  1. Ours is going to be no slouch! We just got REAL nasty ourselves up the middle. Compared to the way Al Davis looks, old Ralphie boy should have another 20 or 30 years to go! http://d.yimg.com/i/ng/sp/ap_photo/20110119/all/l4961590.jpg
  2. What a GREAT article, thanks for posting it! I can't remember getting this excited about a prospect, other than Dareus of course. There's nothing like a late rd sleeper, they make you want to really pull for them. To think that I thought when DT Shaun Rogers dunking a basketball was impressive, that's nothing compared to what Jumping Jack Jasper can do! I LOVE this pick! Of all of our mid to late rd picks, Jasper is the one that I'm going to pull for the most. The only thing that's raw about this guy is the cows that he eats! Go Jasper! Btw, this is one of the best and funniest posts that I have read in a LONG time! It's great to see EVERYONE so enthusiastic for a common cause/player. I love the unity and excitement that everyone is enjoying and for that fact alone Jasper is already paying dividends. Go Bills! I totally concur!
  3. 33" vert??!!! Are you kidding me, a guy that size!!! Wow! Another thing, Long Horns don't have calves as big as this guy's! This guy is a beast!
  4. I think that it would be a very good value for the Bills.
  5. Here's the other media file that I was trying to post.
  6. I'd give all my critics my two cents from my "ten cent head". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8K7CNzFhnCE I guess that I have to do this post in two parts because of too many media files. Forget about his foot speed, that arm of his is special. I hope that the Bills take this kid tonight and let him sit behind Fitzpatrick until he's ready to start torching some defenses. I can't wait to see what we do with the #34th pick tonight!
  7. Yeah baby! Call Dareus "Sunshine" cuz he's gonna bring some warmth to Western New York! Now if we can only get ILB Nate Irving our interior defense will be outstanding! Go Bills!
  8. There has been a strategic shift in the NFL. In 2009 it is believed that for the first time in history, more passes were thrown from the shotgun (55.7%) than from under center. Last year the Eagles used the shotgun formation on 54% of their offensive plays. Eagles' OC Marty Mornhinweg states that the game has been trending this way for a long time. Drew Brees, who set a league record in 2009 with a 70.6% completion rate, fell to the 2nd rd in the 2001 draft because he was viewed as a shotgun QB. Last year Sam Bradford was drafted #1 overall but he only ended up throwing just ONE pass from under center! Teams aren't passing more frequently, they are just throwing differently. From 2006 to 2009, the use of passes thrown from the shotgun formation has jumped a whopping 24%! The typical shotgun setup reduces a pass drop by 2 steps. A 7 step drop becomes a 5 step drop. The formation is less about time and more about field vision, space and a QB's comfort. Allowing a QB to stand upright in the backfield for several presnap seconds gives a QB a better view to make increasingly harder reads. No matter how sophisticated defenses get they can't overcome the fact that a ball travels faster than man. By getting the ball snapped versus carrying it to the back of the pocket, a QB will have more time to get the ball out of his hands before an unblocked pass-rusher can get to him. In the end it's not just having a mobile QB that will make a team better, or in some cases worse, it's the fact that throwing from the shotgun simplifies the game for the QB. Add in offensive line injuries and/or lack of ability and one can understand the change of philosophy for OCs. Present day you have to be really good in the passing game to win, with the way defenses attack more and the amount of points that are needed to win, it's going to lead to more and more shotgun formations.
  9. The point is that the NFL IS a QB driven league and Buffalo, if they don't use it for themselves, is holding a HUGE chip in this draft.
