Peter King givin the Bills a little lovin'
Tipster19 replied to Sabre Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Go Bills! -
I was just going to post that about a bidding war between these two teams. I think that Green Bay needs Lynch more and what better way to stymy an opponent than than to take a player that would help them succeed? Jackson doesn't have the value that Lynch has. I think that we should shed ourselves of Lynch not just because of the return compensation but also because if he were to have another league violation than we will land up with a big handful of nothing and this franchise can't take a hit like that.
-
There's not anything that I can say for them. No excuses, no alibis, no justification. They are a flat out mess. There's nothing to feel positive or hopeful about. I can bash them right now like so many others. I could throw a fit and angrily disown them but that will never last. I did come to this conclusion after this debacticle though and that is I really don't care who owns this franchise, who coachs them or who the players are anymore. I've come to realize that this, this, this team?/franchise?/organization? or whatever you want to call the Buffalo Bills, is me. I can't get away from them just like I can't get away from myself. I'm not mad at them, I'm not even embarrassed by them anymore. I don't know why, I'm just not. I can't and won't make any excuses for them this week, or in the future, around the watercooler. I'll just listen and let them say whatever they want, I won't even get upset. Matter of fact, when the trashing is done I'll just shrug my shouilders and even agree with the hecklers. It doesn't matter. The Bills embodies who I am, who a lot of us are, if we like it or not. I've always supported them thru thick or thin, the good times and the bad times and this is the worse that I can ever remember them being. It just doesn't matter, I'm still here and so will many of you too. So I encourage the faithful to pull your chin up and just persevere because that is EXACTLY what this franchise gave/taught us if nothing else. It's what we do best.

If Jackson is out for any great length I wonder if the Rams will consider trading for Lynch.

I sit and I wonder what happened to you.......
Tipster19 posted a topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A long time ago I made you mine, thru the rain, snow and sunshine. I sit and wonder, what has happened to you? It's too late to leave so now what do I do? Like many of the faithful, I wear my heart on my sleeve, thru the good times and the bad times I still do believe, A franchise that once upon a time used to walk tall, now has forgotten it's pride and learned how to crawl. I won't leave because that's not how I'm built, but it's hard to just sit and watch you wilt. I see the Red, White and Blue and I think of American pride, but when I see what has happened to you I want to run and hide. I'm not asking for much but for some dirt, grit and backbone, It's not just for you or for me because I don't stand alone. It's not for Super Bowls, championships or any of that kind of glory, I'm just tired of this whole last decade of hearing the same old story. I'm pleading to you by taking my own time to write about you in a feeble weak ass poem, what will help make a difference for you, a relocation, or even playing under a dome? My kids are grown and gone but they still give me the phone calls whenever you play, when they try to get excited for me and ask me what I think, I have nothing to say. I'm beyond being ashamed because I've decided and came to terms that you're my cross that I'll bare, I'll still be watching you as you stumble and lose but don't worry, I'm not leaving, I'm still here. I'm going to go for now because I'm done writing this nonsense and embarrassing myself over you, but just know that when Sunday rolls around that I'll still be screaming for the Red, White and Blue! Go Bills, I love you! -
Marshawn Lynch 'is not available'
Tipster19 replied to earthtobrint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Of course Nix is posturing. Remember that he was groomed under the personable (sarcasm) AJ Smith and say what you want but AJ doesn't blink when it comes down to getting the return value on his personnel. Green Bay will make this trade because they are in dire need of someone like Lynch's abilities. The biggest obstacle that I can see is that Green Bay's GM Ted Thompson doesn't like to part with draft picks and Buffalo wants good compensation for Lynch so a trade straight up for Hawk doesn't look like it would cut it for Buffalo but changing the dynamics might make the difference for both parties. It would make more sense if Buffalo tossed in a draft pick (5th or 6th rder?) with Lynch and trade for Hawk and C/G Jason Spitz, especially now that Hangartner is coming up gimpy. It would be a win-win situation for both teams. -
Let the Levi Brown experiment begin now!
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Granted, Brown didn't play all that much tonight but the little he did play he showed a good presence out there and at least TRIED to stick the ball in there on his INT. He was actually very close to threading the needle on that pass and it felt good to finally see one of our QBs try and get the ball up the field. Did anyone else notice when Edwards threw that INT he kind of just stood there when the guy ran out of bounds just before him? Talk about no effort or fire! As far as Fitzpatrick goes, the guy is a perennial back-up. I do admire his efforts and at least the guy has some guts but I just don't see the talent that a franchise type QB posesses. Admittedly I know very little, if anything at all, about Brohm but if we got to go with an "experiment" QB, I like the little I've seen from Brown and his college stats sure are impressive. Sad to say, I don't think that we are risking or losing too much this season on turning the page on Edwards and seeing what an unknown can bring to the table. Enough is enough, let's get some auditions going here, Edwards is a wimp and we shouldn't waste anymore time with him. -
I have zero expectations for this season. I'd rather see Levi get reps to determine if he could be our QB of the future rather than to waste anymore time with this Edwards. I can't remember ever seeing a bigger sissy than this guy and I can't wait until we rid ourselves of this jerk.

