  1. I've had my share of rants and complaints of past administrators but I never swayed in my loyalty to the franchise or it's teams. I can't believe that everyone on this board has been completely satisfied and content with every decision and personnel move from every administrator that has graced our organization. If there is ANY kind of doubt or confusion to my loyalty to this franchise then I think that there are some long standing members on this board that can attest if I'm a fair weather fan. Then let the good people of Billsville speak!
  2. You did your father proud BillsfaninSixburgh because no matter how long you live, where you are in this world you a Bills' fan because of your father and that is what I'm talking about. This legacy is now passed down to your kids because of you. I'm proud just to be even talking to you.
  3. Dead wrong. Apology accepted.
  4. I'm sitting waiting for another season to begin and I realize how full circle life has become. When I first became a Bills' fan I was just a mere lad, a young teenager without a clue and so were the Bills. Then the mid '80s came and I was newly married with a couple of beautiful young children and life was full of promise and so were the Bills. There was nothing I couldn't do or at least that was what I thought but so did the Bills. I had no business being married, I was too young and immature and the Bills had no business threatening to be contenders, they were the team from a small market tundra. No glamour, no big city lights and nothing exotic about this winter wasteland but they were full of promise and so was I. Then the early '90s came and the Bills went boom and I went bust but I had the Bills in my heart and they gave me some strange strength that allowed me to persavere. Then after 4 straight denials in the Big Show, my beloved Bills started to dim but I personally started to shine. It was my turn, in my heart, to lend them a hand. I moved to the enemy territory, SW Florida, and while they started to flounder, I started to flourish and I was proud to still be a Bills' fan. Once the Bills started to descend they never spiraled back up. It's been over a decade now and there still is no end in sight in the near future but I still find myself a big of a fan as I ever was but just more tempered. No big expectations, no grand thoughts of winning a Super Bowl anytime soon, if ever in my lifetime, but also no long term regrets of making choosing Buffalo as my lifetime favorite team. In some sick way I think that I like the pain, it reflects life in some odd way. I failed to mention that my life has taken a turn itself since the "Great Depression". My little kids are now grown and gone, my wife's health took a dump and that prosperity that I was once enjoying, it's gone but I'll tell you what isn't and that is my love affair with this perrennial loser that's called the Buffalo Bills. They're my team. I realize that it's like any kind of contract, marriage or committment that you make. You honor it. I faithfully read this board, even when I don't post. Lots of times it's with frustration, other times with great joy. I'm powerless, I can't help or improve my team one iota but I like to think that when I vent, comment or express an idea on this board that it somehow makes a difference. It doesn't. I guess that I would like to have nobody who has or is a Bills' fan give up or lose hope with this team. I can tell you firsthand that the ups and downs with this team has been a thrill and it has been worth the crazy ride and I just wanted to share this thought, feeling, and sentiment with the younger fans here. Don't give up and maybe in thirty years or so you'll be posting something similiar to this.
  5. The more I think about it the more I believe that Trent Edwards would have some kind of value to Philly. Trade him and a first first day pick to them for McNabb.
  6. I think that a 3rd rder this year and a conditional 3 rder that can become a 2nd rder in next year's draft could get it done. Another scenario might be a first day pick in this year's draft and a player (secondary?) for McNabb. We definitely need our first 2 picks this year to bolster our awful O/D Lines.
  7. That was a pretty ****ty retort. I was wondering if this was a worthy trade because we don't have **** for a QB. It seems like people can't post around here without covering up. It's getting to the point where I hope we go with the QBs that we got so it can shove it up the asses of some of the !@#$s around here.
  8. I just read something from back in February that Buddy Nix stated that they want some veteran leadership but with a strong arm. That being said, that aspect just might disqualify Bulger. It's depressing to think what we have for QBs and what is available to us.
  9. It's not a backpedal. If we want him then I would want to assure our chances. It's like hedging a bet. It also would complicate our draft. I think that I kind of alluded to that.
  10. I agree about getting a young talent in here and who knows, that guy could be Brohm. I wouldn't shed a tear if they disposed Edwards, Fitz played behind Bulger before and there could be a better chemistry with those two than Fitz and Edwards.
  11. Who would you suggest we should get, if anyone at all? I personally don't believe that we have a starter on our current roster. If Buffalo would step I'd be all for McNabb but it's going to be costly and I'm not convinced that it would be worth it.
  12. Only trade for him if he's willing to rework his current contract. Having the opportunity to be the starter should give him the incentive to come off his contract.
  13. He was born in Pittsburgh and played college ball at West Virginia. I do remember that when things were going good for him he would be able to hit his receivers in stride. When was the last time that happened in Buffalo? I don't believe that he's washed up but I do think that he needs a good OL to protect him. Gailey is all about running the rock but it would be nice to have a QB that can hit his receivers every once in awhile with the ball. If another QB is going to be added, then someone like Bulger would be cheap to get in compensation. This would allow us to use our early picks on both the offensive and defensive lines. Just a thought.
  14. That would put him on the open market and could delute our chances of getting him. Another factor is that it doesn't cost the Rams anything of keeping him on the roster, there's no bonuses due to him.
  15. It would be cheap compensation for veteran leadership. Buffalo would actually be lucrative for him because there isn't a clear starter on the roster. The key would be for him to redo his contract but he thinks that he would be the starter then he should be more agreeable to a friendlier contract.
  16. Let's see how much influence Jimbo has with the new brass. http://metrowny.com/blogs/archives/374-Kel...-75b0xw00d.html
  17. PS- I can't believe that I'm saying this but I was also wondering about QB Chad Pennington as a Bill. He just might be a great insurance policy for them while they develope another young QB.
  18. I was wondering if Kawika could have any influence on Pierce. I sure hope so because he could play multiple LB positions. I think it would be a great addition for us. I also considered if Bryant would be a positive addition but after thinking about it more I don't think he would be. Donte Stallworth might be a better fit for the Bills but that's just speculation on my part.
  19. I'm expecting Jim Bates to named DC anytime now. Him and Sanders have worked closely together before and , Bates was a mentor to him and if I remember correctly, Bates recommended him as his replacement in Green Bay or at least the Packers' FO thought he could be his replacement.
  20. I'm not offended but with that being said the Colts are absolutely going to DESTROY the Saints, it will be over by halftime.
  21. If this were to happen it wouldn't surprise me. I say do it. http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/index.php?...=101123&hl=
  22. Physically/athletically I think that the guy has some special gifts, especially that Gailey is suppose to excel in developing young QBs but attitude wise Russell is another story. Him being rumored as an underacheiver with a indifferent work ethic sure takes away a lot of his redeeming athletic qualities. Big time QBs are hard to find and I'm wondering if the positives outweigh the negatives and if he can be motivated enough to progress in his young career.
  23. Keep in mind that Bates wasn't too happy that he didn't get the HC position in Miami. I'm pretty confident that he would like to prove them wrong. I'd love to have Bates as our DC.
  24. Do people realize that JaMarcus Russell and Marshawn Lynch are cousins? Could you imagine both of them on the same team? That would be the icing on the cake for this franchise.
  25. Oops, I screwed that up! Bates was the DC at Miami in 2000-2001 when Gailey was there as a OC. Man, I hope that I didn't screw that up again, I'm at work and going by memory.
