Do you see this as the same question as "what position should the Bills use their first round pick on?"
-
Just more support that you can never choose to walk away from a team. Anyone who proclaims they're done with Bills after hiring Gailey or keeping Jauron or using their 2010 first rounder on a CB is just blowing hot air. You'll be back.

"The Rams' brain trust is meeting in Los Angeles today and Thursday for the team's annual end-of-season summit meeting."
Ouch.

If the Bills switch to a 3-4, the OLBs would be Maybin and Schobel, if he doesn't retire.
-
My condolenses and prayers are with you Mrs Beerball.
Please change that.
Get better, Beerball!
-
Did anyone on this board know that Maybin was named to the freshman all Big Ten team in 2007?
-
Go back and read his column after we beat the Chargers last year to move to 5-1. He was driving the Trent Edwards bandwagon.
-
(This newspaper reporter, "Sully", sounds like quite the D double O ess H - BAG!
No that's not right.
-
On the one hand, he did a good job with the secondary. On the other hand, 31 other teams picked over our coaching staff and hired Fewell, Kugler, April and Studesville to equivalent positions and left Catavalos exactly where he is.
-
Bills haven't announced any hirings yet. The only ones that have been leaked are people employed with other organizations. So, it follows that the DC is not currently employed oe is not free to leave the organization.
-
Isn't that exactly why you'd expect this info to come from a source other than his agent? Supposedly Tebow is swamped everywhere he goes in Mobile, but no one saw him go to a hospital?

Just saying.
May have been mentioned, but if it gets a thread when he does poorly, I think this deserves one too.
From a completely disinterested source, too.
-
Wow, that came up here fast.. I just logged on to post it.. nice work!
So, does this mean they have a DC? it seems odd to piece together a staff without the coordinator...
Especially since the OLBs are affected more than anything by the 3-4/4-3 switch

might want to read that wiki again:
You're right about the president thing. I just saw it under the Panthers heading and got lazy.
But as for the dates, my point was he took a season off. So, while he technically started ten days before 2008, it was after the 2007 season. He sat out the 2007 season. So, something other than a promotion was the reason he left Carolina (which was my original point).
-
Colts offered him a promotion from just GM, to GM/President of Football Operations. He took it.Jerry Richardson, the owner of the Carolina franchise, didn't want an organizational system in which one person controlled all aspects of the operation. So although Bill Polian was probably the central person in the franchise he didn't have total authority, or at least the amount of control that he preferred. From what I understand he left on good terms and went to a franchise that allowed him to have nearly total authority.
According to his Wikipedia page, he left the Panthers after the 2006 season and didn't join the Colts until 2008. Also, he did hold the title of team president with the Panthers. So, neither of these explanations seem correct.

Does anyone want to talk about the merits of Troy Smith?
-
Does anyone know if tweeting something like that raises tampering problems?
-
I would trade Whitner for Smith.
Edit: Not that I think Whitner is that bad. But Byrd, Wilson and Scott are better.
-
Hey Tim,
Do you think the Bills might try to get Tyler Thigpen from the Fish?
-
alot of our ex players from this decade on defense were in the playoffs this season. greer, winfield, pat williams, leonhard just imagine if these guys were all on our defense right now on one team. how do we just release talent like this
None of those players were released.

As pointed out in the article, I think the Bills would stay in Buffalo. You've got two teams, one that sells lots of tickets and merchandise, and the other hardly ever sells out, and merchandise? What's that? If you know you can move the one lesser team and get a boost to the bottom line, and no one in Jacks would care, wouldn't you?
The difference is what the respective owners are saying. One has said he is committed to keeping his team where it is and has no plans to sell. The other has said he will auction it to the highest bidder after his death (and he's 91).
Of course, they could both say something else tomorrow.

Last season when season ticket sales were low, they brought in T.O. and it pretty much took care of that issue, and 2009 became one of the better ticket sales years ever.
Are there numbers to back this up?

You do realize McClain is the third linebacker off the board, right?