Tom Cousineau's side of the story.
Tipster19 replied to tennesseeboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Based on that article I thought Cousineau sounded extremely intelligent. I totally agree with his perception on God and his timing, one never knows how things will unfold. We can always logicly reason situations out but it doesn't always go the way we expect it to. The guy sounds like he has a healthy, happy marriage and two beautiful kids that he appears to adore. He sounds like he made the right choice and became a success to me. -
LT David Diehl doesn't want to relinquish his position and the Giants are considering moving him to RT or even to the G position. He signed a 6 year/$31 million contract in 2008 and that would be hefty salary for a G. If I'm not mistaken the Giants are hurting at the S position and trading Whitner might not be a far fetched scenario if the Bills are not confident in their current players at the T position. This is pure speculation but I believe a reasonable possibility. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...=NFL&id=940 http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2010/06...naire_se_6.html

No need for apologies but instead thanks for your memories. This thread is making me go thru the snapshots of my life. I remember being a skinny kid working in a pizzaria, proudly wearing my Bills' cap during the late 70's/early 80's. The ribbing and torture was unrelenting but it didn't wane my excitement and passion one iota for this franchise. I'd have to say that my best Bills' memories come from remembering my two little boys on Christmas Day, all excited tearing open presents and squealing with glee when they opened their Buffalo Bills' pajamas! I still look at the pictures of them, their beaming faces, waving at the camera wearing those pajamas. But my greastest joy is knowing that no matter where they are in this world, when they think, see or hear anything about the Bills they think of me. Now THAT gives me great honor, there's nothing that the Bills could do to top that. There's no Super Bowl, no Greatest Comeback, no division championship that can compare to that and for that reason alone makes me indebted and grateful to the Buffalo Bills. Thank you Buffalo Bills, thank you Mr. Wilson, I owe you big time. You made me cry.

I too friend share your sentiment. I'm 50 and have been a diehard Bills' fan for almost as long as I can remember. It's been quite an emotional rollercoaster thru the decades but in retrospect I don't regret giving my heart to this franchise, it's been a true love affair and I'm proud to claim them as "my team". I know this, when I pass I'll be remembered for many things from my loved ones, some of it won't be so flattering and rightfully so but during the mourning, at one point or another they will be reminiscing and at this time is when I'll be associated with being a Bills' fan. Thru their tears they'll be talking about their fondest memories of the Bills and me. I know now that the more that they share their stories the more that their mood will be lighten. Soon the tears will subside and the laughter will start creeping into their crackling voices. I know my kids will start by remembering that it was better to just let me watch the games by myself, it wasn't safe to watch with me because my intensity would only increase as the game was unfolding and I would be getting into another zone by myself, a zone that they knew they could never fully understand or enter with me. They would be able to still love and forgive me inspite of this lunacy because they saw their whole lives my commitment, passion and loyalty to this organization. They knew that I would need some time after the game to decompress and they would allow this because of their understanding that the Bills were actually a part of my DNA. More stories and memories will start flowing easier and easier. The atmoshere will be light, the room filled with laughter, their spirits will be merry and their smiles will begin to start shining brightly. They will remember how I took my parents bedsheets right off their bed to make a sign on that MNF game when we finally beat the Dolphins. Then they will probably follow that one up with the time that I laughed my ass off watching my drunk brother-in-law, decked in a white sweatsuit, fall and slide down in the mud on the side of the exit ramp stairs after a game. Man, that memory still makes me laugh! I also know how they'll wrap it up. They'll finish by remembering how I punched a hole in my wall after watching Thurman get us back into the game late in the 4th quarter during Super Bowl XXV, and while nobody might say it, I know that my kids will also individually finish their thoughts of me with the memory of seeing their old man's eyes, tears silently rolling down my face, as I'm watching that ball sail wide right.

propose a nickname for Wang,Wood, Levitre et al
Tipster19 replied to birdog1960's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure what to call them but when it's 4th and goal I hope they open up a couple of glory holes. -
I don't have a clue why anyone would be offended by what Lynch said in that article. I actually think that he hit a new maturity level. I didn't take it as him making excuses or alibis, it sounded like he took responsibility to me. I don't feel sorry for him but I bet he does get persecuted in ways that most of us would never have to endure, from being a high profiled African-American athlete in a small market who has made too many mistakes. The best thing that Lynch could do is to come out publicly and take responsibility for his past mistakes and then bury himself in all kinds of community charities. The guy would be forgiven and be hailed as a hero in a city like Buffalo.

