  1. So isn't the answer to this question baked? Maybe half baked?
  2. Have you guys gotten to see Locker? Everything I've read sounds great, but I don't think he's been on once in the NYC area. How many/which U-Dub games have you gotten to see?
  3. Interesting point about Clausen playing away from home. They mention Bradford and McCoy playing in their home states, and you can add Tebow, Locker, Pike and Mallett (after transferring from Michigan). Trent Edwards played a few miles from his home, and JP started near his home at UCLA, before transferring to Tulane. Fitz, from Arizona, went to Harvard after not receiving a scholarship offer from his home state's schools.
  4. StL has used 2 of its last 3 first picks on DL, so not likely to go for Suh. Cleveland plays a 3-4, so Suh may not fit.
  5. Did anybody get to watch Locker yesterday? He had great numbers.
  6. What about Chicago, Houston and Dallas? Romo, Cutler and Schaub are good QBs. They're not great QBs, ala Manning, Brees, and Brady. But they're good.
  7. Fair points. Just to add to that, the top 10 defenses either by yards or by points are split 5-5 between 3-4 and 4-3. Which is why I don't understand the need to go to a 3-4. Edit: 7 of the top 10 in INTs and 8 of the top 10 in FFs are 4-3s.
  8. The following teams do not play a 3-4: New Orleans, Minnesota, Indianapolis The following teams have the best records in the NFL: New Orleans, Minnesota, Indianapolis Why do we have to go to a 3-4 again?
  9. "A coaching job" isn't "a head coaching job," anyway.
  10. Interesting. Some differences to keep in mind: Oilers were coming off seven straight playoff seasons when Pardee was fired. The Bills ... aren't. Fisher took over a 1-9 team and went 1-5. Fewell took over a 3-6 team and has gone 1-1. Fisher was 36 when he became the head coach. Fewell is 47.
  11. I thought I was Jauron.
  12. If you could have, then it's running up the score. Running up the score isn't always a moral inquiry. Sometimes, it just is. I would have, just because I think it's more satisfying to kneel on a 1st and goal than put another TD on the board.
  13. Owens was not running up the score. Jackson was. They could have taken knees at that point.
  14. Think about who you mean by "they."
  15. I watched Mallett last night. A lot of his throws sailed high. He has a gun, but that's about all you can say for him. He missed a lot of open receivers. He should definitely go back for another year, and that's what I think he is expected to do. If we're drafting in the top 10, the only way I'd give him a look is in the second round.
  16. This has been thrown around a lot, but is there any reason to believe it's anything more than a coincidence? By my count, four coaches got to the Superbowl with multiple teams and won it with at least one - Shula, Parcells, Holmgren and Vermeil. Of those, Shula and Vermeil lost with their first team and won it with their second. Parcells and Holmgren won with their first team and lost with their second. BTW, Ewbank was only 130-129 for his career, 4-1 in the postseason. He won his championships with the Colts when there was only one playoff round (the championship) and with the Jets when there were two.
  17. All credit to Scott. It's become painfully clear Whitner is the 4th best safety on the team.
  18. Really? Ehh? Who would get a wow from you?
  19. Hey Tim, Do you think giving Shanahan full control of the team would be a good move?
  20. It would have been nice for CBS to show a replay. I think it was a fake, seeing it once live, just because Denney was open to the left, where he usually is on the fake FGs. And it made some sense to go for 2 at that point.
  21. Did he misspeak on that one? I kinda like that phrase - doesn't make sense, but still gets the point across. Very Grampa Simpson-y
  22. Mike and Kyle Shanahan, following up on this morning's insider tease. Just a guess
  23. I don't have access, so I can't read anything, but if you want to take a look, go here: http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/index
  24. All for it, except Ferentz has repeatedly turned down opportunities to interview for the NFL. Last year, when he turned down a chance to interview with his good friend Scott Pioli in nearby Kansas City, most people got the message he was staying put in Iowa. Harbaugh, my choice, interviewed with the Jets last year.
