  1. So Nix wants to go back on his word and draft a one-year wonder? Or... he'll draft a guy who played in the Big 10 with the 87th best YPA in college football this year. Them's the options at #3? Yuck. I agree. Come on, if they draft Newton they'll finally have that huge TE, and then they can guarantee themselves Luck in 2012.
  2. Y'mean, when they didn't make the playoffs?
  3. But what kind of car does he drive? Also, I'm way more annoyed by Brady's constant whining to the officials about getting grazed during a football play than I am about any mythical dueling he's having with Rex.
  4. Better stock up on gum.
  5. It's unlikely but they've gone 2-3 a number of times.
  6. They could just as likely take AJ Green to bolster that anemic offense, or Peterson at CB.
  7. I guess. And certainly history has proven that Ralph's methods by and large haven't been successful. OTOH, might it not be useful for Chan to have Ralph's ear if there's something he really, truly feels he needs? I generally agree with you, though: strong leadership and vision in the GM's office should mean that there's a good intermediary and enough communication from top-to-bottom without interfering with the necessary daily tasks. Maybe Whaley grows up into that leader while Nix sets things in order? One can hope...
  8. they didn't when Kurt Warner was on, and then was dropped from, their roster. And this I agree with. He clearly has a lot of work to do if he's ever going to amount to anything in the NFL.
  9. ZOMG Fitzpatrick isn't Brady, Manning or Brees! Someone call the news.
  10. I hear you. But I also want a receiver more clutch than Stevie Johnson. You've got to admit there's a difference throwing to Reggie Wayne.
  11. Er... d'ya mean will he suffer a couple rough injuries, miss all but three games and still get a team to believe he's the #1 QB available?
  12. Kelly would throw picks at the worst possible time, sometimes. Baffling ones. I'd take him again in a heartbeat. Look at the record and Mallett indeed plays well enough to win, most of the time. Also, don't dropped passes have something to do with "sucking on 3rd down"? I am not going to advocate drafting the guy at all costs, nor will I say he is a complete product at this point. I think he'd do well drafted later on (no way he makes it to R2 with Luck out of the equation), sitting behind a guy like Fitz for 1-2 years. But if they draft him at #3 because they decide they can address D in later picks, so be it. I'll be behind him and I think he has enough potential to be harnessed. I think the right time for a QB like him would be after many more need areas are addressed; it just doesn't always happen that way.
  13. I guess we do see it differently. To me, he and Knile Davis were the only reason they were in that game to begin with. OSU is bigger, faster and draws more refined recruits in just about every phase of the game. Their defense was harassing Mallet all day. I think 9/10 QBs would have crumbled - not gotten their team back to within 5 despite having lead-changing passes dropped on multiple occasions. We'll agree to disagree.
  14. Go to Cali where you can get whooping cough again because people were too dumb to protect their children. Sorry, I have no sympathy for the anti-immunization crowd. Their kids are going to make many more kids sick, especially the ones too young to get certain immunizations.
  15. That's the difference between "played well enough to win," and "won." You don't even have to like Mallet to believe that. Team game, always has been. You're way too smart to count wins as a QB stat, aren't you?
  16. The good news is that if the Bills don't see a lot of talent differential between a guy at #3 and a guy at, say #10 - but some other team does - they might be able to pick up some picks. I see this as more of a possibility now that Luck is apparently not coming out. Everything shifts up a spot and some team will probably panic because of this. That used to be the Bills doing the panicking, but at #3 they are sitting pretty.
  17. Bleacher Report: making sportswriters out of 8th graders and formerly employed janitors. Honestly, I'd rather read LSI analysis again. Vince Young is good! We should sign him.
  18. Can 49ers fans stomach Harbaugh tanking a whole season to take Luck #1 in 2012?
  19. Uh, did he not have three TD passes dropped or something? He can't throw to himself. Rinse, repeat.
  20. Is Mallet Jamarcus 2.0 or Bledsoe 2.0? Big effing difference. Honestly, Bledsoe in his prime was not a bad quarterback. Not a great one, but a good one. I've not seen Gabbert enough, but is there no Mizzou homerism in this one? I mean that you've probably seen him and rooted for him too much to hold an objective opinion - not that he is not good, per se.
  21. Hence hoping for good luck rather than saying I'm confident about it.
  22. You must be a real hit at parties. the guy admitted if Denver picks the bills' man, it's tougher to swallow. But at least with comment #2 the idea is that the team has more money to spend on other players by virtue of spending less on an unproven rookie. This is especially relevant if they go back to a cap with the new CBA. As for #3, stop whining. It's tiresome.
  23. I don't think scrapping the 3-4 is the answer when they've begun drafting to accommodate it. I also don't think a malcontent like Haynesworth is going to ever be anything other than a malcontent. He has an attitude issue, and Gailey has way more important work to do than fixing an overpaid (and yes, talented) crybaby's attitude issues. Even though Jeff Fisher has lost his team he is not a stupid dude, and if he couldn't put up with Haynesworth on his defense, nobody can. It says it all that he has a problem coming to work to play, when he is getting paid a ridiculous amount to do so.
