  1. Maybe, maybe not. Darius has been on the other end of some cheapshots too (that notable clothesline hit against Robert Ferguson a few years ago netted him a gigantic fine).
  2. Television: "Marquee Moon"
  3. I don't buy it. Rock'n'Roll wouldn't exist without the transistor radio, broken amps, and 3rd harmonic distortion. It's part and parcel of the genre. If you wanna be smooth, be smooth and call it "white boy wimp rock" or "wuss rock" or whatever it is the Doobie Bros. play. But rock and roll was never meant to be clean. It was always meant to be at least a little subversive. That's completely lost on a lot of people.
  4. Right now the Jaguars are taking it to the Giants. Or the Giants are just stinking up the place. Can't tell. Manning has thrown two INTs and Carter just put another one on the ground. I don't mind, I'd like a dose of false confidence for the Jags, and as long as the Bills don't turn it over I like their chances at home.
  5. Around Y2K they were going to re-issue that song but the final pressings had a glaring issue: The first letter "o" was missing from the word "countdown" in the cover art.
  6. We receive more evidence here everyday that freedom of speech means freedom to hang yourself in the public eye, freedom to look like a dumbass.
  7. Difference is it's bubblegum music that's in on the joke, at least. They are not the best R.E.M. songs by a country mile, but 50 worst-ever should be reserved for sh-- like "Save the Best for Last" or Rod Stewart's "Have I Told You Lately?" which has got to be the phoniest piece of musical drivel ever committed to tape. I want to simultaneously hang myself and light myself on fire every time I hear that sappy dreck.
  8. OTOH, I feel like he does actually learn from his mistakes, and the way he responded after that one to me was almost Favre-esque. It's the kind of thing you look for in your QB. I hope he can keep it going against better competition. If he can, then he is the QB we've been waiting for.
  9. No sh-- sherlock, he wrote "FNIA (Football Night in America)" -- I thought it was obvious. So did the poster. He was asking what network, etc it was on; if you read the rest of the posts this, too is obvious.
  10. Sorry, when you used the acronym I wasn't sure. You get some really obviously bad questions around here and it kind of seeps into the attitude. Apologies.
  11. pretty fine list, though gringo's FYC nod has to take the cake.
  12. Clue: start inside the parentheses.
  13. Even if it is, what the hell? Matt Leinart's team has sucked even harder for the duration of the year and they're still riding his jock in the media.
  14. Was I the only one sick of the really outrageous celebrations of routine plays on behalf of the Texans? Screw those guys. I didn't really feel one way or the other about them before today, but now they can officially suck it.
  15. I thought the same thing all evening. Hardly made any highlights at all. Brett Favre's team sucks, but he's Brett Favre so he and his game get attention even though it was a total dog. I'm surprised not only because of the stats, but becuase the way they won was exciting enough to merit some coverage. Oh well, screw the national football media. Their feelings on the Bills and on Losman have been clear for some time.
  16. I don't always pay as close attention to the football nuances that posters like AKC can catch. I'd say if he's impressed, I'm impressed by Pennington. I did notice I didn't hear his name today, which is as good an indication as any. I would, however, really like to see the run-blocking improve.
  17. I think Billick is just the sort of damnable fool (and right bastard) that would start all his guys in a statement of killer instinct. I'd rather see the Bills beat them at full strength, anyway. We were booking our playoff tickets with the Steelers' 3rd stringers as the only obstacle in our way, and we all know how that worked out.
  18. d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-DOUCHE!
  19. Poor citation of statistics. If the stat was that Indy gives up 160 yds to the lead running back all the time, that'd be one thing. But it's team yards. Different teams get it done differently. Sometimes those yards come from the QB, sometimes they come from a change of pace back, sometimes a team has a great two-headed attack like NE's.
  20. My friend made the same exact statement during the game. It would be a very reasonable change.
  21. Responses by the numbers: 4) the pass protection was superb -- though I wonder how much of that can be attributed to the Texans' lack of rush. They did manage to send a blitzer in regularly and it seemed like Thomas was able to pick him up most of the time, save for the impressive leapfrog play. 6) One thing I noticed was that even when there was a rush, these guys just didn't get their hands up. It's something they really need to start doing to create opportunities to bat and grab down passes. 7) Whitner was picked on early and often today. I noted the clutch tackle but he needs to go back to class for a bit; he definitely got schooled today and was out os position on a regular basis. 8) JP really showed me something today. It was as exhilarating a QB performance as I've seen post-Jimbo. 9) Nate was everywhere today. Let's face it, Johnson and Moulds are good and were going to do some damage. And our problems defending the run translate to problems dealing with screens and other passes to the backs. 10) We came from behind, won, took some risks and gave the kid the opportunity to make it happen. I'm hoping when we look back on this one it's seen as the game that got JP on track. I know it was "just the Texans" but we need those wins, badly -- especially wins of this nature that are inspiring. Always like reading your football posts. Go Bills, indeed!
  22. I'm sorry, man, the run defense is pretty horrid. What I am seeing is that they seem to have the goods in crunch time, at least for today, which is good, but they were definitely saved by some great opportunities and exceptional play by Clements alone today with the turnovers. A few things will really help this D in the long run: 1) A healthy Takeo Spikes another year removed from his injury. 2) A FA or draftee who can hold his own better than Tim Anderson.
  23. Nate has really picked up his game the past few weeks. I'm really impressed and I've kind of changed my mind on the idea of re-signing him. As long as he wants to come and play, he is one of the best. When his head is not in the game, it shows.
