  1. That very well could be. I can't picture too many other AFC teams that it could be other than them or us.
  2. I thought you did by the way you disputed it. if you don't have an idea then why open your mouth?
  3. Well, who do you think that he's talking about?
  4. Take from it what you want but I think that he's talking about Buffalo. Schefter states that the only lukewarm response on Owens came from one AFC team that has struggled to find a receiver. “I highly doubt it,” was the response of two people in the organization, though some in the media continue to connect this team with Owens. http://blogs.nfl.com/2009/03/05/market-app...ited-for-owens/
  5. What is not to consider? This would be probably our best marketing ploy EVER for us. What would we be losing or risking??? We have everything to gain.
  6. I'm surprised that they weren't more warm and fuzzy about it, especially after another heartfelt apology.
  7. Here's an update on Karney if anyone is interested. The guy has a tough guy mentality and is a punishing blocker, something that we can use around here. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nflnation/0-6-1...-FB-Karney.html
  8. I knew that there was going to be no winning that debate. I think that Dallas has alot more at stake than we do, from a team and marketing standpoint. I don't believe that we would be risking all that much.
  9. Pat Kirwan of Sirius radio broke this down to where it was just a million or two. Take it for what's worth.
  10. People talk about him being a distraction to the team. What team? We haven't been in the play-offs in a decade, got swept in our division and we are flat out boring. What team chemistry do we have? I don't remember seeing or reading about any great team comradity. Oh, maybe some people are remembering that little blurp about how Whitner has taken some young players, Hardy in particular, under his wing. I'm not talking about a team because we don't have one. I'm talking about our offense and we don't have one of them either. We are in need of a big WR and here we have the opportunity to sign one of the top tier WRs in the league and everyone doesn't want him??? We wouldn't even have to use one of our precious draft picks for him, all we would have to do is pay him. I know that people are wary of him and for good reasons but we are not risking all that much. IF, and that's a big if, Buffalo were to sign TO, wouldn't it be ironic if this is exactly what we need? Small, fledgling market, one who the locals are up in arms about them possibly relocating, that would have instant national recognition. Ralph is all about the money, isn't that what the majority accuses him of? Well, what's wrong with pumping money back into this franchise and community? FAs would have to consider coming here more, especially if we were successful. There could be alot of benefits here folks. Isn't that what it's all about, our prosperity? I know this, I know that TO hasn't been congenial in the big markets but who's to say that this maniac couldn't be happy in a small market. Lord knows he wouldn't have a media crush to deal with. The guy is passionate and no one can deny that. Isn't that what we have all clung to as a banner, our passion? It wouldn't surprise me one bit if this guy got off on that. When a kid is troublesome you do one of two things, you either punish him and isolate him or you give him leadership and responsibility. The punishment route hasn't worked but being on a young team and in a small community just might appeal to his ego and sense of responsibility. Even if it doesn't there's still the revenue aspect of it that makes sense for a franchise/community like ours. On another note, I was listening to Sirius radio today and Greg Ellis and Ken Hamlin were on and both of them sang the praises about TO. Ellis even stated that he feels that Jones/Dallas is making a mistake. As a player and a teammate he said that no one works harder than TO, especially in practice. He's a player and I respect his take and aspect on TO. Btw, if TO were to land up in Buffalo I'd be curious to see how many of the Buffalo fans would change their tune. Initially I would venture a guess of less than 10% would be against this signing. * I was going to post this in the "To those who think signing T.O. is stupid" thread but it was closed by the time I finished this response.
  11. I posted this list on another thread. So far I have been pretty much on the money. Would nots- AFC East New England- They got Moss, they believe in team chemistry and they don't need him Miami- Parcells. Enough said. AFC North Cincinnati- They just signed Coles and and already have Ocho. Baltimore- TO jilted them for Philly, wouldn't be popular with their fanbase plus it's a military camp over there. Pittsburgh- No need with them having Ward, Holmes and Sweed. AFC West San Diego- Plenty of big body receivers over there with Malcolm Floyd and Vincent Jackson. Kansas City- Dwayne Bowe and Tony Gonzalez should be sufficent enough for them without adding a malcontent. They are too far away from being a serious play-off threat also. AFC South Indianapolis- No need even without Marvin Harrison. I'm not sure if they would have the salary cap room anyways. Tennessee- They just signed Nate Washington and they are primarily a running team. I could see Kerry Collins getting drunk and getting racial with TO. Jeff Fisher would go nuts with this tandem. Jacksonville- Thank Jerry Porter for eliminating them from considering TO. Maybe TO will piss off Del Rio enough and make him resort back to his playing days when he suckered punched Otis Taylor for crossing the picket line during the strike. Taylor was an administrator at the time. Now for the NFC... NFC East Philadelphia- Ha! Do I need to go on? Dallas- Ha Ha! *see Philadelphia Washington- They got Santana Moss plus they drafted Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas. They have other needs than just to focus this much on the receiver position. New York- They just got rid of Shocky because of his attitude. They