  1. I keep adding, but, while I understand the desire to upgrade on Brown, no one besides the Broncos is going to the Super Bowl from the AFC this year. With that said, is it worth trading away a pick that could be next year's Alonso or Woods to net an upgrade a guard? Especially considering that we could actually get that guard with a 2014 draft pick?
  2. Wow, surprising about Monroe - he was thought of as a can't miss tackle at one point. Is he still? If so, only getting moved for late round picks seems like a big dump for the Jags, though it is his contract year. I haven't read up on the Jags or his performance. It would seem the Ravens want an upgrade on an aging and problematic McKinnie, though. To add: If a potential franchise LT with no restrictions on a contract extension is getting moved for a few late round picks, anyone suggesting that Byrd (who cannot be re-signed in-season) can net a first or even a second rounder is delusional.
  3. There you go again, looking for things like evidence and reasoned opinions. I am being sarcastic.
  4. How good has Brady made his current stash of "weapons"? You have to have some players who can play, and barring that, a rapport with them will at least help. Flacco really has neither. You'll find no argument from me that Flacco isn't overpaid, but I think he was very good last year. If a Bills QB had the same year you'd be jumping for joy. That said, the Bills won this game and made him look bad.
  5. They'll be screaming for Jay Clocker by Week 6.
  6. And that is the shame of this whole thing. I am apparently one of the few who doesn't believe he's faking anything here, but it would behoove him, financially, to get involved in this defense. I think it would look great on him and you're already seeing what the lesser players can do in this D.
  7. Soft-spoken, good looking, uh, my wife got a hold of this account.
  8. I am not downplaying a win. I'm simply saying that Flacco, being called a "$100 million quarterback," is a bit harder to criticize with few of his familiar weapons at his disposal.
  9. The safeties and LBs will have their work cut out for them with Cameron. They also have another dimension with Gordon back -- even if just to draw coverage away from Cameron. Hopefully they can confuse the F out of Hoyer and hit Cameron hard enough to rattle them.
  10. The funny thing is, their OL did not lose anybody, but they had a devil of a time protecting him. I do think that was in part because Flacco has lost a lot of his reliable targets. I'm happy for the win, but a fully healthy Rice, Pitta and Jones might have made this a much tougher game. Edit: well, wait -- right, Birk retired. That is a substantial loss by any measure.
  11. Go-ahead runs come on a Marcus Easley RBI triple.
  12. EJ work in progress Williams and Alonso rule 2 and 2 is fine
  13. Post yours No more Ray Lewis Let's get CJ out in space Growing pains, steal win?
  14. I'm no Yankee fan but that is definitely special in all the right ways.
  15. Most dudes I know who get all the chicks categorize them the way they would gasoline or a Burger King value meal.
  16. Maybe the problem is we don't have enough death on the Bills. Instead of taking a cap hit, we could hire a guy to do "cap hits" whenever a player like Fitz needs to "go away." Edit: Yes, I realize this is in extremely poor taste.
  17. I understand this. But we've seen it all. The mishandling of defensive schemes and talent alone has set this team back immeasurably. The many transitions mean your depth is suspect, and you have to fill holes that didn't exist before, meaning you can't afford to address longer-standing holes. It's a game of dominoes.
  18. I don't love TJ, but I would stop short of killing him.
  19. That sounds like an awesome way to retire.
  20. So are you saying that the donation to the refs was an empty gesture? Every little bit counts, if it comes from the heart.
  21. Or, as I've suggested, that your coach is a tool and might not make it for very long. We'll see.
  22. I know. Mostly, it's crazy. Oh, I'm sure it would. My quibble is more with the idea that he is "someone else's garbage." To me, he can be a viable NFL starter, still. There are good reasons not to really want him on the Bills, though if he were 5 years older and not still seeking a starter's role, he'd probably be ideal.
  23. That's Justin Rogers for ya.
  24. I don't understand how it's so crazy to want a guy with starter's numbers as a backup. Freeman would do well to end up somewhere like the Vikes. He would be an immediate upgrade over Ponder and might be able to do something with the running game that they have.
