  1. Glad you got to see this one. Watching the game in the future must have been awesome. Seriously, thanks.
  2. I woudn't call Fred a raw power back. Lynch displays far more true power when he gets going. I've seen too many times when it takes the fourth man to bring him down to believe otherwise. Ability is not a concern. The kid just needs to be 100% committed to the game of football.
  3. I wouldn't cut Lynch, but I think it's going to be a thought that crosses Gailey's mind at least once. Don't get me wrong, I think it'd be the wrong move, and I ultimately don't think it'll happen.
  4. Joique Bell will not slip through cuts to the practice squad. If they want him (and they should) they've got a find a way to fit him onto the roster. Lynch is going to have to impress when he gets back, I think, and that's if he's back before the season starts. Or, they could cut the fullback that they aren't using.
  5. Let's do some SAT prep. Lankster : "pretty good" :: Garbage : "delicious"
  6. Agreed on that, Dean. I'd just like to see him get some time with the ones to get a real fair evaluation of him. I think the encouraging thing is that we're seeing Trent play well (and I'm not a believer) and Brohm playing pretty well, too. Whoever ends up at #1 really needs to be pushed here, and we know from Trent's history that we need a strong #2.
  7. Anyone else noticing a LOT of low snaps to Brohm? It's causing an extra-split-second that is not helping him out.
  8. wait, this kid's name is pronounced "Joyke"? I'm disappointed. Nice run, btw, but let's hold onto the damn ball, kids.
  9. preseason week one autopsy: winning the Jake Locker sweepstakes halfway through preseason week two: SUPERBOWL!!!!!1
  10. they never went away. you just weren't looking. it's a good look for Trent. On another topic, having not seen any Gailey camp up close, that segment was pretty cool. I was remarking to my dad and bro that Gailey seems like a sort of Grandpa Gruden: a good teacher and positive communicator. I liked how much he was talking to the guys. Maybe that happened a lot in Jauron's camps, but it sure didn't feel like it.
  11. +1 to this guy for out-crayonzing crayonz. god, it's possible.
  12. Spoken like a man who obviously has no respect for the concepts of family or team.
  13. The similarities between my point and yours are non-existent. Also, if you required Bruce Smith to have get pressure on the passer in certain situations, nobody would be running the 3-4. I'll grant you that 3-4 ends aren't among the sack leaders these days but that doesn't mean Edwards won't be looking to our DEs in certain pass-rush packages.
  14. You're right, we've never seen a 3-4 end rack up sacks in Buffalo before.
  15. He's saying all the right things and coaching players up. He's doing this so well in fact, that he should probably stop wasting his time on the practice field and go get himself fitted for the Giants' Super Bowl ring that he's already earned. I hope Giants fans like ten yards' cushion on the opposition's most dangerous receivers.
  16. unless you play for Dick Jauron, and you save that 100% for Fridays.
  17. Best to both of you. Heal up quickly, PW86!
  18. When you have gone straight from high school to making millions playing a boys' game, and are about to become rich beyond your wildest dreams no matter what, shouldn't the quality of the job be the #1 thing? I've never lived as a millionaire and probably never will, but I feel like I probably wouldn't live much differently if I had "only" $20MM in the bank instead of $90MM, and that's not even close to the difference. As a basketball decision this seems pretty weak and a setup for a lot of scrutiny. On one hand if they don't succeed it'd be a colossal failure. On the other, the Heat should hardly be able to afford the quality role players that win you games in the postseason.
  19. I don't think that his NFL track record bears out your "facts," but in any case "mediocre" > what we had.
  20. Every recruit has to know their coach may leave for the right deal in this day and age. Just as an incoming college student has to accept the possibility that the prof they wanted to study with might be so good that he/she gets better offers and departs. Barkley has plenty of options. It's just as much on him and his family to evaluate a guy like Carroll and use their judgment as to how scrupulous he is in running his program. If you ask me, it's been fairly clear what kind of guy Carroll is, and what his priorities are (namely, himself) for a long time.
