Reasons For Teams To Trade Up To Us
Tipster19 replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In scenarios #1, #2 and #5 you have us taking OG Andy Levitre with the 75th pick but in scenario #3 you have us taking DE Lawrence Sidbury Jr. and in scenario #4 you got us taking Sidbury Jr again at #75 and Levitre at the 84th pick. Why the difference in scenarios at the same slot and us being able to take Levitre a rd later in scenario #4? If we are able to take Levitre at #84, then why not do this right across the board? I noticed that too. It must be a typo. -
Their investment in Quinn is much larger than it is with Andersen, who they picked up off of waivers from Baltimore, which means the loss would be much larger for someone who hasn't even had a fair opportunity to show what he can do. The simple fact is that the book is much larger on Andersen than it is on Quinn and it's not too flattering. This is Quinn's job to lose, the Browns just can't display as a bust or his value would be nil to none. You. I'm getting tired of your vulgar sarcastic mouth. No matter what I say you go out of your way to be confrontational. I wonder how confrontational you would be in person.
-
Don't believe everything that you read. This is a ploy to drive Andersen's stock back up. Quinn played under Weiss and is more suited to play for Mangini. The previous Browns' GM Phil Savage made a mistake when he didn't trade Andersen last year, now Andersen is exposed and the Browns aren't going to get a fraction of what they could of last year.

Houston Texans RB detained while Mother-in Law dies

If it's any consolation LynchMob23, I'm white and I share the same philosophy as you. It doesn't do anybody any good arguing or getting mouthy with a cop. It just gives them even more power and legal right to bust somebody up. -
It's interesting to see how Pioli and Haley resolve this situation. I expect them to sooner or later to purge a portion of the players in a trade(s) that Herm Edwards was assembling in Kansas City. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernew...41728&rwr=1 http://www.kansascity.com/sports/chiefs/story/1106883.html Would anyone be willing to trade our 2010 1st rd draft pick for Dorsey? Just asking.

No, I'm glad that you brought this up. When I read this article earlier today it really bothered me. It reminded me of a recent subtle remark made by Jevon Kearse when I met him at a gas station last week. I met him because he was unable to change a $100.00 bill while I was waiting in line. I recognized him and offered to make the neccessary change for him. I then proceded to pay for my gas and buy a few scratch-off lottery tickets. When I went to pay for the services I didn't realize that I didn't have enough for both. I numbly (I was still starstruck for a moment) offered the $100.00 bill that I just changed for Jevon and Kearse said something to the effect that "They wouldn't do it for me but maybe they'll do it for you". When I reflected on the whole experience later, I remembered and pondered that remark probably longer than any one thing during that whole meeting. I then dismissed it as it being just an oversensitive African-American athlete. To be fair I have heard these types of remarks from other African-Americans that I have known thru the years, some have even been good friends. It's sad that this exists but it's even more disturbing that someone, anyone, could be so insensitive to another person in the time of crisis like what Ryan Moats and his family were going thru. It doesn't matter what the color was of any of the people involved, it's just bs that someone could be like that to another fellow human being but of course that it was a black and white incident only puts a more uglier, glaring light on the whole thing. It's too bad, that cop should should be ashamed of himself and also be ashamed of the reflection that he casts on his parents and his whole family. -
Oh, that's funny! It's too bad that it's probably true. I don't want to sound old fashion but I think that it's kind of embarassing to blog like that. Is this what we want publicly representing us. I think that stardom is unlimited when it's mysterious but this just openly displays that we got nothing but a hood rat. Howd ya like dat boyz?!

We dumped Dockery, spent a ton of money on our DEs
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm starting to wonder about that myself. I can't believe that they would boot this guy and not have a strategy in replacing him. Wouldn't that be ludacrious? I wholeheartedly agree. If we retain Peters and he's satisfied, could you imagine how good and young our OL would be, especially if we drafted someone like Oher or Robinson! I think our OL would be a strength for years to come. If we didn't get a LG at #11 then I would want a pass rushing DE with that pick but I wouldn't like to see us take a LB with this pick unless it was Curry and that's not going to happen. I think that we made more of an effort to build our DL than our OL and that's not saying much. We gave certain individuals a ton of money on both sides of the ball but the difference is we cut 50% of our big $$$ OL (Dockery) whereas we just kept Schobel and Kelsay and paid them. -

He played it his freshman year and some feel that with his demeanor that this would be his best position in the pros. Yes I am. Until the Peters' situation gets worked out Oher makes good insurance. If Peters doesn't sit out then Oher fills the LG immediately. I expect Langston Walker to be expendable after this season. Ideally the big money goes to Peters, Walker is sent packing and Oher is one nasty Pro Bowl guard for years to come. Having said that I believe that Demetrius Bell will fill Walker's position for the 2010 season. -
Welcome friend. I'm all for getting as many picks as possible in the first 3 rds but how? Do we mortgage our future by trading future draft picks? There isn't too many expendable players on our roster with any significant trade value. Are you suggesting a trade down? If so we could accumalate more first day picks but we would lose being slotted as high as we are now. This trade down could be feasible for extra picks but that would mean that we slide down further in the 1st rd and that would keep us from taking one of the premiere OL but we should be able to fulfill our DE desire with a decent player. I would rather see us take one of the top OL prospects at #11 and trade up into the late 1st rd (ala McCargo) for a DE. This might serve us better but I do like your reasoning. Oh, btw, put on a helmet and duck because here it comes!

