  1. "Parker thought he had a barrel over the bills b/k they are a 500 club with only brad morman as their pro bowler. " Who the hell is Brad Morman?
  2. But it is one of areas that he can learn through practice and playing time. He has ballhawk cover skills, which you can't teach. Tackling will come with experience. Of all the negatives - and I agree with you that he needs a lot of work on it - I think this is an area that he can get better at quickly. And good point on Ellis. He has a lot of raw pass rushing talent. He could be a very good addition to our pass rush (which i think needs serious help).
  3. Seriously? A Kyle Williams jersey? Why don't you buy a George Wilson or DiGiorgio jersey too, while your at it.
  4. It may be the term of the contract. A lot of teams try to put an extra year into the contract and a lot of the players/agents fight it.
  5. Who cares? He's terrible. And I know a lot of people here love him, but watch last year's game film. He was constantly run over. I can't wait to have Poz back in there.
  6. Just reporting it. And it's more like a 1 in 3 shot.
  7. "The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that other teams potentially interested in Favre are the Bears, Bills, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Dolphins, Falcons, Jets, Lions, Panthers, Redskins and Vikings." http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/25802371/ http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/07/22/...ns-about-favre/
  8. Chopping wood? Seriously? What is this the 18th century? Plus, why would you be chopping wood in Jacksonville in the middle of summer?
  9. Try 3 months ago.
  10. Put yourself in his situation. What would you have done? Assume you didn't know you hit someone. Would you have come out and started to talking to police and the DA?
  11. PR hit? Maybe the Buffalo sports radio has focused on this, since the Sabres season is over and there is nothing else to discuss, but let me be clear, nobody outside of Buffalo (maybe only Mike Florio's website) cares about or are concerned about this. I live in California and as a Bills' fan was originally concerned about the neagative national exposure it would cause. But nobody really cares about it nor will remember it. Honestly, it sounds more like a bunch of bs from a drunk chick that wants a payday.
  12. Maybe not personally. But Im sure he put into the place the mechanisms to do so.
  13. It seems to me, and maybe this is a coincidence, that the Bills players are getting more national attention in all aspects of the media. In just the past couple weeks we have had both Donte Witner and Lee Evans - Buffalo's defensive and offensive leaders - do the rounds at ESPN. From "First Take" to "The Herd" to spots on ESPN News. And weekely, numerous Bills players join the guys on Sirius NFL Radio. In the past, these media spots were typically reserved for big market teams' players or higher profile players like Reggie Bush or Matt Leinart. Never our guys, right? So why now? We still haven't made the playoffs in a decade. Is it because we are a trendy pick to be a "sleeper" playoff team? Maybe. But we've held this mantra a couple times over the past couple years (i.e. Meathead's second season). I think there is also another reason. I believe Russ Brandon is using his background and expertise as a marketing guy to take advantage of the constant NFL player/team exposure. The NFL is the most popular sport in America. Bar none! It has easily replaced MLB as the national pastime. And Mr. Brandon is using this exposure to the team's advantage. The product is getting much better, the games are selling out at a faster pace, and such exposure is needed to add to our fan base much like we did it the early 90s with the Super Bowl teams. Bigger fan base = higher merchandise sales, more ticket sales (or at least more season ticket sales), and possibly (and most importantly?) more corporate support. The NFL no longer has regional fan bases only. This media exposure (over exposure?), the internet and its chatrooms, message boards, blogs, etc. have made the NFL and its teams easily accessible. So why not take advantage of it, right? Let's expand our fan base to kids and other NFL fans in non-NFL cities much like we did in the early 90s. I think we all questioned the move to make Mr. Brandon the GM - or COO for whatever he his. But the move seems right. The NFL is a business, plain and simple. And the successful teams are run not by just a good scouting department, but by good businessmen as well. And I think this is the fundamental reason for the Toronto games. Expand your exposure on a regional and national level while improving your product. Here's to hoping to works. So far, so good. Thoughts?
  14. This whole Lynch issue seems big because everything in small-town Buffalo involving a famous athlete is put under a microscope and dwelled on (I can only imagine what talk radio at WGR must be like). But the accident wasn't as bad as reported. If it was a serious hit-and-run an arrest would have been made by now. A week doesn't go by in serious cases without interviews or arrests. I know this, I clerked at the Erie County DA's office (albeit 9 years ago) during law school. DA Clark's remarks make it sound like this will be resolved, this week, without serious charges (most likely a misdemeanor, at worst).
  15. Sounds like the BPD is doing a real bang up job.
  16. NO. That is not what the offer was. What the offer was and what he will command are two different things. If the Bills offered $10 mil a year, we would be talking about a signing, not an offer.
  17. When was the last time PFW "heard it" the right way? File this under no sh--t Captain Obvious.
  18. I thought this thread had something to do with Buffalo's polish population.
  19. I never understood the backlash over the haircut thing. If I had his net worth I wouldn't get my haircut at Supercuts, would you?
  20. Holy sheet, you have a lot of free time. Nice work. Fowler's is the best. Ellison's second.
  21. ??? Didn't a draft just happen or something?
  22. Look what good that did us? Ill take some low character guys and the playoffs, thank you.
  23. You mean KU? He went to Kansas, right? Not Kentucky.