already have a mess on their hands dealing with the Burress situation. This is Eli's team and it won't be TO's. NFC North Minnesota- Brad Childress was in Philly when TO was. I don't see this reunion. Green Bay- They have Donald Driver, Greg Jennings and James Jones. They also don't need him and they already are the survivors of Javon Walker. Why do this again? NFC West Arizona- They have too many receivers as it is. So the answer is no. Seattle- They just signed Housh-whatever-his-name-is, Deion Branch who they are going to keep and Nte Burleson. They also have one or two young bright talents, Jordan Kent being one of them. San Francisco- Mike Singletary would kick TO's ass by preseason! NFC South Tampa- They already have Antonio Bryant. I could see these two going at it, one thinking he's better than the other. Carolina- Steve Smith-*see Antonio Bryant. They also have Muhsin Muhammad who is a fan favorite and Dwayne Jarrett. Atlanta- They have plenty of WRs with Roddy White, Michael Jenkins, Laurent Robinson and Harry Douglas. New Orleans- This is the last position of need for this team. They just re-signed Devery Henderson and Lance Moore in addition to already having Marques Colston and Robert Meachem. Now for the woulds AFC East- We need a #2 receiver after just missing out on Coles. There is plenty of other reasons why we could use him but I'll let you argue that. New York- I suppose TO could go here. The Jets have been making big splashes in free agency and trades the last couple of years so I guess that this is very possible. AFC North Cleveland- New regime, new Mangini. TO could be Mangenius' mutant version of Randy Moss. In addition to the trade rumors of Braylon Edwards they did just trade off Kellen Winslow so an offensive threat is needed. AFC West Oakland- What better place than this bizarro world of Al Davis? This has to be one of the favorite places for TO to land up. Denver- Does Josh McDaniels' offense need a Randy Moss type receiver? He has one in Brandon Marshall but who knows whats going on with this headcase and how they feel about him. AFC South Houston- They have Andre Johnson with a very competent Kevin Walter abd Jacoby Jones in the slot but maybe they could be interested. I'll give this team as a possibility. Now for the NFC NFC North Detroit- Oh yeah, anything is possible with them, especially when it comes to receivers. What better than to fleece Jerry Jones of a 1st, 3rd and 6th rd picks for the replacement of the the guy they're replacing?! Yeah, figure that one out! Chicago- I can't say yes and I can't say no to this team and that's why they are a possibility for the services of TO. NFC West St Louis- If Torry Holt is unhappy then why not replace him with another unhappy receiver? A perfect fit if you ask me. So there you have it! Where does TO land up, you tell me.
  12. Get TO in here, I'd love to see him slapping that cadaver Jauron around on the sidelines! Let's go thru what teams would and would not take TO. Would nots- AFC East New England- They got Moss, they believe in team chemistry and they don't need him Miami- Parcells. Enough said. 13. He's a Bill to me and I hope he goes down there in the bayous and kicks some ass! I'm happy for him that he got paid, he deserves it.
  14. That's fair to say. That was still funny though, "had a massive erection". LOL! I gotta get off the viagra.
  15. I agree. We can't even get our share FAs here. Now we're losing them to the likes of the Bengals???!!! C'mon, how low can we go!! "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. " -Benjamin Franklin Time to shake it up baby!!!
  16. That's real funny Ramius, you know that it was me. I'm not promoting him as a great #2 WR just an adequate one. We drafted Hardy for this position and he is raw as hamburg. We don't need a great #2 WR just somebody who can get attention away from Evans, that's all.
  17. I think that you might be thinking of S Atari Bigby. He was tendered at a 2nd rder. Martin wasn't drafted but maybe this link will explain. http://www.madison.com/wsj/home/sports/440731 Wide receiver Ruvell Martin, defensive back Jarrett Bush, fullback John Kuhn and defensive end/outside linebacker Jason Hunter, who all received the low tender. All four of those players entered the league undrafted, and by using the low tender of $1.01 million, the Packers retain the right to match any offer they receive. However, the Packers would receive no compensation if one of those players signed with another team and the Packers did not match the offer.
  18. At least we'll get some national recognition. Maybe that's what this team needs, some accountability not to mention passion. I've been to some funerals that were more lively and exciting than this team. I say STIR THE POT BABY!
  19. Calm down, I'm only making a suggestion here, that's all. I like Stevie Johnson too but I do think that we're going to add another WR. I also think that whoever we add is only for the short term until our other WRs like Hardy and Johnson have matured more. There's nothing wrong in adding the proper veteran presence until these guys are more ready to take on a prominent role with the team.
  20. Obviously the Bills are looking to add another WR, *see Coles. I'm not just talking about a lucky bounce, I'm talking size in the red zone. Wasn't that one of the attractions for us when we drafted Hardy was his size? I also remember seeing Johnson dropping a couple of critical balls last year. I won't hold it against him but maybe he doesn't have enough of the coaching staff confidence yet. I don't know but I do know that we're looking to add another WR so why not Martin?
  21. Nothing like a circus, especially with popcorn!
  22. No it's not. All Green Bay can do is match the offer to retain him. Martin was tendered for the low amount which is $1,010,430 and no compensation.
  23. I wonder if TO was impressed with the atmosphere here on that MNF game in week 5 of the '07 season. Check out the video. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter?game_id=2927...7&week=REG5
