Marv Levy Fan 590 Interview
RuntheDamnBall replied to TheZone78's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be defending the guy so steadfastly if he was a Seminole instead of a 'Cane. I didn't hate Willis but I didn't think his heart was in playing for Buffalo. Hopefully this trade is a positive for all sides involved, until the Bills have to meet the Ravens. -
ehh, lots of odd-man rushes in this past game and you can't really kill him for a goal off of Kalinin's skate. Miller's A-OK and will be even better than that come playoff time.

LMAO, what in the HELL, are the Ravens.....
RuntheDamnBall replied to Lv-Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going to disagree, not because I think Willis was total trash, but because I think he had exhausted his relationship with the Buffalo Bills and was not going to give it his best for this team. He could well turn out to be the guy the Ravens need if he is inspired to be his best. He was far from it for the past season and a half, save for a few select games and moments. -
*claps* Of course not. No one looks good in this whole thing, least of all the people reporting on it. Personally I just wish they'd stuff Bob Novak in a cell with a guy named Bubba; it would probably do society more good that convicting Libby.
-
1) Clinton = liberal? Really? What's Bush then? 2) You've got to be kidding if you think that the amount of play the BJ got (and still gets) is approached even the slightest bit by the amount of press the Libby story has gotten. The good argument against that is that it's the President so it obviously will get more play. But !@#$, I still hear Leno cracking stupid jokes about Clinton's sex life and we're almost ready to elect another president eight years after the fact. That and sex sells more readily as a scandal.

That's just wrong.

double standard in main stream media?
RuntheDamnBall replied to jimshiz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Crass as it was, independent of applying it to Coulter I have to say I've never heard that term before. I got a chuckle out of it. Guess I should get out more. -
No issue with him being a daddy -- I'm sure the women involved probably feel otherwise... But I hope these supermodel distractions take his mind off of what's going on onfield.

What Do Pats Fans Think of Us Trading McGahee?
RuntheDamnBall replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Then again, Jones-Drew ripped it up this past year and what was the guy, a second rounder? 60th overall? I think picking up Dillon then drafting a speedy back pressing for time would be a wonderful move for this team. -
double standard in main stream media?
RuntheDamnBall replied to jimshiz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm ready to cast one, and I'm not sure what your point is with the bundle of sticks. That's not what the word means to anyone now, and I'm not sure why you or anyone would be more apologetic about her use of the word than she is (and she isn't). She's an ugly, ugly person for what she says, and yes, I know there are people on the left like her, and they're just as culpable in this lousy mess that actually passes for political dialogue or statement among some neandearthal segment of the American population. I'm not sure where anyone who says the things she says can claim any sort of moral upper hand or class. She's got none of either in my book. And I have to agree with what XB says -- that she probably believes a good half of it and says the rest to shock. And she's got the freedom to do all of this, and I have the freedom to think less of her every time she opens her mouth. -
Yeah, why not? Like they say, two guys that can blow a blitz pickup are better than one. I have little doubt as to Willis' capabilities. When he's trying, he can blow somebody up, he can rock the stiff-arm, he can turn the corner nicely. When he's not, he's worse than Chris Brown or Rhodes or an aging Dillon. Sometime this year or the season before, Willis stopped giving it his all. I know WM had the rib injury and that sucks, but even though TH was an inferior player in terms of his gifts, I never doubted Travis Henry's effort on game day. Can't say the same for Willis. Daimon Shelton sucks and should have been gone two seasons ago. I hope the Bills are looking for a real fullback like Leonard this year.

Sabres were not the better team tonight. Miller kept it from being 5-2. Out of sync all night. Paetsch played his ass off. Not sure what the Kaleta-Mair-McArthur line was doing out there for what seemed like the whole 2nd period. Zubrus was pressing. They looked pathetic tonight. Good news is it's one game and they don't often follow them up with another clunker like this.
-
I kinda like it.

how's about wrt the Ravens we have a conditional trade, that is, a 3rd in this year's draft, another third in next year's if Willis re-signs or gets 1500 yards, something like that? Everyone's happy.

The best Tim Anderson can do is hold his own, that is, when he's not getting pushed around like a rag doll. He certainly can't penetrate the line.

24 Season Six Discussion Thread
RuntheDamnBall replied to billsfanmiami(oh)'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
It was always a bit unrealistic but in upping the ante they've left a lot of puzzling moves unanswered. If you raise the stakes with nuclear weapons in the show you would imagine the alert would be far more heightened and no one but no one is getting close to the President. That and recycling past moves like the consulate problem are a little tired. I am entertained, for certain. I just enjoyed past seasons (1 and 4, esp) more. -
Why would he be? TJ came to Chicago after Jauron left. Unless you're saying as a Lions D-coordinator he got to see Jones a lot.

What would it take to get Michael Turner here
RuntheDamnBall replied to taterhill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect, Shaun Bryson never looked anywhere near as good as Turner has looked. I'm still of the mind that it would take a lot for him to get to the next level. He certainly benefits greatly from LT's presence and the wear-and-tear he puts on defenses. But I'd take him over Bryson every day of the week. -
I wish that the 4-on-4 sudden death went for at least 10 minutes. It's such exciting hockey and it would promote more 'true victories' while not tiring the guys out a whole lot more like a 20-minute period would.

Do the Bills now have the worst defense in NFL?
RuntheDamnBall replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remind me, how did that work out for them? -
Yeah, you're right. Doesn't get much more attractive than this.
-
Sure... if the 9 will leave you for a wealthier, more attractive man in a couple years.

All the self-proclaimed experts I've read have had them rated: 1) Steinbach 2) Diehlman 3) Dockery

Clements signs with 49ers, 8 years $80M
RuntheDamnBall replied to Peter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It'd be hard to measure that as Lott was a safety. I'll agree with those who have said that Nate is very, very good, one of the better ones in the league, but has yet to prove he's an elite CB. For $80M that's what I'd expect (even if the last two years are basically voidable). It's been said before that this defense does not need top-shelf cover corners. My only hope is that we don't go CB first round in the draft if that's really true.
