  1. Oooooh, oh no you di-int. That was a shot heard 'round the world - one we were all waiting to hear, might I add. I hope our man from Clemson was listening.
  2. You're talking (several) different front offices, and if the turnover were actually as limited as you suggest, it'd have looked great for this team. That just isn't the case. Green's gone, and they are at least looking at a few different options. I'd be very surprised to not see RT (and OLB for that matter) addressed in FA/draft, but they did at least get a head-start on next year with a couple of former third-round draft picks who are already in the system. Given that everyone was as excited as they were about Incognito (and I, too, had hoped to see him given a shot), bringing in more first/early second day talent should be appreciated. Until they prove otherwise, what they have isn't good enough, but I'd like to think everyone is going to take big steps in year 2 under Gailey. I'll include the coaching staff in those wishes. With regard to OLB, even if Wannstedt is the "ILB Coach," I think he'll be weighing in on the talent available in-house (OK, "talent" used loosely there) and on the market. That has to be a good thing.
  3. No player is personally anything as far as a W-L record goes. Also, look at the 2009 schedule and tell me it was Vince and not the teams they faced in weeks 1-6 vs 7-16.
  4. I missed the part where Vince Young played with a terrible team and coaching staff surrounding him and single-handedly willed his team to victory.
  5. Don't tell me you guys are disagreeing with the expert analysis of Me-ion Sanders.
  6. Drat! I don't know, I noted the "Quality control problems." Will our QC coach be able to get those in order? Also, how is this space heater going to work in the locker room if a "few complain of a persistent unpleasant odor"? You've got to worry about all 53 guys in the room here, and hygiene should be taken seriously if the Bills are to be looked at as a professional organization.
  7. Just a Guy. He was most certainly nothing more in Buffalo, or Detroit. If Pittsburgh truly thinks they found a diamond in the rough, bully for them. I don't think so. I think you'll see Scott targeted in the next game they play. It might not matter because Roethlisberger is truly remarkable at making throws on the run.
  8. Oh God, you had to remind me. It's like on the way to the car accident they decided to pick up a few extra gallons of gasoline.
  9. If the Bills turn another 1st rounder into a 5th rounder I am going to fire a cannonball at Ralph's tennis court.
  10. It would be monumentally stupid to believe that a fourth-round pick coming off a season-ending injury, without one down of regular-season experience, is going to replace Evans, based on preseason results. You might compare this to believing that D. Bell could step in in 2009 to replace Peters. Whatever you think of the "overpriced vet," going into the season without great talent and a great plan B is asinine. If moving Evans nets pieces that make the Bills better, so be it, but I have not seen anything from Stevie Johnson that tells me that he's emerged at #1. He is a very solid #2 who needs to work on his hands. None of us has seen anything from Marcus Easley yet, so I can't even begin to comprehend how he replaces Evans in terms of drawing away coverage and pure speed threat on the field. Perhaps he can be more effective going underneath, but again, I'm waiting for evidence against NFL competition.
  11. Right, and how much space do you need to heat? And do you want a three-technique space heater, with variable temperatures, or a one-technique? Do you have two space heaters in the middle, or just one really big space heater?
  12. Ryan and Sanchez came in together. Sanchez was and is not a franchise QB yet in my estimation. He is learning. He has some tools and I like his confidence, but he has gotten the benefit of the doubt from everybody despite two up-and-down seasons. The upside is that most of the rest of the pieces are in place including both lines, most of the defense, and the running game. They ought to take a serious look at replacing Schottenheimer, though. He made some calls that really cost them their best shot at that game yesterday.
  13. I'm sure. If he had any, someone would have coaxed him out of retirement by now. He's got nothing to prove, that's for sure.
  14. You know I disagree with you on Newton, but the rest of this is spot-on. Green Bay, despite a bit of turnover in coaching staffs, has been a relative model of stability. Even with Losman they would have put him in a better position for success. I don't necessarily think he would have succeeded, but the percentages are in favor of a franchise like the Packers, compared to the Bills.
  15. I know I'm in the minority, but I think Losman's career might have had an entirely different trajectory in a Green Bay uniform. I don't think he would have turned into Aaron Rodgers, but I do think he might still be with the team that drafted him. Agreed on Wolf. One of the best ever. I really wanted the Bills to back a truck full of money up to his house before they hired Nix. Don't bring baseball into this, especially when you're dealing with non-repeatable stats that few respected minds in the game rely on.
  16. Some might say he's just going up against inferior competition, but really, he's all over the field intercepting offensive tweets. Is there a Pro Bowl of Twitter?
  17. I know in the cold of Buffalo you need these to play, but how efficient are they? Ralph is cheap, after all, and we all know he isn't going to splurge on energy this offseason.
  18. Hilariously enough, Jonathan Scott oozed down that particular bit of plumbing. Forgetting Green Bay in the 70s-80s, though? I mean, they didn't do better than 8 wins between 1973-1988, and only had a winning record in strike-shortened 1982. The Tony Mandarich pick? They've had their ups and downs. But what they've been really fortunate to get is a great QB at the right time, three times, now.
  19. Just spoofing the Cam Newton threads.
  20. That's like choosing between crashing into the mountain and ejector seat without a parachute. Scott had no heart and desire at all when he was playing for the Bills and even admitted it. Why we'd want a guy like that back is beyond me. Green was an unmitigated disaster, but Scott was and is JAG, who is functioning in a good Steelers system with a QB who makes everybody look better.
  21. Celebrating the failure of winners makes us feel like we're not so far from them. Would you like us to write sympathy cards to Ryan and Belicheck? Gimme a break. These guys stomp the Bills yearly, the least we can do is enjoy their failure. Barring that, the only other choice is turning off the TV after December.
  22. [Pulls a card from his pocket: "ALWAYS DO OPPOSITE OF WHAT 1billsfan SAYS"]
  23. I bet the Ravens wouldn't have minded if Stevie caught that ball. It could have changed the whole outlook of the playoffs, with the Steelers having to play on the road for all of January unless they ran into the Jets. BTW, I would call Roethlisberger and Polamalu key to the Steelers, too. JMO. The failed LT, Jonathan Scott, is still not a good LT.
  24. You're just saying that because he's white and fat. I'm sick of the bigotry on this board.
