  1. Hmm, let's think of some of the possible thoughts and storylines here..... ...the player that nobody wants playing for the team that nobody wants to play for. ...big time name playing in a small time market. It might be good for TO having less media around him. ...the team that needs another WR (#1 or 2) and there was none left to speak of until now. ...regardless of the outcome signing TO would be a marketing bonanza for the gate and revenue. ...both player and franchise feel that they don't get enough respect. ...both player and franchise have been to the Super Bowl and never won it. Both are running out of time to accomplish this. ...the guy is law abiding but is a total jerk and we have some "stars" on the team who are nice guys but break the law. ...the guy demands the ball and plays with passion. Who can you say that about on the team now? ...we haven't even been to the play-offs in a decade. What could TO possibly prevent us from accomplishing? Not being in the play-offs?
  2. If we are only looking for an interim receiver until Hardy can get adjusted to the NFL then here's the kind of acquisition that Buffalo might be interested in. He's tendered for the lowest amount and no compensation would be due. He's young and he's a great red zone target like Hardy. The biggest difference between the two of them is Martin has a few years under his belt in the NFL. http://www.packers.com/team/players/martin_ruvell/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruvell_Martin Check out this video clip. At the 3:40 watch the grab on Martin. He landed with 2 grabs for TDs in this game. http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d8041c954
  3. Don't worry about it, I heard that Ralph is using Jet blue and is saving a bundle on the airfare.
  4. Marvin Harrison isn't the friendliest of guys. I don't see him meshing with anyone but I wouldn't want to be the one who pisses him off.
  5. Is this supposed to be a FA list? I'm looking over all of the names and I can tell you now that not all of them are FAs or available. Sam Hurd and Miles Austin are RFAs and have been tendered for 2nd rders and Devery Henderson has been re-signed by the Saints. The last 4 or 5 on that list I don't know anything about and that's just it, why would we want considered?
  6. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/04/birk-to-baltimore/ There goes another FA!
  7. I was a REAL big advocate of drafting WR Jordy Nelson. Look where we would be if we did. I know that Green Bay drafted him before us but this was one of the times for us to move up in the draft.
  8. http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=7542 http://rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx Let's see what happens.
  9. The Saints have limited salary cap space and minimal draft picks. Karney is a blocking animal and that is what the Bills are looking for then this is the guy. http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index.ssf?/....xml&coll=1
  10. DE Kalimba Edwards.
  11. I still haven't heard you address Edwards' durability. A QB can't throw ANY TDs while on the sidelines injured.
  12. Me personally would prefer Quinn but more importantly is that I don't really envision Edwards leading us, mostly due to the fact that the guy can't seem to stay healthy. That is the biggest reason for this post, I think that Quinn is more durable and would be a better fit for our team, offense and climate.
  13. Thanks for your input, that's what I was wondering, the general consensus on Edwards being the proper fit for us. Both QBs came out in the same draft and while Buffalo wasn't looking for a QB early in this draft they still made the move when Edwards slipped to them. Under this regime the last few years the Bills' front office moved up or into the early 2nd rd or even late in the 1st. I think that this might have been a good move in this draft so that they could get Quinn.
  14. I think to a degree it does. I'd like to think that our braintrust are capable in our player evaluation. It's free agency time there has been quite a few coaching changes since last season. There's shuffling of players from team to team because the current players weren't the right fit for the new regime. I guess my question would be is do we have the right type of QB for our team? I think that we would have been better served if we had Quinn/Fitzpatrick tandem than an Edwards/Fitzpatrick.
  15. Quinn is more of a thicker body QB, like Jim Kelly, who might be better suited not only for our climate but also in the kind of offense that Jauron likes to run. I don't think that either QB has a big arm but physically Quinn looks to be a better fit for our type football that we are trying to employ. While Edwards might an intelligent QB I'm still not sold on his durability, he seems a bit frail to me and picturing him wearing that glove still makes me shudder. I know that Quinn landed up injured (against Buffalo) last year but that was just a finger smacking a helmet and that could have happen to any QB. Does any of this seem reasonable? Comments welcomed.
  16. Get an Adrian Peterson jersey. The guy is a stud.
  17. I'm not so sure about obtaining Holt but I'm all over telling Coles to beat it. The glimmer is definitely fading with this guy.
  18. Thank you Thurman for telling it like it is. I appreciate his comments and his opinion of Lynch. Normally this would piss me off if it were coming from an outsider but Thurman is one of us and he speaking from his love and passion of this franchise and community. Comments like this coming from a celebrity of our own can't but help our cause for improvement and restoring respectability to this once PROUD organization. Remember, we use to have a slogan "Talkin' Proud"! I haven't heard anyone mutter that in quite some time. Thanks Thurman for speaking up.
  19. Green Bay has a large graduating class ready to hit the open market after the 2009 season. I see 10 players that will be ready for a new contract. I have counted WR Greg Jennings, S Nick Collins, DE Aaron Kampman, LT Chad Clifton, DL Johnny Jolly and Ryan Pickett, CB Will Blackmon, and OL Daryn Colledge, Jason Spitz and Tony Moll and there may be more. I'd rather use a draft pick on someone who has played a few years in the NFL than to use a pick on someone who may not pan out. It also accelerates the learning curve. http://www.packers.com/team/players/spitz_jason/
  20. Yes. The guy has played in a dome, Coles would be a better fit. I wouldn't get too excited over this thought.
  21. How can he make our Qbs look much better from a jail cell or by being suspended? He's not worth the 11th pick. I say no! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?i...ce=NFLHeadlines
  22. Very insightful, I like it. I never had too much of a strong conviction either way concerning Reed until last year. To me he really showed some heart and soul, which this team is in need of in a big way. I for one would be sad if the Bills were to get rid of him now, he really displayed leadership skills in the course of a tough season.
  23. Great analogy but I think that we'll see a different result. If we don't then it's not from a lack of trying. If we don't land Coles then I do feel confident that this position will be addressed adequately.
  24. Forget this thread, I love your avatar! LOL!
