  1. Deconstructionist trash talk. By the way, after Saturday night, it's going to be their time, one hour earlier. Is anyone's mind blown? Is it time for time-change riots?
  2. This is our time. BAM. Oh, no, I didn't.
  3. Yo, I believe in myself, so you better just move along before things get nasty.
  4. "it's our turn?" "we believe in ourselves?" Christ, "free to be you and me" would qualify as trash talk with the thin skins around here and other parts.
  5. Define "music." They're no Humpty McGee, that's for sure.
  6. How can you not like shooting fish in a barrel?
  7. Is you taking notes on a criminal f------ conspiracy?
  8. You know who would have come in, cleaned house of all the dead weight veterans immediately and taken a my way or the highway approach? Gregg Williams. Gailey built trust here and let starters play their way out of positions while evaluating the whole. But because - holy ****! - things didn't all magically come to fruition in year one, some apparently fail to see the value in this. Bad teams take time to turn around, there are inevitable stumbles, and now, things look good way ahead of schedule. Just enjoy it.
  9. Every single player on this roster knows they are more suited for football than Aaron Maybin was when he was on this team. Rex Ryan cut the dude this season, for Chrissakes.
  10. Aunt Scho.
  11. Fair 'nuff. That does not surprise, in that I think the average NFL fan of any team is probably not all that with it and is quick to complain. But if you look at a lot of the teams that succeed, they do so because their individual contributions add up to something larger. This is not a stars' league, except for at QB, where I think you really can make the claim that a QB leads his team to the championship. Otherwise, it's a league where effective depth and strength across the board makes a bigger difference than any one player.
  12. This. If the team is winning, it's awfully hard to take issue with how individual players are being used. These are not jauron-quality wins the bills are racking up here; they are legit, especially where offensive production is concerned. Bills fans have to realize that one Fred jackson and a whole lot of good role players who contribute to the victory is a pretty great situation. Do you think pats fans were complaining about individual player contributions when the team was at its peak? That offense had a couple elite stars at QB/WR, good production from a GROUP of backs, and other fill ins that did their job well. It's a lot harder to get beat when every weapon is above average. I know we expect greatness from a #9 pick but if all CJ does is contribute where assigned to a winning effort, I am happy. Lose, and sure, then let's analyze who was underutilized.
  13. And daily news etc are out there telling the public that smith hasn't amounted to much here. In all those stats nothing about 3rd down conversions or first downs, many of them critical. If all the guy does here is get first downs, he's doing a good job. He is not doing less than he is asked, and when the time comes to ask more of him, with hope, he'll be ready.
  14. Can I get a WTF, or at least a confirmation of sarcasm?
  15. Agreed. Maybe a first-round bye in the playoffs gives them some time to install some new wrinkles? A man can dream...
  16. I think pitch out to Spiller is the great call. See where the D is stacked and go the other way, you've got a threat to either side and they can't account for both. If they really do, you've got an option to pass if you can make the read quickly. Fred, CJ and BS out there means you've got guys who can block and guys who can make a play.
  17. I understand your perspective, KD, but I also think you have to take the long view on this. They bought pretty high on Smith, but they are already getting bonus production, essentially from the 3rd QB position, via the new rules. That the Bills are an innovator here is pretty encouraging. Also, as mentioned by others, he had a pretty short curve to getting to know the playbook, and they will be able to design and install more plays for him next go-around. I still think you're going to see more of him now that a lot of the fundamentals are in place, and as we shift more toward run and run-options in the colder weather.
  18. I could see a chance to "go get 'em" this week for Brad against his former employers. I think he'll become more handy later in the year as the running game becomes yet more crucial. I also think a new playbook is probably going to mean greater returns (if not kick returns) and more opportunities next year for him.
  19. I wonder if, at all, Ralph's people - Bills people, NFL people - would float or hype up the threat of leaving town, while maintaining an honest stated desire to keep the team in town. If offers coming from an ownership bid willing to keep the team in town increase, to something competitive with a prospective owner who would relocate, all the better for the Wilsons. It would not surprise me to see these kinds of business tactics at work here. That's of course disheartening for Bills fans who just want reassurance, but it might explain some things, while not shutting the door on the team remaining in Buffalo.
  20. Oh, a sarcasm detector, that's a "wonderful" idea.
  21. Great point. Did anyone think the Giants were actually a better team than the Pats the year they won it all? Of course not. They had the right team and the right momentum for their time.
  22. Really wish I could pull out that "A bear ate my parents" link right now.
  23. If there was one thing I noted about Maybin when he was drafted, it was that he really would have benefited from being taken by a team like the Ravens, where he would find a specialized role and a lot of superior players to kick his ass. It sounds like he's found that in New York with a Ravens acolyte. Such as it is, good for him. I think the Bills were probably one of the worst places to learn and grow into a role in the Jauron era, and obviously he needed many things simplified, in order to excel. Jury is still out, but the only person(s) who deserve scorn here are the people who whiffed on the pick, taking a kid this young and unproven and putting him in a position of very high, perhaps unreachable expectations, with Skeletor and his minions "teaching" him the game.