  10. I have been a die hard fantasy football player for over 20 years. When I first started we had to keep track of stats with pen and paper but the last several years I've been involved in a VERY competitive hybrid league. We play for a nice payday and you can bet that it's cutthroat and a mistake can trash your season. I'll try to make this short because I want to make a point. A couple of years ago I was heading out of my house to go to my draft. I had my draft scripted for weeks. I've been a huge Adrian Peterson fan and I was picking 5th and Peterson was going to be mine, all mine and there was no way I was going to deviate from my master plan. Right about this time an old friend called me and was curious in what my plan were going to be. I splewed my guts out and he listened quietly. When I was thru he calmly asked me what position scored the most dividends. I promptly blurted out that the QB position was the money, simply due to the fact that this is a QB driven league and we are able to play 2 QBs at one time(one in the OP position). At this point my friend stated that I'd be making a huge mistake if I didn't heed that. I thought about it for a few mintes, I didn't want to change my want or desire to select Peterson. I was being foolishly stubborn but my friend made a ton of sense the more I thought about this aspect. Needless to say I changed my mind and last minute picked Romo. I did make it to the Super Bowl and lost but I never regretted my change of heart. It was the right decision in a QB driven league. Keep this in mind come draft day on Thursday. If Buffalo doesn't go QB with their first pick, don't think that the several teams behind them that need a QB won't. I'm expecting the unexpected in this draft, especially with Buffalo. I can see them trading back if they don't take a QB with the #3 pick.
  11. I still think Kaepernick is the pick for the Bills in the late 1st or with our 2nd rd pick but I guess we'll find out Thursday/Friday for sure. Go Bills!
  12. That's too bad, I wish Sean well. I remember when he played for the Bills, I had high hopes for him, I really thought that he was going to make it and stick around. Oh well. I wouldn't be surprised if all the charges were dropped.
  13. THAT I understand completely. It's time to change our attitude!
  14. Hey, you're the one who started with the "if" game. Btw, I don't think that your Aunt would appreciate your analogy.
  15. If you take away all the losing years and just kept the SB years and the Championship years in the 60's this would be one of the great franchises. It's all on how you want to slice it.
  16. I'm paraphrasing the late Vince Lombardi but I find great meaning in reference to our once proud franchise. Attitude is everything and while you are not in control of what happens to you, you are in control in how you respond. Your attitude is the only thing you get to control 100% of the time. What a person thinks about leads to actions and those actions lead to habits. In turn a person's habits developes their character and character will develope their future but it all starts with a person's attitude and mind. I do believe that we finally have the right leaders to change the mentality and attitude of our franchise. What I want more than anything in our draft selections this year is prospects that have the proper attitude/mindset to succeed, it will change our future.
  17. Could the Bills be willing to draft a QB in the second half of the draft versus taking one in the first 3 rds? We do have Fitzpatrick and I think that everyone expects whatever potential QB that the Bills may select to sit at least a year. What if the Bills are willing to target a later rd prospect, someone like FAU QB Jeff Van Camp, and be willing to let him develope a little bit longer?
  18. The Bills trade up with Carolina and takes Newton. This should get the board in an uproar.
  19. Amen to that brother!
  20. It's not the fans' decision, it's the administration's and if they feel that either of these players are a franchise QB then it's not too steep of a price to pay.
  21. I'd be all for this trade back if Arizona covets one of the QBs (Newton and Gabbert)and is willing to throw in their 2nd rd pick (#38) so they can secure one of these QBs and beat the Bengals to the punch. Of course that is if Denver doesn't trade out or take a QB for themselves. Dareus could just be the key for the Bills to trade back if in fact Denver takes him with #2 pick. The Bills could then still land up with Quinn and get an extra pick out of the deal. Would anyone of you like this kind of trade back and pick at the #5 spot?
  22. I'm wondering how he is doing and just where he fits in the Bills' future. I know that some board members have connections with the Bills and if they could share some inside information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  23. I think that the mission is accomplished. NOBODY has a definitive idea on what the Bills are going to do and that's a good thing. It seems like they addressed each issue with answers but still managed to leave it open ended. In my opinion the Bills stay at #3 and select a defensive stud (Quinn?) and then take a QB (Kaepernick?) at #34. I don't see any trade backs OR ups, just the Bills using their allotted picks wisely.
  24. Maybe we can get another talented player like Stevie Johnson with this pick.
