  1. Hey geek, gimme your lunch money!
  2. I'm not too sure if I like any of the early picks in all 3 scenarios but I do like the Mark Ingram pick in the 2nd rd. I really feel that a RB is something of a need for this team's future success. I know that it's not a popular choice at this time but Spiller is only a Reggie Bush type player, not a 3 down back and Fred is getting up there in age. The Bills do need a replacement for Lynch, hopefully that will come in this year's draft or free agency.
  3. Was it really neccessary to post this?
  4. Quinn for the win!
  5. They removed most of it, not all of it due to being to close to his brain. He has a CAT scan every 6 months without incident. He also claims that he doesn't have anymore headaches.
  6. Who would that be, Newton or Gabbert? I think that Gabbert, if he's still available, just might be the pick. I've been rooting for a defensive player with our first pick but after thinking about it this draft is deep defensively but shallow in QBs, at least starting QBs.
  7. I'm getting all caught up in this draft and I'm overlooking the possibility of Fitzpatrick getting injured. What would the Bills do in this scenario? Who in the world would take the snaps? Would this be addressed in the draft or in free agency, because as far as I know they currently don't have nobody except for Levi Brown.
  8. I owe an apology, I meant to say a ILB is too early to take at the #3 spot. I'm doing this all from an IPhone these last several days and it's a real pain in the ass. The cable guy is here right now and hopefully I'll have my old dinosaur of a PC up and running today so I can actually see a real screen. This squinting is for the birds, especially at my age! Lol!
  9. I'm a HUGE advocate for the Bills to select him with their first pick at the #3 slot. I like Peterson but I feel that we have more than adequate help in our secondary and we desperately need a playmaker on our DL. Although LB is another big need it's too early to take one at the #3 spot.
  10. I'm watching the NFL channel and there's a 30 minute episode from NFL Films. The second half of the show was focused on Bruce DeHaven and his family. They landed up adopting two children from Columbia. During the adoption of their first child, Tobin Scott, they met and landed up becoming life long friends with the Cipriani family, who coincidently were in Columbia at the same time adopting a child of their own. Tobin Scott was named after our own Scott Norwood. Bruce thought that Norwood handled the whole "wide right" incident with such grace and class that his son's middle name is named after him. Bruce believes that a name should have great meaning and naming his child after someone who went and suffered a tremendous scutiny really says something about both men. I agree, Norwood did handle that whole episode with such grace. I realize, after watching that, how selfish of a person I really am. Norwood didn't run and hide, he stayed and answered every question that was asked of him. The show ended with both families (DeHavens and Ciprianis) toasting. Bruce ended the show by saying how much he would love to be a part of winning a Super Bowl in Buffalo because no one deserves it as much as the people of Buffalo or something to that effect. I'm glad that I watched that show. It made me once again realize how much I love the Bills and that I'm proud of them because of people like Bruce DeHaven AND Scott Norwood. Both men are class acts. Go Bills!
  11. Do you know who Gil Brandt is? If so you wouldn't even make this reference. The guy is simply the best at talent evaluations and is HIGHLY respected in football circles.
  12. I can only post on what I hope the Bills do with their first pick at the #3 slot. Here is my pecking order for the top 3 because we'll be guaranteed to get one of them. A.) DE Quinn B.) DT Dareus C.) CB Peterson I'm really getting concerned that Nix/Gailey are going to go after Newton in a big way, I don't want some hotdog QB with our first pick. I'm happy with Fitzpatrick until we get the rest of the team up to speed in other areas. With that being said I'd like to see us take a flyer on a developemental QB in the 2nd rd if that's what they think is neccessary for upgrading the QB position.
  13. Not if the Bills trade up for him. I'm starting to get a real uneasy feeling about Newton. Of our "braintrust" falls in love with him, who knows what they'll do. I'm sorry, I don't want Newton. I'm going on record right now and I'm declaring that I want us to take a defensive player with our first pick, preferably Quinn.
  14. Thanks for the link, man. People think that this is a smokescreen but after reading that article I think that people are going to be in for a big surprise. Gil Brandt has gone on record back in February proclaiming that Newton should be the #1 pick and now we have our staff huddling up with him. There's no doubt in my mind that Brandt is still singing the praises about Newton, especially that the article ends with Brandt stating that he expects the Panthers to take Newton #1. I'm going to allow myself to start thinking about a possible trade up for the Bills.
