  1. EXCITEMENT. Brought to you by the makers of Roscoe Parrish, CJ Spiller and Leodis McKelvin (he returns kicks!). FEEL IT.
  2. While he's at it, let's ask him to please name all the superstar WRs and CBs - I mean your "once in a lifetime" guys - on the last 5 Super Bowl winners. 06 Colts 07 Giants 08 Steelers 09 Saints 10 Packers Be real. Note that despite being very good, Hines Ward, Greg Jennings, or Jabari Greer don't count as "once in a lifetime" players. Then, for the hell of it, name the guys we DO remember off of all of these teams. It'll be fun.
  3. I'm not saying that I think Bowers is the right pick, but wasn't the ACC still weak when Julius Peppers, or BJ Raji, or Calvin Pace, or Chris Long, or Mario Williams came out? Hell, was the ACC any great shakes when Bruce Smith came out? It's always been a decent, middle-of-the-pack conference with a few standouts. It's always about the player. Where they come from is part of the analysis, but it doesn't end there. For example, the kind of QB I'd love to have is one like a guy drafted out of Alcorn State (without the personal issues and early demise).
  4. If the Bills have mastered the 3-4 it won't make a difference what the trends are. I just hope that whatever they do, they're good at it. Also, you play to an extent what the talent demands you play. If you had Ted Washington and Pat Williams, would you not try to get them on the field at the same time? Yes, you would.

  6. We should be able to find a good one at #3.
  7. Props to the douchebags who can sell a parking space for that kind of coin, and bigger props to the douchebags willing to spend it!
  8. Really want that "Endangered Species" Dolphins / no-symbol shirt.
  9. In Maybin defense, tackle makes you.
  10. Erik Flowers just needs time... give him a few hours and that lawn is going to look great.
  11. Can't someone dredge up a Billy Volek thread from the past?
  12. Me, too. I thought nobody ran harder for a little while there. He always gave you effort. I guess someone must have told him the end zone was full of coke and tail. He could have fathered a little league team in Buffalo.
  13. Utica Club: Meet Brain Cells. Have at 'em.
  14. Schaub would fit your bill (after Eli, Ben, Rivers, JP) I know he hasn't taken Houston to the playoffs, but I'd rather have him than any QB on our roster, and I am comfortable with Fitzy.
  15. I'm sure Fewell would have had "his guys," too. I doubt Gailey would have come in under that situation. Rookie coach with lots to learn; coordinators usually take heat before the HC, but HC's usually get the credit if they instantly succeed.
  16. Bill Belicheck with the Browns: 36-42. I am not a fan of Greggo or Meathead, and Jauron has had two chances to fail miserably, but many teams will rationalize that past failures were not all the fault of the coach. Certainly in the case of the Bills you could lay some blame at the organization's feet. To me that doesn't make these guys good coaches, but it does give a prospective employer a reason to dig more deeply.
  17. It really sucked that he drew all that double coverage to open things up for Stevie. It would have really sucked to have Evans in the NE game when SJ was a non-factor. I'm sorry, man, you can't show me a game like Lee had against Baltimore this season and tell me he's washed up. You can't. Does he need to find another level of desire? Maybe. But I think with a full offseason of stability in Gailey's system, you don't give up on him. You're selling low on a guy who costs next to nothing for a #1 receiver. That's stupid. Move him and I guarantee you will see him find success with his new team.
  18. Uh, the problem is that everybody in the universe had those two Williams receivers as highly rated receivers. McMillian [sic] was not drafting guys who were out of line at their draft slot. He was drafting guys who were out of line for the Detroit Lions at the time. Roy Williams in fact looked decent with a bunch of schmoes throwing to him. Mike Williams was a #1 overall-rated talent before his eligibility issues, and has finally emerged out of the wilderness somewhat. But going to the Lions after what happened to him in/post-college ball was never going to be a good situation.
  19. Thanks for this. Great post.
  20. I'm not worried if they're happy about those guys - I'm only worried if they suck, and if they don't stock up with more depth at those positions. Ideally, to me, they're happy with those guys AND they address RT and maybe LT or interior with another two picks. Line play is where teamwork is really revealed. Talent is of course necessary, but more time together in a system is pretty valuable as well. There are good lines across the league with a few first day picks, rounded out by FAs and late-draft/UDFA pickups. I don't think that's a bad model to follow. What is reprehensible is to go into a situation as they did last year, which is to say completely lacking in depth at critical positions. Kirk Chambers and Jamon Meredith is a pretty dreadful backup plan.
  21. We can be proud of ourselves for having the next Andre Johnson, or Eric Moulds. That's worth a lot.
