  1. Oh, that's great. Then you'll have seen how he is accurate and his accuracy improved, and also that he put up points like crazy on some decent teams. Please, discuss in detail these negatives. You haven't proven anything.
  2. I'd rather have the guy that actually starts at Clemson.
  3. Wade goes on the good list despite the foibles. Mularkey is merely among the cream of the crap.
  4. So where does Geno fall on that list of problems for you? We know you don't like him, so provide evidence, and cite something beyond the Pinstripe Bowl.
  5. Fine with me. A DUI may not mean a person doesn't have good character, but it certainly throws it into question, especially when the guy has the opportunity of a lifetime awaiting him - one that will rely in no small part on the evaluation of his character and judgment. Your opinion is your own and you're entitled to it. Sorry to have touched a nerve.
  6. If that happens the 49ers should press charges for theft.
  7. You said that the person texting while driving had no such excuse! It's your own words, man!
  8. My predictions: - Defense starts to demonstrate that talent is there and Wannstedt had even less of a clue than first imagined. - Somebody emerges at LB, but we can't say we have three solid starters - McKelvin, if re-signed, will start - Nelson hangs on to the roster and makes a bit of a difference - A rookie QB starts sometime this season - Spiller gets more carries - The run D is an improvement but not top 10 Beyond that, it's hard to say anything because there are so many balls in the air at the moment. Levitre, Byrd, McKelvin, the QB question, who plays LB, whom we draft, who we sign...? I am not happy at all about the Fitz and TJ show, and I hope that a real viable rookie contender is brought into that mix and that Fitz does not see the field this year. If not, I expect a lot of open receivers missed yet again. Seeing this team get to the playoffs would surprise me. This Bills team played so unevenly last season that the ceiling would be a playoff appearance if all phases of the team were actually clicking at the same point, but it seemed like every time the offense was taking a step, the defense was collapsing.
  9. I just don't see how "I drank too much to be able to make good decisions" is an excuse, and I don't let either person off the hook. Both are making extremely stupid decisions. One of them is putting themselves in the position where they are more likely to make cascading bad or negligent decisions.
  10. Whether it's just as dangerous or not is a moot point. We know not to do it and it usually takes a horrific result or an arrest for people to wake up. A drunk driver is making a decision, while under the influence, that their own power or control over the situation is the most important factor - not the lives of others on the road or in its vicinity. The person texting while driving is doing something pretty much just as bad, but they can at least be said to be making a decision with a straight frame of mind. The randomness of fate when we are on the road should be enough to drive someone who is over the limit to call a cab. If you're responsible enough to go out and have a few drinks and handle yourself, you should take equal responsibility for yourself when you are over the legal limit. Wait an hour, get something to eat, drink some water, or call a friend or a cab. If you don't like the law, go change it. I think it's in place for a reason.
  11. The limit is not arbitrary, it's set to account for that person who has had just a couple of drinks. This is a bunch of BS excuse-making. If someone is fiddling with a device and it's resulting in reckless driving there are laws against that too. The person who does this with the result of an accident will be called reckless or negligent, as they should be.
  12. Being a dad really clarifies this for me. If my daughter got killed or seriously injured because some drunk (or high on prescription drugs, or whatever) **** thought he could handle his abilities behind the wheel - and it was too much of a f-ckin' hardship to call a goddamned cab, there would be no end to the suffering I would want that guy to endure. Ogletree is the lucky one here for the fact that there was no one on the road who ran into his recklessness.
  13. Gronkowski has as many Super Bowl rings as I do. I like the player, but carry on. So because the second guy was lucky, he is of higher character? I understand, he was more careful -- kind of. The most careful thing would just be to not be a macho dude and let someone else drive you home or crash with a friend.
  14. I think Geno Smith has plenty of arm. Glennon's and Bray's are superior, but I don't think it's Smith's arm that has held him back.
  15. And Michael Irvin was a cokehead, and so was LT. Problem is, you knew these guys could play and would come to play. And it doesn't become an issue until it gets in the way of winning. People have argued that the Super Bowl era Bills could have been Super Bowl champion Bills if they were more disciplined. Also, way to reference 20 years ago as an indicator of how to succeed today. I am sure that Joe Flacco is blowing lines in-between plays, Patrick Willis is out shooting up nightclubs, and Brady is taking time off from his supermodel wife and family to go get blasted and get behind the wheel of his Dart. Also, you're talking to a guy who still thinks it was dumb to trade Lynch for peanuts even though he had a bad rep. I think you look at these things on a case-by-case basis, but getting behind the wheel drunk is taking your own life (and those of others) into your hands. It is a problem that needs to be dealt with more severely than does PEDs in my opinion. Take a look at those Todd Helton pictures and consider that this guy has probably raked in about a hundred million bucks and is out wasted, driving and buying lottery tickets. I enjoy a drink as much as anybody else but alcoholism isn't taken very seriously in sports.
  16. That's some poor-ass judgement in the run-up to the draft. Pass. The bills have enough problems without having to babysit a grown man.

  18. I'm glad we're getting back to freaking out about signing camp bodies to fill the 80-man roster again. We need more things to complain about. I'll bet they're going to sign at least 27 people who won't even make the team. Buncha morons.
  19. Again, I saw better play out of Big Mike than I did out of Cornell Green, Langston Walker and numerous others. I don't think he was good but I'll agree that relative to expectation, his failure was greater than Jerman's. Jerman was still flat-out the worst OL I have ever seen start in a Bills uniform.
  20. Big Mike was not good but his flashes of potential vs. Jerman's "Jesus, someone might die today" play have to sway the balance. I could deal with Tony Hunter over Euhus.
  21. They should do a reality show where the other three school Trent Edwards in how to be a Black QB. (Yes, I know Nick Foles is not black).
