  1. We want to be the Patriots. I know it's fun to make fun of "Tommy" etc but I've grown out of it. I don't like to see them get any edge when they already possess many, but they are just a well-run operation. We should be so lucky.
  2. Surprising and, if true that he's being blackballed, reflects poorly on the NFL.
  3. That's a keeper.
  4. Seconded.
  5. It's not "off-point" to cite that one of the "most hated players in the league" is out of employment, and it wasn't just his laziness that got him there. The laziness was part of the total package from a guy who always believed that different rules applied to him.
  6. Canidate was a marginal NFL player, much less a guy who belongs in the HOF.
  7. It'd be amazing if Polian and Reed got in in the same year.
  8. Let me just say: If CJ's biggest problem is just that he wants so badly to be great, I think we've got a good problem on our hands. Hopefully seeing what Fred did out there helps. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bills-rb-spiller-eager-bounce-223145366--nfl.html
  9. Saying he's the #1 problem with the offense is hyperbole. I'll stand by that. The #1 problem with the offense is execution.
  10. That won't matter the next time he is suspended.
  11. I thought it was hot bi- broads, weekly. So confused.
  12. I understand that, but there's a point at which his talent will be exceeded by his reputation in the minds of the men who play with him. Take a look at Ryan Braun and A-Rod in baseball -- a sport where you are less dependent on the simultaneous play execution of your teammates. They are loathed right now. If they didn't have guaranteed contracts, I assure you that the teams would talk away from both of these players despite their talents and achievements. There will be a point where Suh becomes such a problem child that no amount of talent will matter. See: Albert Haynesworth. A 32-year-old stud DT drafted in the top 10 should still be employable in this league. There's a reason he isn't.
  13. No one thinks the fingerprint thing is a little, uh, Orwellian?
  14. My brother and I were talking about this. Our conclusion was that the Jets will, in time, be revealed to be not-that-good. Meanwhile, you take any losses that can possibly get hung on the Jets. With the possible exception of the games against Miami. Because if those dudes make the playoffs and the Bills dont, f--- that.
  15. And that's a total slap in the face to the other players. I wish, as did the MLBPA with the PED issue, that the NFLPA would "walk away" from players like this.
16. I've got to admit that I'm biased as I moved away from iPhone a few years ago - I had a 3GS and I was annoyed at how quickly aspects of it became obsolete. I prefer having removable storage that I can more easily back-up, and not being tied to my desktop machine and iTunes as the portal for all updates. Also, since I work in audio, it's terrific to be able to more cleanly sync with Google docs, download and open zipped files, etc. I also like how the GS3 sharing options (especially for photos) are super, super flexible. And once you go to a bigger screen, you really feel the difference. I miss the Apple apps base - which is still second to none, but I still enjoy it via the iPad, and I'm pretty happy with the decision.
  17. I think it was put to rest the moment it was issued.
  18. The next time something like this happens, and I will bet anyone $100 that it WILL happen again sometime during his career, he ought to get a season off. If he doesn't, the league is just giving a tacit nod to this kind of behavior to protect the image of a tough game.
  19. Agreed. It's a very lazy statement.
  20. Maybe not, but she is smarter than the average bear at building a brand and managing an image -- and sensing that that was the new way to make a career in the music industry. We buy it. I hate the game and the players.
  21. Free publicity all the time from the news media. We all need something to talk about, all the time. At some point, it'd be nice if we all woke up from the planned obsolescence slumber, stopped throwing lots of limited precious metals and plastic in the garbage, and demanded that these things become a little more useful over the long-term. BUT SHINY NEW THINGS. AND NOW THEY ARE COLORFUL.
  22. Really, did Butkus "go low" or stomp dudes? I'm asking this, seriously. I see no parallel.
  23. Pretty soon he'll be the type of player that offenses look at and say, "thank goodness he's suspended and we don't have to face him." The guy has put a target on his own back and you can bet that both the NFL and the players don't mind taking aim. He's a dirtbag. There's a difference between making hard hits and needlessly jeopardizing other men's livelihoods and physical well-being. There is no excuse for going low on that block. None. He cost his team 6 points, himself another $100,000, and his reputation as a person, whatever was left of it.
