  1. In his defense, the sound mix was flat-out horrible (which is generally the case in a dome where your feedback issues are compounded). His voice was about 10x higher than anything else in the mix, and anyone who's ever been a singer knows it's damn near impossible to keep in tune when you can't actually hear the music you're supposed to be in tune with. He was playing the guitar and he's still awesome, imo.
  2. I'll beat him to the punch: [Deluca] Loseman stinks! [/Deluca] What a dumbass.
  3. How did Carr do on his final drive, you numbskull?
  4. Whitner has played pretty well for a rookie thrust into the starting position pretty much from day one. He'll be fine. I actually think the quality of picks (save perhaps McCargo) was pretty high. All except for Youboty have STARTED this year. That's incredible. We've still got lots to see from Youboty, and Simpson is playing pretty darned well. My opinion? If you can lock up a good secondary right away you can compete in the AFC East. They're looking up at New England, a team that has destroyed them with the short-passing game year in, year out. This year we have played them a lot tougher. Marv may be learning the ropes to an extent, but he knows football. I would at least give him the benefit of a couple more drafts before citing trends.
  5. She's a beaut. Again, freedom of speech = freedom to hang yourself in the public eye. Her "broken window" analogy was complete horseshit. There is no guarantee with the purchase of a ticket that you will be satisfied or not offended. If these guys are telling the whole truth as to what happened, it sounds like Richards was a real !@#$ up there (worse than I thought, and that is really saddening). However, if there was no violent conflict, Richards has already done the worst to himself, by completely savaging his own reputation. The offended parties are not entitled to anything save for perhaps a refund of their ticket.
  6. Here's where I disagree with you Bill. How can you call anything Levy's done a "losing trend"? They picked DBs in his years as coach because they kept losing those players (to injury or otherwise) while they were able to retain the winning core in a pre-free agency era. And his years as HC were the best the Bills have ever seen. As GM, he has had one year and one year is never enough to indicate a trend. And if you're willing to cite Marv in the personnel choices during his HC tenure, what about Jauron's influence, then, as well? Surely he had some say in choosing players like Urlacher, Ian Scott, Alex Brown, Lance Briggs, Todd Johnson, Charles Tillman, Rosevelt Colvin -- a lot of solid guys, and not just CBs. In five Jauron era drafts, 6 first day O-and D-lineman were chosen. In the only year they didn't take one they landed Urlacher.
  7. Losing will save their franchise.
  8. Why then did the car companies go with an explicitly anti "plug-in" campaign? You can outfit a current-model hybrid to go plug-in and get upwards of 100MPG. Silly, I think. But I'm with you on that one.
  9. Really, it's a mindless chant of "GOOOOAL" and then a succession of "Heys" I don't think it's a song per se. Edit: Here it is. Imagine a lot of arms going up with all the "heys" and you get the picture. It sounds considerably more lame outside of the context of the arena.
  10. Well, this is just personal bias but I think people who drive those things think they own the goddamned road so I wouldn't mind seeing them outlawed one bit. And I usually see one tiny woman chatting on her cell phone driving these vehicles built for seven. You can't outlaw stupidity, but at least you could outlaw airbags in these things to speed the process a long a bit. The American people getting everything they want could very well be our downfall, is all I'm saying.
  11. Sure will!
  12. The problem I have is that our automotive manufacturers are not making more efficient vehicles. Again, because of economics the status quo seems to be the way to go. You need the "leftist enviro-whackos" to enforce better standards of efficiency.
  13. Shyah, because they like can't get open for sh--, like, dude.
  14. That's changing in a lot of ways. A lot of voices in the environmental movement in California and in Germany are moving toward a pro-nuclear approach. But then, you could read the news for that but it would get in the way of the opportunity to demonize another side because they're "bad for the economy." I want there to be an economy, and a world for that economy to exist in, in my grandkids' time. We are so short-sighted it's ridiculous.
  15. Peerless showed up for the fourth quarter, sort of like my friend "fourth quarter Dan," who shows up with some Entenmann's in time to watch the Bills blow it, usually.
  16. It sort of reminds of a Nazi rally. I know that's tasteless, but I definitely feel uncomfortable at any point during which the Rangers score, which is... weird.
  17. First off, Joe, I didn't LIE to anyone. So eff off. Second, this is one theory among many. If the CERA guys are wrong, are they LIARS propagating HYSTERIA, or are they just wrong and they get the benefit of the doubt because they're your good guys™ in this argument?
  18. I know what he's saying. It's just that he's just dead-wrong, dumb as a doornail and stubborn to boot.
  19. Regardless of what paid energy industry consultants say, oil will never be sustainable, always a stop-gap in the long term, big picture. And it will always pollute. The point is, just because it's there doesn't mean it's the best option in terms of whole cost -- economic, environmental, political, and the list goes on and on.
  20. How about: if only the blocking was so good every game, and the WRs showed up like this every game?
  21. Film director Robert Altman dies
  22. I bought one but it's in "ttrraaaaa-aa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ansit"
  23. Brown suit and monocle should do it.
  24. Did you really watch many Miami (Ohio) games? I'm not being sarcastic, but I wasn't under the impression Robo got a lot of airtime during his college career.
