidity and had that luxury of tons of picks to play around with. I would love to have seen how they would have done without it. NE, however, that's smart play with their draft picks. Their front office knows what it's doing. They buy themselves flexibility year-in, year-out.
  9. I can't believe Mularkey didn't get to him first.
  10. I do like JP. I think he has the arm, he has said all the right things and has not given any indication in the media that he is a problem, or cocky, in terms of being a good teammate. If you want to look at why that locker room disintegrated, look at the veteran "leaders" like Moulds and dimwit coaches who took the problems to the media and were always looking for the quick fix (whether it was starting, benching JP, etc, etc, etc). Edit: and, JP has been vocal about wanting to be here. I see a guy like Leinart pulling any string possible to get out of a place like Buffalo and into a place like LA or Oakland.
  11. In sunny Southern California. Try that arm in the swirling winds of the Ralph first.
  12. I know what you're saying, but he just seems like the kind of guy I can't stand to the point that I wouldn't want him on my team, no matter how good it is. It's a total hypothetical, but to me it's like Ray Lewis or Deion Sanders. I know they're good, perhaps great football players, I just hate their personalities all the way.
  13. Not a snowball's chance in hell he makes it that far, but he just doesn't seem like a Buffalo guy at all to me. Last thing I want on my team is some pretty boy who hangs out with Nick Lachey. He seems like a douchebag in the Brady mould, without having proven anything on an NFL field. I said trade down, btw.
  14. "MAX POWER! It's the name that you want to touch, but you musn't touch" Maybe with some music notes drawn in.
  15. Vincent Gallo says, "you'll always be Goon... Goon, Goon, Goon." To Philly, Heart Buffalo
  16. My wife is a librarian and she scanned a kid's libary card -- his name was, no joke: General Washington. I hope he is playing for the Bills in 15 years.
  17. And the trade down would be best accomplished when we see what the cards are -- if Vince Young or Davis or somebody coveted shows up at #8, we can likely drive up the value more than just an extra #2.
  18. PS -- I'll second others' opinions that the Mexican government has a lot to answer for with regard to this issue.
  19. In my neighborhood in Brooklyn, Polish speakers probably outnumber native English speakers 5:1. They can get by in English but speak their native tongue 90% of the time. They also have established businesses, are generally polite to everyone, and enroll their kids in public schools that are among the best in the city. Their kids learn English, they get along just fine, and their heritage is not completely checked at the door. There are probably around 100,000 of them in this area, about a third the size of Buffalo. I'm not sure why these people and others like them, who work hard and fit into our society just as well as anybody else, should have to ignore their culture and background when every idiot who's ever drank a beer in this country can claim Irish heritage and wear it like a badge of honor. It's OK to claim a background unless someone else does it -- then it's time to fall in line. For the record, I don't think Spanish should be taught as a first language in our schools, unless they're private and that's a conscious choice. But offering ESL should not be a problem, either. I love what this country is capable of, but we should make no mistake that it was largely built on the backs of a lot of cheap and slave labor by both unwilling and willing participants. Recognizing heritage is a small concession for us to make with that in mind. Getting a tax break for being Italian-American might be a bit of a reach, though. Short form version: this is a country of differences and I embrace that.
  20. If Brick is there at #8, hell yes. Or, you shop the pick for some monster picks if you've got other ideas.
  21. I can't believe the dude was out there for the beginning of the 2nd OT. Rory Fitzpatrick's sorry ass is saving him from getting a playoff-long benching. I was thinking he should be canned unless he got tonight's game-winner. Good thing Briere bailed him out.
  22. I'd address the interior line way earlier.
  23. I'd like to see Flutie return to the CFL, where he can carry one of their six Rough Riders franchises to another Grey Cup out of the American sports media eye.
  24. I've heard it's terribly boring. And be prepared to pay $40 for lunch at the Garden. I'll take it on TV, thanks, and I live in the city!
  25. Ahhh, "this morning" could have technically been 12am. Again, not as bothered by that one as I am by some of the others.