Five Reasons The Bills Should Sign................
Tipster19 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2010/...urns_to_ho.html Read it. I'm for the Bills to seriously explore Russell as an option. -
Kudos to Brown for having belief in himself and going for it. I hope and even think that he has a real shot of being the QB that we all have hoped for. I believe that you can't teach moxy and this kid seems to have some!
-
Yep. I would hardly call Roy Williams a bust though. Nope, neither.
-
...I'd like to see what the cost would be Dallas' WR Roy Williams. He'd be a great addition that might be available for a very reasonable price. I wouldn't be surprised if a 2011 3rd rd pick or even as low as a 4th rder that gets it done. This turned out to be a distrastrous trade for the Cowboys and this could be a way for them to recoup some of their investment. I don't believe that Hardy will ever be the #2 WR that we need or have been looking for. Hardy might be best utilized as a pass catching TE for us but other than that I think that this was another costly mistake made by our previous administration. ...the Titan's RB Chris Johnson lead the league last year in broken tackles with 61. What would the projection be for rookie Spiller this year? I'll put the over/under at 35. I'll take the over. ...Buffalo would be the most logical place for Jamarcus Russell and I'd be all for it if the price is right. He's a big, strong armed mobile QB who is also the cousin to Marshawn Lynch. We could very realistically salvage two players at the same time but that's a secondary aspect to acquiring Russell. Primarily we have a coach who excels with the play skills of someone like Russell. Chan Gailey did wonders with this type of player when he coached a QB with far less skills than Russell. Kordell Stewart is a poor man's version of Russell and if we could sign Jamarcus to an incentative laden contract I'd be all for it. I have zero faith in Edwards and I applaud Fitzpatrick's efforts and passion but he's not our franchise QB of the future. I know absolutely nothing about Brohm and unless someone can validate his abilities then I'm all about being receptive to someone like Russell. He has the physical tools of a franchise QB that we desparately need. I think that him being related to Lynch would be a huge benefit for us and would be the motivation that both of them need to be productive players in this league. ...the Bills should do or pay whatever it takes to get OT Flozell Adams in here. Outside the QB position this is our greatest weakness. I know that this is common knowledge but I really think that outside of these two positions we actually have good players and a pretty decent team. I really have some expectations for this team this year if we could somehow improve these two areas.
-
While I'm sure that I'll get flamed for making such a suggestion I still can't help but like what Russell can bring to the table in Buffalo. He's a big, strong armed mobile QB who's cousin plays in our backfield (Lynch). We could very realistically salvage two players at the same time but that's a secondary aspect to acquiring Russell. We have a coach who excels with the play skills of someone like Russell. Gaily did wonders with this type of player when he coached a QB with far less skills than Russell. Kordell Stewart is a poor man's version of Russell and we could sign Jamarcus to an incentative laden contract I'd be all for it. Here's an article that has some interesting points. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/abraha...;entry_id=63047

I would find it hard to believe that the Bills had all their chips on Tebow and not have a back-up plan in place, especially in a draft that's not heavy in quality QBs. I really believe now that our QB of the future is in next year's draft. I'm hoping that Buffalo takes a DL like DT Terrence Cody with our 2nd rd pick.

While I'm sitting in the hospital room.....
Tipster19 replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL! That was a good one, I guess I asked for it! -
....I figured I'd pass the time by making one of my infamous outlandish draft predictions. *This is for entertainment purposes only. In the 1st rd the Bills draft Spiller. He would make Lynch dispensible and he's the BPA at #9. Rd 2 the Bills draft Tebow and net a late 2nd rder for Lynch (Seattle?). They use this pick for Alabama's DT Terrence "Mount" Cody. The Bills finally plug that soft middle that has been haunting them for the last several years. In the 3rd rd the Bills select Massachusetts' OT Vladimir Ducasse. Buffalo ships off their 4th rd pick to the Redskins for QB Jason Campbell. The Bills also sends Washington their 2011 6th rd pick to complete the compensation. In retrospect the Bills rid themselves of a player (Lynch) who is becoming increasingly a concern for the future of the Bills. Campbell is given the opportunity to start for years to come but if he falters then the Bills have Tebow waiting in the wings. All needs are addressed and are filled with BPA. All input, opinions and alterations welcomed.

UPDATED: Tim Tebow, QB, Denver Broncos
Tipster19 replied to Kingfish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wonder if this will make a difference in the thinking of the Bills' administration come draft day. Thoughts? -
I've been a fan of the Bills since 1972 and the the scary part is that they never won a Super Bowl. If I could only witness this event then I think that I would have some kind of closure to my life. It's actually kind of pathetic.
