  1. So pay him what he's worth. It's that simple, if he's telling the truth about wanting to stay and it's not just PR posturing.
  2. Gailey could get a coordinator position in the NFL if he wants one. But he'd be foolish to not take the year off and collect his paycheck from Ralph.
  3. Probably speculation, but that list of unemployed coaches is short. There's Gruden, Billick, Holmgren, Parcells, Vermeil, Gibbs, Jimmy Johnson, Ditka, and Seifert, by my count. Anyone beyond the first three strikes me as too old, Holmgren strikes me as disinterested, and Billick is an ****.
  4. I realize it's probably a non-issue because Whaley would be in the mix, but does the Rooney Rule apply for GM positions as well?
  5. He's a good man. Wish it had worked out better for him here, but I think he got in over his head this season and didn't have many options to fix the personnel issues at QB and LB.
  6. Uh, I would take his record of "failure" in a nanosecond. I feel like I am in bizarro world when I read this stuff. Did Dawkins and Trotter go on to major success elsewhere? Couldn't it be argued that Reid made them stars? Come on.
  7. I don't doubt he's a good person, Simon, and I don't think that firing him today makes much difference than firing him on Friday, per se, but do you think he's earned another shot? I hate the coaching carousel, but many of his decisions have been far too puzzling this season to warrant a repeat performance. It's a shame because I think he actually has a pretty good offensive mind for drawing up plays, etc, but his play calling and his approach to the head coaching aspect of his job just seems off this season. I'd love to hear your perspective because I really thought Chan had promise, even after last year's slide. I do forget sometimes, as JW noted, this is a human being we're talking about here. That said, I don't think the bills are going anywhere without major adjustments that I am not sure Chan is willing or capable of making.
  8. It might not be in his interests to disclose Private Messages, but I can assure you Scott means what he says here.
  9. Pat Moran will drop the daughter he never had from a plane, without a parachute, if it isn't true.
  10. ...with Photoshop. She ain't bad but c'mon with that picture.
  11. Only dumb teams are going to be swayed by one game in something called the Pinstripe Bowl vs. the whole body of work.
  12. Sounds like the plot to an Adam Sandler movie, which lends credence to the rumor that Sandler might be coming here to coach.
  13. 9 - RunTheDamnBall - kills himself
  14. I think this is getting out of hand. New ownership is obviously going to happen, someday, some year, and we could even see the wheels being set in motion soon. But I have seen nothing from a credible source yet that tells me it's imminent.
  15. I like The Senator and know he's half kidding. No insults intended. That said, the Bills cost themselves more than they helped themselves today. On this I am firm.
  16. You also think we're going 16-0 every year and that Mike Leach is a phone call away from overseeing an NFL dynasty. If they want Jones they must draft him in R1. If they wanted Smith, they just lost him today.
  17. Ground up and in the freezer.
  18. Thanks for the research. The HC experience, even in the AFL and UFL, is encouraging.
  19. Consider that three spots higher would have landed us Roethlisberger, among numerous other examples. No one is arguing that drafting well wherever they are isn't paramount. But if you can't do the simple math of more players being drafted meaning you have fewer to choose from, I cannot help you. Draft higher and you control your destiny. Draft lower and you have less control, AND teams can trade ahead of you knowing your needs (as announced by our GM).
  20. The DJauron gold standard of 7-9 has been replaced by the T. Chandler Gailey standard of 6-10. We're up where we belong. I feel a song coming on.
  21. They beat the Dolphins which negates the divisional 0-6 part of your argument, and they just beat a Jets team that completely didn't give a sh--. There is some kind of honor in beating up a team that is laying down for you - and not even that handily? This will cost them s shot at this year's best Qb and I don't care if he's not Luck. Every spot matters. If they feel good about themselves because they won this game after throwing away many opportunities, shame on them. That you see the silver lining in this win is a symptom of Stockholm Syndrome. You must have been positively giddy when Jauron finished the season on a high note, compared to this.
