Are you kidding me?
RuntheDamnBall replied to HereComesTheReignAgain's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Things are just fine here in NYC and in the capital district. I have no part in electing inept Erie County and Buffalo leadership. That area has done itself in in large part, and has done little to attract new industries and forms of commerce. -

Unfortunately the most-funded competitor he had was supremely unqualified. I voted against Hevesi, went Green. Fact is, until the third parties are putting forth enough effort and have some of the money they need to catch fire in these races, it'll be crooks vs. incompetents. I also disliked Cuomo and didn't vote for him. He's a d-bag for sure. He not only tanked a whole third party in the last gubernatorial election, but he is very unqualified as you say and has a bad record in some of his past positions. He certainly is a giant step down from Spitzer. However, to pin it all on downstate is ludicrous. And where do you live that things are so awesome? Last I checked NY and SF are perpetual hotbeds of innovation and commerce. Eff off. -
Congratulations, America.

Time to pick up a few more guns and fortify the stronghold, Bubba. It's going to be scary fighting the towelheads and the commies at home. Don't forget your duct tape. -
Couldn'ta happened to a nicer guy.

Have to agree. Love both stores. Whole Foods can be nice but they're too damn crowded here in the city and much more expensive than TJ's or Wegmans.

Naaah, hasn't done anything to deserve it.

Fun. Is there a "we're f--ked" option as well?

What can we say? Very polite post, and you've got a franchise that's what every team in the league aspires to be, perhaps absent the big one, which many (myself included) feel is just a matter of time. I'll root for Indy over NE every day of the week, the former with its Polian-designed team and two of the good guys and all-time greats in Manning and ('Cuse fave) Harrison. Your time outside of the AFCE has softened my opinions toward the team and even made me forget to an extent what jerks the Irsays are. That said, I hope that JP and the Bills can pull off the unlikely mission of stealing one from you this week. This game would mean a lot more for us than it would for you! I see the Colts in the Super Bowl this year. Thanks for posting.

I'd argue this: you can beat some really bad teams like Oakland with a scrambling QB, and perhaps the Bills should have laid on that a little more especially in the Detroit game, but you can't take on the league's premier defenses with this kind of game plan. They are far too fast. I also think that we're looking at a coaching staff that is essentially "rookie" as well. Sure, it has a lot of people with football experience, but it's their first turn at being in charge. What we need to see is progress there, not all the answers at once. I'm sure they're reviewing film and seeing what worked and what didn't, and what situations are coming up in which they need to take advantage of JP's different strengths and minimize certain weaknesses. If JP can make it through this year as that specific cog meant to accomplish specific tasks, if we see improvement over this second half as is the expectation, I think we can expect he'll be let loose a little more next year as his abilities become outlets for big plays, rather than bad instincts to fall back on.

More proof Americans are retarded...
RuntheDamnBall replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ed's not exactly the kind of guy to judge what's awful. I wouldn't worry about it. Obviously, because his side lost the American people are idiots this year, and he's looking to isolate certain cases. -
So now we'll get horse crap instead of cow crap

Well, that's a little reductive. A lot of the Dems elected have some nuanced opinions. Some are anti-abortion and pro-gun rights, others are more fiscally conservative, many have military backgrounds, and some are far more staunch on the border than Bush, a former border governer who welcomed the influx of cheap labor into this country and is working on a plan to validate that class. -
Veteran QB's for 2007

Maybe they have a case of Mad Buffalo Disease (sorry, man ) so bad that they actually secretly want another RJ just so they can B word for the next 5 seasons. -
I hate early projected winners....

Easy, not enough exit polling data, or the data they have is within the margin of error and thus they can't call the races. Now, if you want to say that the exit polling data is not as conclusive as advertised, that might indeed be true, and it'd definitely be a better argument. Just saying. -
Let's pick a new sig for gringo starr...

I recommend one from the Simpsons. Juvenile, but pointed: "hey, everybody! I'm a stupid moron with an ugly face and big butt and my butt smells and I like to kiss my own butt." -

Obviously they are going by exit polling and they feel they're confident the results are over the margin of error. They're not just basing it on the 1% of precincts reporting. -
The Collins era was good for about two years post-Gabriel. After that it's a precipitous drop-off into really cheesy 80s pop that's basically the Phil Collins solo career in everything but name. Gabriel's stuff was so much more interesting musically and lyrically.

Veteran QB's for 2007
RuntheDamnBall replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He'll cost a first and third round draft pick. Awesome. If we do this we will have expended -4 Firsts (one each for Schaub, Bledsoe, Losman, RJ) -a second (for Losman) -a third (for Schaub) -a fourth (for RJ) -and a fifth (for Losman) in our quest for a post-JK starting QB. And still absent any certain answers as Schaub is a guy who has little experience, behind a better line, with less mobility. Adding a first and third to the wastebasket means we will actually have traded away enough picks necessary to put together an entire starting offensive line over the past ten years. Are you guys out of your minds? The only thing to do if Losman really doesn't pan out, and the staff is certain that another QB will drastically improve the team's performance (i.e. that there aren't other, more important issues), is to grab a vet UFA QB with at least 3 more good years left in the tank. -
Looks like Sanitorium is out

The latter is obviously much cooler. -

So the guy who is so impatient with a young QB that he feels like starting the same damn thread 300 times on it wants to waste another #1 on a QB. NIIICE. I almost hope they do it just so your head explodes in three years when you're complaining about the failures of the next new guy. -
projected result is Casey wins.

Best thing for Republicans . . .

Even if you don't, she is dead right that it would be counter-productive and used against the Dems. I just don't see it happening. -
I think Diebold is just trying to provide a beautiful bit of fluidity, making the whole process a celebration of incompetence. Incompetent government, incompetent electoral process, incompetent voters, incompetent machines... What's not to like?

Yet More Evidence That Buffalo....

If the team is not considering it, it's not a controversy. It's merely a part of your little crusade.
