  1. tell me why NYC wouldn't be more interested in Bills / Dolphins since they are the Jets' divisional rivals? Hate the Patriots so much. Even more, now. Guess it's McFaddens or something for me this week.
  2. I'm sorry, Simon, we respectfully disagree, and I agree with this. Fine if he's gotten banged up a lot. Save the drama for people who care, and either come play, or don't. The insane pressure and physical commitment comes with a very high price tag. We're talking about a guy who walked away from $6MM plus, here, to go play with some other team. I respect his situation, and respect the difficulty of the decision, but as a Bills fan I don't need to cheer on his parade of wishy-washiness.
  3. Again, could he be considered "rated" to begin with? I don't think the guy has ever pretended to be an artiste, nor has he been lauded as one. He certainly has one of the highest ratios of luck to talent I've ever seen in the music world, though. That's some awful music, right there.
  4. I disagree. How would you react if somebody came in after you'd been working hard to get a project going at work, helped somewhat to improve the project, but got another person (who had been on the project with you from the get-go) fired in the process? You might even harbor a grudge if you had to wait for this guy to learn how things actually work at your place for a few months, and got more credit for being the flashy new guy, while all you did was perform your job the right way. I know football isn't exactly like any other job, but Schobel has been wishy-washy about this thing from since before the end of last season. He's had plenty of time and he's given different answers on what seems like a daily basis. I respect that his job is demanding physically and that it's hard to play for a team that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. But if he wanted to reignite that fire he could have given it a good faith effort from the day he was released, instead of coyly wussing out of the decision and then deciding to join a team without having gone to battle with them over the summer.
  5. Kirk Chambers is the Rasputin of the Buffalo Bills. I'm with you, it'd be godawfuldepressing if the guy somehow found his way back into a Bills uniform.
  6. He really is trying to be the poor man's Bruce Smith. He'll come to play as long as he doesn't have to come to camp? Come on. I know Favre does it, and it's patently ridiculous, but at least the guy has numerous playoff appearances and a Super Bowl ring to back it up. What has Schobel done to prove that he doesn't need to play by the same rules? I'd be pissed if I were a prospective teammate on the team about to sign him.
  7. We can't PS another team's player unless he clears waivers, if I understand correctly. Bears have priority on that. He'd have to go onto the 53-man.
  8. I would like to have kept Bell but this tells me a few things: 1) they think they can keep him on the PS 1a) RBs are a dime a dozen in the league. Most teams probably have somebody they like at the position and are struggling to pare down their own rosters 2) The 3 RBs and McIntyre are going to be fighting for touches as it is 3) Bell and Simpson didn't excel enough on STs to help the team win now, a phrase Gailey uttered several times The way injuries go (and have already gone), it would surprise me very little to see Bell on the PS and then on the 53-man at some point during the season. It'd be nice to go into 2011 knowing there are four interesting backs to choose from, and perhaps through injury or stellar performance-in-2010-and-then-trade, they'll end up needing Joique.
  9. I can deal with the Boss' grandeur, personally, just trying to suggest that he's done some work that's understated and not at all overrated, for those that can't get into him. I agree with you, though, that's a nice record. Now the voice of Long Island, Mr. Billy Joel: there's a guy I find overrated. I can't find a reason at all to like him or his music.
  10. Bleacher Report : Sports Journalism :: Erik Flowers : Bruce Smith
  11. I think even if you hate Springsteen, "Nebraska" is a completely honest and great American folk record. It redeems any of his overbearing qualities, at least in my opinion.
  12. Nicely done, Mr. Wawrow. I was going to lose it looking at the lists of others. I like Genesis but definitely overrated. Dave Matthews is very up there, but #1 for my money is John Mayer. If I ever see that guy in public I'll coldcock him. You want to talk about a guy who acts like he's some kind of guitar god when you could locate about 100 "John Mayers" in practice rooms at Berklee? He's a MOR safe-haven for women who haven't graduated to Kenny G yet. His music sucks, his shtick sucks, he's not funny or cool, he's not an innovative or interesting guitarist, his crossover moves suck, I don't like him sucking around, bothering our citizens. I don't like his jerk-off name. I don't like his jerk-off face. I don't like his jerk-off behavior, and I don't like him, because he's a jerk-off. Do I make myself clear?
  13. The Bills could use breaks like Wang and Bell developing into at least competent, at best top half of the league tackles.
  14. You know, count me in on this one. I can echo the sentiments about wanting him when he came out of college. He's played for a couple of winning franchises, and if he needs time to heal, the Bills can give him that. They could certainly use him as depth and to push the starters in the long-term. When healthy, I like him better than Green on this roster. And I certainly like our depth a whole lot more with Terry in the equation, than with Jamon Meredith's one year of "experience" leading the group of backups. (It's scary just typing that!) Plus, "local" boy, sort of... From ESPN/ Scouts Inc regarding the Colts' offseason: Not a ringing endorsement, but not bad either. Full link be here.
  15. In the name of Gibran, the Hamdan and the Holy Chroise: Amen.
  16. I'll wager that Leinart's name came up, with Arizona dangling him and the Bills refusing. It seems likely to me that they would be discussing Fitzpatrick and seeing if some parts could be swapped, but ESPN is certainly going to run with any big name in the story.
  17. I've noticed his swagger and poise quotients have both increased by factors of 3.5. Seriously, he has looked better. I just hope, as another thread noted, that his awareness and pocket presence don't disappear the moment he's thrown in against the 3-4 again (which happens 10 times this season).
  18. Did anyone understand this Chan quote? "I have never anything less would happen to be honest with you. " (apparently re: Trent's bouncing back from a rough hit.) Edit: beat me to it, Dean.
  19. Lankster was a negative, too.
  20. I agree with everything you say, but could we just eliminate "poised" from the vocabulary of QB evaluation? The whole thing smacks of a Miss America pageant. Save it for the people who don't know what they're talking about when Mark Sanchez is inexplicably unsuccessful at costing his team a game.
  21. Jauron might pick him up for Philly. Never can have too many defensive backs.
  22. I hate to say anything like biggest bust ever, but that'd be a pretty awful blow to cut a #1 pick in his second season. You hate to give up on those picks. It might be warranted, though. Nix sure doesn't care.
  23. Simpson whiffed on some pass blocks, too. He's a nice enough runner, but I think the spot, if a fourth one exists, is Bell's to lose.
  24. tough to make that call if you don't watch the games. I started watching just when Brohm entered the game, and thought Brohm looked good, but all reports are that Edwards played well. Gotta root for the laundry, my friend, even if you believe in a guy.
