  1. I'll send a big bag of dog poop to OBD.
  2. Before this season, you wouldn't have had Wilson or Kaepernick in that sentence, and Cam Newton has as many playoff appearances as the Bills do during his career. QBs are found in many places - early in the draft is the surest bet, but not the only one. Most likely, I see Marrone targeting both a vet and a rookie that he likes. There is no guarantee that you get the guy you want in 2014 unless you plan to lose all games in 2013. Any coach or front office who thinks like that should be summarily dismissed.
  3. Bill in NYC's head explodes. Mine, too.
  4. Still think Geno's accuracy, arm, and very high TD-INT ratio, plus playing in WV all fall make him a great candidate for Buffalo. I would open up a training camp competition with him and Fitz or another veteran, and unless he forces the issue, I would let him sit and learn the game. But I don't think he'll be there for us to make that decision. Intrigued by Tyler Wilson and Zac Dysert, not sold on many of the other candidates; would be OK with Nassib in round 2 and furious with him in round 1. I hate the optics of rebuilding the Syracuse program in Buffalo, though. It's getting a little too close to Gailey and his Georgia Tech buddies, and really, only the Pettine hiring is keeping me from being more discouraged with Marrone so far.
  5. I'd top out at 4MM per but maybe give him more years and a mid-contract bonus that is good enough to reward good play, but not simply a trigger for him to be cut. That, and bid adieu to Terrence McGee unless both his body and Mike Pettine tell him he can play safety.
  6. Since Ralph includes haircare in the contract language, this must sit well with the organization.
  7. In fairness to the OP, "value" is in scare-quotes.
  8. Stay with me on this one: Time machine. We can waste our time trying to make deals with unwilling teams and players, or we could just mobilize those same resources in order to correct past mistakes. Then we could simply draft Flacco instead of just paying top dollar after some of his prime seasons. I won't be convinced that this isn't a good idea.
  9. He's really got that "Sam the Eagle" thing going for him. Ladies love it.
  10. Flacco was a pipe dream before he led his team to another AFC Championship game. I'd love it, but I'll eat my hat if he is on the Bills next year.
  11. Which he isn't. He's a QB that can run. We can't provide the defense part but I think the Bills' line, when healthy, could keep him just as clean, and the running game is just as good if not better here with a healthy Spiller + FJax (which we didn't have if you'll recall Spiller's injury at the top of the season). Consider how many drives stalled with Fitz missing a wide-open man, and I see a playoff team that could have been here in Buffalo, if we had drafted Wilson and stuck with him.
  12. Wow, most tone-deaf comment of the night. Without him, his team is getting blown the F out and doesn't stand a chance of "falling short." He's a rookie, bound to get better, and he is so much more than a running QB. He is a sharp pocket passer who has great awareness and makes plays with his legs.
  13. Would take him in a heartbeat. Complain all you want, he's in the playoffs (again) and the Bills are golfing.
  14. Man, he is going to totally screw up Sanchez.
  15. On one hand, I agree with you, as long as it doesn't kill the cap, but we've got Fitzy and another new QB, linebackers, and a few other things including basic raises to worry about for a few players, plus Byrd and Levitre. Also, you can't overpay players too much lest you run into a situation like Jason Peters seeing Dockery and Langston Walker earning way more despite being clearly inferior at less crucial positions. You can overpay a bit, but not at the cost of causing discontent. I do agree with the poster who says "this is a job for analytics." There's a value for Leodis, and probably a point at which he is not worth the salary relative to what a replacement plus that salary distributed elsewhere will yield, if that makes sense. Basically, if it's Ron Brooks at #2CB and we lose Leodis, OR McKelvin stays but we lose Byrd, I know what I'm choosing. The question as regards salary is: what will paying McKelvin prohibit the Bills from doing, once his salary eclipses a certain point?
  16. So you think it's more the plan than his abilities or his play? I think we've seen Leodis adhering to the plan pretty well - his coverage is right where it should be, but his hands aren't.
  17. I think we've seen enough to know there is never a sure thing, though. Personally, I'll be livid if they draft Nassib and guys that I think are undoubtedly better prospects are there. These would include Geno, Tyler Wilson and maybe Glennon depending on what kind of offense they are going to run.
  18. What price would you put on him? At what point is he too rich for your blood?
  19. Not sure about Te'o but the rest of your post is spot on.
  20. I think one of the more interesting developments of this off-season is going to be what the new staff sees in players currently on the roster, especially those headed for free agency. Placing value on some of these guys will be easy- Byrd, Levitre, for example. I think McKelvin represents one of the bigger challenges for the front office and Marrone because the talent is obviously there. He can run with anyone, but his ball skills are horrible and his ability to learn and adapt is really in question. What do you guys think? Will the team hold onto him, hoping he can really be molded into a great #2 CB now that some coaches of good pedigree are here to help? Will they balk at anything but nickel-corner money with a little premium paid for his return skills? I think we've all presumed he's gone after a decent season given the market and the fact that be hasn't really delivered on the promise of his draft position. Maybe Ron Brooks is ready. But I wonder if Pettine and O'Neil might have other ideas... What do you think will happen, and what would you do? If you know of replacements out there that you think the Bills might consider, throw their names out there, too.
  21. Those names sound like they come from the .
  22. And all that time with the Saints and Jets means nothing to you?
  23. That was very weird conduct with this kind of lead.