As far as a 3rd/slot WR goes, Brandon Stokley fills that role.

I wonder if Buffalo was one of them. He just started learning to block his senior year. He is so far projected to go early 2nd rd and is rated the #2 TE in the draft. If Buffalo were interested in him then I think Scheffler would be a better fit just due to the fact that he already has experience and should be cheaper to obtain than a early 2nd rder. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ http://profootball.scout.com/2/849458.html

Ralph Wilson Not At Owner's Meetings
Tipster19 replied to BillsGuyInMalta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Keep him off IR and hurry up and trade him. If he can pass his physical we might be able to get a 3rd rder for him, the guy's a HOFer. -
I liked the way he plays football. I respect that he's fearless going over the middle and taking big time hits. I never heard him ever say anything controversial before but this was uncalled for. I do remember how he tried to mentor Aaron Rodgers last year and I respected him for taking on a leadership role.

It seems like the focus and criticism of the Bills' last few drafts have been about our early rds but I don't think that they are getting credit for what they have been quietly assembling later in the draft the last few years. Here's the 5th, 6th and 7th rders from the 2006-2008 drafts. 2006 5th rd/#134- DT Kyle Williams 5th rd/#143- OL Brad Butler 6th rd/#178- OLB Keith Ellison 7th rd/#216- OL Terrance Pennington 7th rd/#248- OG Aaron Mertz We didn't hit too good in the 7th rd with our picks but I applaud the effort and definitely think that we found great value with our 5th and 6th rders. 2007 6th rd/#184- DB John Wendling 7th rd/#222- HB Derek Schouman 7th rd/#239- DE C. J. Ah You I think Schouman is going to be a good player for us for quite sometime but time will tell. Unfortunately we missed on Ah You but I guess it's like the old cliche that you can't win 'em all. i'm not sure about Wendling so any input on this player would be appreciated. 2008 5th rd/#147- OLB Alvin Bowen 6th rd/#179- RB Xavier Omon 7th rd/#219- OL Demetrius Bell 7th rd-#224- WR Steve Johnson It was too bad that Bowen got hurt so early but maybe we get compensated this year with this pick. The same can be said about Omon, especially during Lynch's suspension. I think that we really nailed it in the 7th rd. This was a great late draft for us. *In memory- Buffalo's long time college scout Bob Ryan passed away suddenly in Hawaii on March 11. Ryan served on the Bills scouting staff for 30 years. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

Yeah buddy, that guy plays like an animal! I love his # too!

I met Jevon Kearse at a gas station today.
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny that you ask. I'm in the car business and I didn't really pay too much attention or make a big deal out of it because I was thrilled just to be rapping with him but he was driving a black, late model Mercedes-Benz SL 600 series/12 cylinder. I just didn't notice if it had the AMG package or not but I'm sure it was. The car looked sweet. The guy behind the counter had no idea who he was giving a difficult time to. Kearse probably could have bought the whole place. LOL! -
Oops, foolish me, I just noticed that this type of thread already exists. I just realized that it is pinned at the top of page one. Thanks for your time, effort, and interest Tim, we're fortunate to have a guy like you on this board.
-
Matter of fact Tim maybe you could start your own thread titled something like " Ask Tim Graham..." and this way we could ask you various questions on many aspects on the game and team that we all love so much. I'm sure that you could shed alot of incredible light with true knowledge and integrity. Thanks again from a Bills' junkie.
-
Hi Tim, how are you doing? This isn't really on topic but while you're on the internet I would like to ask a favor of you. Do you think that you could give us more insight on how some of the NFL brass think? I'm referring to the way that they evaluate players and their worth and how they come to determine trade values? Of course I wouldn't want to impose on you and jepordize you with your colleagues and the confidential trust that you journalists have amongt each other, just general understanding. Thank you and keep up your good work.

If the Bills were to trade Parrish for salary cap reasons and/or for talent for other areas of need, then I would think that to get proper value for him would be to package him with a draft pick for a veteran player or to move up in the draft. Example; Package Parrish and our 5th rder to move up to the mid-late 2nd rd or Parrish and a draft pick (?) for a proven veteran.

It was pretty cool. I ran into a 7-11 today about 5:00 and while I was waiting in line I notice this guy sliding his credit card for payment and he was having trouble with it. As I was realizing that it was Kearse, I can tell that he's getting frustrated with the whole process of it. As it turned out he only had $100 dollar bills and they couldn't change it so he was forced to try and use his credit card after he already pumped his gas. I asked him if he was Jevon and he said yeah he was. We started talking and I was able to change his $100 bill. I paid for my stuff and we both walked out about the same time. Our cars were parked on opposite sides of the same pump and I talked to him for about 5 minutes. He's a nice guy and he's sure got some big arms! Before he left I asked him if he's got anything he could sign. He said that he thinks he does and pulled out a sharpie and popped his trunk. He had about a half box of the nicest Tennesse Titan hats and signed the brim of it to my kid. It was pretty cool. Needless to say that I was caught off guard but I live in Fort Myers, Fl and that's his hometown. There's several other current/former NFL players from here or from very near by. I guess the biggest name would be Deion Sanders. Here are some others that come from here or very nearby. Edgerrin James Greg Spires Earnest Graham Eric Green Phillip Buchanon Anthony Henry Anthony Hargrove I'm sure that I'm leaving a few others out but the above are actually born and bred here. There is also a lot of baseball players who actually live here but haven't been born or raised here.