  15. Sorry, I can't paste a link because I'm doing this from an IPhone but I just read it. If anyone can provide any more information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  16. he's just not ANY CB. The guy is huge for a CB with blazing speed. He allow us to go into nickel packages earlier in games and give us much needed run support. If we did select Peterson with our first pick then I would want to scrap the whole "developemental QB in the 2nd rd" theory and go DL in the 2nd. Once again just my opinion.
  17. Jimmy Johnson. Barring any kind of a trade down if Peterson falls to us at #3 then I think that we have to give it a very strong consideration. Altough I've been a big advocate for us to take Robert Quinn (hopefully he gives us some Bruce Smith type results) at #3, having the opportunity to take maybe the premiere player of the draft is not a hateful position to be in. He's not a bad choice, just not a sexy one. A team, especially ours, can never go wrong by taking a blue chip playmaker. I would never think that taking the best player available at your slot would be a wrong thing. Just my opinion.
  18. I like that Stevie offered the WR position as the first alternate, it not only showed his loyalty to Fitz but it also displayed his confidence in himself and showed that he is willing to put the team's welfare first.
  19. I love this time of the year. My laptop took a dump so I'm doing this from my IPhone but I wanted some input from others on these draft selections for the Bills. Thanks. 1st rd #3-North Carolina DE/OLB Robert Quinn 2nd rd #34- Nevada QB Colin Kaepernick 3rd rd #68- Clemson S DeAndre McDaniel 4th rd #99- N.C. State ILB Nate Irving 4th rd #121- Stanford DT Sione Fua 5th rd #130- Citadel CB Cortez Allen Thoughts?
  20. He looks pretty thick and isn't afraid to mix it up. I like it! I think that I'm going to check him and see what's up. Thanks for the tip. Btw, wearing a jersey # in memory of a friend indicates to me that he believes in unity. That in itself displays the kind of character that I like.
  21. In the first 2 Rds. I would like to see us take a DL (1st) and a Qb (2nd). In the 3rd we could take a multitude of positions. I suggested a power RB who could compliment Spiller and be a future replacement for Jackson in a earlier post that was not recieved well. I believe that we could find good talent at the LB position in the middle Rds. but I wouldn't be against it in the 3rd if it were a beast.
  22. Assuming that there isn't any trade downs for us in the draft then I would like to see the Bills add Helu as a compliment to Spiller. Fred Jackson isn't getting any younger and I like the way Gailey challenged Spiller last year. I think that we'll see alot more out of Spiller this upcoming year and Helu would add a much needed punch for us in years to come now that Lynch has been traded. In the 1st Rd I expect the Bills to go defense, and where I think that Dareus would be the pick if he were to fall to us, Robert Quinn wouldn't be a hateful alternative if Dareus is gone by the #3 pick. I will say that although I was heisitating if Peterson were to be there for us to take with our first selection, it's not as disappointing as one would think to take a blue chip CB with the #3 pick. The guy has tremendous size and he would allow us to play a nickel defense early in a game and would give us great run support. In the 2nd Rd I expect the Bills to look towards the future in a QB that can be tutored by Fitzpatrick. Nevada's QB Colin Kaepernick can be that guy. Although I wanted the Bills to go heavy on defensive players early in the draft I could be in favor of just taking productive offensive players and I believe that Helu and Kaepernick can and will be those players for years to come. Hopefully free agency can be a positive alternative for us this year and we can fill some of our holes in this area.
  23. Ouch, this one is the winner! Sounds like you got busted pal and to think that I was worried about our 1st rd pick.
  24. Here are several items that will not provide positive long term results. ...go hang gliding in a hurricane. ..."play dead" with a vulture. ...sign Terrell Owens to a long term contract. ...be a HC for Jerry Jones. ...select a WR with the #3 pick in the NFL Draft when your DL blows.
  25. I've been a fan for over 37 years now. Do you think that this might be the year that this franchise returns to some level of prominence? I'm starting to get concern that I might not ever get to see the Bills win a Super Bowl. For the most part I have been a slavish acquiescence of this organization but now I'm starting to get impatient because of the time factor.
