No. Royal is the worst player. He has hands like a digital clock. I don't see the Bills going TE. I see a trade down in Round 1 for a CB then WR in Round 2.
-
We have Lee Evans at WR that is better than any WR they have. And I would take Trent and his potential over an overrated Alex Smith and his injuries any day.
-
Obviously he wanted more money than Buffalo was willing to give him. So instead, he took a one-year deal with a team that has a lot of second/third receivers. My guess is that he has a mediocre year at San Fran, becomes a FA again next year and still doesn't get the big contract. Plus, the Niners' offense has two below average QBs but a stud TE and RB. Most of the plays will be aimed at the TE and the RB even though Martz is now the OC. Even if they pass a lot, Martz prefers the faster WRs that can get off the ball quick. I think this is a poor choice on Johnson's part. Although I am proud of the Bills for not overpaying for him and can now focus on getting a better WR in a deep WR draft class.

8.5. Does she have something packing in her bikini bottom? If so, I reserve the right to change my rating. -
Im not sure about you guys, but I think Buffalo is closer to the playoffs than Carolina is.

Breaking news on Pacman Jones ....
CJPearl2 replied to RJsackedagain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw that. But my favorite part of Florio's article was this: "The giveaway is the semicolon in the last paragraph. Does Pacman Jones use a semicolon? Heck, he probably thinks the word refers to a medical condition." http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm -
I don't disagree with any of those assessments. But also remember that Atlanta and Houston have offensive-minded head coaches. I also think (much like the Bills' believe - as they have him (reportedly) #1 on the draft board) he may be the best or second best player in the draft and maybe the best RB in the past 3-4 years comming out of college. So now comes the age old question: do you take the best player available, or the player that will fill the most pressing need?
-
You make the point yourself. Look at the RBs you named. Norwood or Peterson? Chester Taylor of Peterson?( washed up and injury prone) Ahman Green or Peterson? Those teams would be crazy not to take AP if he's there. That is why the Bills, if they truly want AP, need to trade with Wash to get the 6th pick. And, Wash only has 1 first day pick, so they may be interested in getting an extra pick (2nd) or two (2nd and 4th) to trade with us.

Who? This is who: Vikings, Falcons, Texans.

According to Levy, we will not use a traditional FB on offense

Welcome Brian Leonard. -
What about this to address the RB situation
CJPearl2 replied to CJPearl2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This doesn't address our LB issue and Leonard doesn't slip past the Giants with their 2nd round pick. -
I just heard this from a close contact that works at OBD: That wasn't Marv at the press conference. Marv is napping. That was a body double.
-
Take Brian Leonard with the second pick (after a LB with 1st, CB 3rd) and Michael Bush with our second third pick (if still on board). Leonard can split carries with Bush and/or AT as a FB and would be a blocker, rec threat as a FB - much like the redskins use Cooley. Leonard could be an almost everydown FB/RB/TE. They could move him around as a FB/RB/TE from the backfield to the LOS while still keeping a RB in the backfield and Royal (or other) on the line. He's not a liability as a blocker and he is tremendously gifted as a runner/receiver. Think how much fun Fairchild can have with 2 guys out of the backfield that can catch and run. With the LB at 12, Leonard in 2nd, CB with 3rd #1 and Bush with 3rd #2 we would adress our four most glaring needs: LB, FB, CB, RB in the first 3 rounds. This is probably irrational, but sounded good at first.

I agree 100%. I think what Marv is doing is telling AJ that we'd be interested in a trade, but not for what you are offering. Not saying what he would or would not give up for Turner is exactly how you keep AJ guessing. Because let me tell you this, Turner at 2.5 mil a year and about 5-7 carries/game, behind the best RB in the league is not worth it. So AJ has to get something now before SD takes a $2.5 mil cap hit and nothing in return when Turner leaves next year.

The VY Hype Machine is revved up and ready...

From PFT: TITANS NEEDS A TUTOR It's been a bad week for the English language. Especially in Tennessee. On Friday, cornerback Pacman Jones referred to himself as a guy who "hadn't been charged with nothing." (Technically, his double-negative was correct.) On Monday, the agent for quarterback Vince Young addressed the superstition that the person who appears on the cover of the Madden video game franchise might have his season cursed. "We don't believe in no jinx," said Major Adams, according to the Nashville Tennessean. Now we know how Young got a six on the Wonderlic. (Actually, it was a seven.) It's not that Adams didn't get Young prepared for the exam -- it's that Adams apparently prepared Young for the test personally. Hysterical!!! -
I don't disagree at all with you. But I think the staff is happy with who they have and any more DTs - especially after the Walker trade- would be a waste of cap space when we need LBs, an RB, CBs, and possibly a WR.
-
I really think we have enougt DTs on the roster. We have much more glaring needs.

Should we try and trade for Clinton Portis

I am making a football point. My point is this: your post is illogical. -
Awesome.

Should we try and trade for Clinton Portis
CJPearl2 replied to marck's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Where do all these illogical trade concepts come from? Hey, what the hell, should we try and trade for Payton Manning? -
do they have connections with teams? I mean, do they actually have inside information on draft picks, or are they making guesses based on team needs, etc? Do they talk with scouts, gms, front-office people? And, I don't ask this so much for he teams with the first couple picks, but teams like Buffalo at 12. With the money to be made by draft guides and online mock draft sites, etc, I wonder how accurate these things are. Comments?
